It was a stranger than normal day- afterall, Amalia still wasn't ready to really venture into the darkness of Nerezza; if there was anything she hated more, it was darkness.
Can't see the enemy.... she thought this to herself, but the voice carrying on in her mind stated, if you are one with the darkness, they cannot see you either..
So she trudged along, knowing her attempt to make herself feel better was for naught, the traveler with her, face covered in cloth, was able to see everything around them- Nerezza was a place where everyone could see you and you were blind to the world if you had not known its tricks.
Yet Amalia and her traveler continued on, their goal was to find anyone at this rate, because Chalybs and Tuono were one thing, but Nerezza- this land was special. Afterall, only the traveler with her could find what they were really looking for...

Akuma Shuen, The Knight of Night, was seated on the windowsill of one of the buildings that the mysterious pair passed. If Akuma prided himself on one thing, it was his ability to understand whether somebody belonged, he had always known he didn't belong in the Itan-Sha, he had always known that Brea had, he knew that thos mysterious woman didn't belong in Nerezza. Her companion though? He was sat on the fence over that one.
He slipped down the side of the building, landing behind them without making the slightest of noises and started to pursue them from a distance, making use of the shadows that cloaked the city to hide himself from their view and masking the sound his boots made against the cobbles.

At this point, Amalia turned around to see her traveling companion- "How much further is it? I can't see my own two feet in front of me let alone the castle!"
The cloaked man shrugged, looking ahead with his arms hidden- he felt like he was being watched- he turned around, a flash of color emitted from his eyes and them turned around.
He spoke, "Just keep walking", the voice was recognizable, but not fully familiar. He kept himself upright and followed close- his steps were as silent as their newfound guest followed from behind- neither of the travelers were aware of Akuma's presence it seemed.
Amalia spoke once more, "If this trip is going to be this strange the whole way, I may as well collect my money now and leave!"
The cloaked man nodded, "You may if you wish."
Amalia sighed, sitting on a rock to rest and see if she could see anything in front of her.

Akuma wasn't the only one who appeared to be watching the pair make their way through Nerezza towards the castle.
In fact, one Lana Princel stood in the way of the castle's path, slightly off the side of the road and with arms crossed. Unlike most of the land's visitors, she was more than accustomed to the darkness and could see far better in it than most.
She had no reason to stop anyone, though. She was curious. Today she was people watching...

The cloaked man had noticed figures in the dark, he could certainly see a lot, as he folded his arms, a silent sign that something was nearby.
Amalia didn't get it though, she stood up and sighed, "Let's just keep going- the sooner we hit a well-lit area, the safer I'll feel!"
Now the two started again, they'd been headed toward Lana's position with Akuma on their tail- honestly, the cloaked man was expecting people, and he kept a firm grip underneath his cloak, as if untrusting of the atmosphere.
Amalia however, was more focused on the ground in front of her- walking at a faster pace than the man behind her, wanting to find a semi lit area that she could follow- she didn't even notice that she was getting closer to Lana, for better or for worse? Who knew.

Akuma spotted Lana ahead, and whilst he didn't quite know who she was, he made sure to blend himself deeper into the shadows in order to judge the threat level of the newcomer. It seems that the woman following the cloaked man was having much more trouble than her companion, so she obviously was not from Nerezza, that he had already discovered a while ago.
And still, like his earlier conclusion, the mysterious figure was implaceable, yet Akuma saw a part of his cloak tighten and he had the sudden realisation that the man would most likely be armed, Akuma Shuen was now on his guard.

Lana hadn't noticed Akuma, though she had the feeling she'd seen something moving in the distance. Her focus was more on the two travelers coming towards her--the cloaked one and the obvious foreigner who traveled with him, her uneasy air about her giving her away. Where Lana meant no real harm (unless they brought it on themselves), something now and then still tickled her happy when she had the opportunity to scare the crap out of foreigners.
She let Amalia get only a few feet closer before she unsheathed her longsword, letting the sound of the weapon be the initial giveaway that they were being watched and by someone who could be potentially dangerous.
"This is where you turn around unless you can give me a reason why you need to pass," she spoke authoritatively, taking a position in the middle of the path that lead to the castle.

Amalia gasped a bit and pulled out her sword, a large scale red blade with a light decoration upon the hilt- it seemed regal, but more importantly, it wasn't used much. Amalia had been training with large scale weapons, so used to the smaller scale weapons that rogues and thieves often used.
She spoke back, "I...I mean, who are yo-"
Of course the stranger slowly reached out and placed his hand on Amalia's shoulder, and upon his hand was the mark of an Ex-Nerezzian Assassin.
He spoke with a voice of slight familiarity, "I am here to seek passage to speak on behalf of the areas of Tuono and Chalybs.."
Then from under the cloak, a large chakram appeared, "And if you're looking to stop us, well, I'm afraid that I can't allow myself to be stopped here. If you're looking to understand us...well, I suppose I've got a spare cup of tea somewhere on my personage.."
Amalia looked aside, then back to Lana, whispering,"He always gets the good lines.."

"And what exactly would you want to discuss on behalf of Tuono and Chalybs?"
Akuma Shuen melted into existence from the shadows, casually stepping past the pair as a dark purple mist covered his right arm, before fading away to show a thick broadsword in his hand. He had noticed the marking on the covered strangers hand and was instantly on his guard, he wouldn't take the threat of a former assassin lightly.
He stopped and turned to face the other three figures, completing the shape of the triangle between himself, Lana and the two strangers.
"I take my duties as a Knight very seriously, and you, my good sir, look rather dangerous." His red eyes once again scanned the mark on his hand.

Amalia looked up with disregard to the 'shadow' knight as it were, and put her fist up, "Hey do you know who this is-"
The cloaked man sighed as he watched Amalia fight to no effort, and he spoke, "I guess you both need a reason, of course, my traveling partner here is..."
Amalia looked back with an evil eye.
"....for lack of a better word, uncivil and uninformed of how a place works." She growled softly and looked back to Lana while the cloaked man looked to Akuma, "You say you are a knight and yet you look more like an assassin than I did!"
His yellow eyes scanned up and down Akuma, as he spoke again, "I don't suppose you're familiar with how Nerezza tests its people?" He smiled as he pulled out a sword hilt, glass creating the sword blade shining in the light.
