Name: Onyx Volkanon
Description: A man of impressive build, standing only 5' 8", he looks incredible sturdy and muscular. His silver hair is long and pressed up by the metal circlet that he wears around his head with his side burns sticking out from under it. Liking unhindered movement for his upper-body, he wears only black pants covered with charcoal colored steel leggings, a maroon sash that hangs from his waist and a pair of elaborate and ornate black, metal gauntlets.
Occupation: King of Ignis
Age:32
Personality: Often stereotyped as being "hot-headed" or "fiery-tempered" due to his native heritage, Onyx is in all actuality a calm and cool-headed person. Believing that etiquette is extremely important, he conducts himself in a respected manner and believes that everything can be managed and completed without problems by following a specific "code of conduct." Having studied martial arts rather than weapons fighting, Onyx considers himself a pacifist and strives to avoid fighting, but should it be necessary, he believes that it should be done with honor for one's opponent and their intentions.
Alignment: Comes off as Evil due to his sometimes cold execution of people, but is really not a bad person.
Equipment: Nothing but what is visible on him.
Magic: Having been born with an affinity for Pyrokineses, Onyx was taught by the best instructors in hopes that his power would reflect the power of Ignis. His power consists of creating fire from his body and projecting it, the ignition of oxygen molecules to create explosions within a set range, self-conflagration and the control of other sources of fire within a set range.
Combat: Using Martial Arts reminiscent of the Earth's Kempo, his fighting style consist of quick blows, powerful strikes, grappling, throwing and quick footwork as a means of disabling his opponent. Using his martial arts as more of a means of relaxation and concentration, Onyx frequently practices and is always expanding his repertoire of moves. Fighting under the "Warrior's Code," seldom does he kill an opponent, in hopes that they will get stronger and challenge him once again in the future, but should an opponent break away from proper battle etiquette, Onyx shows no mercy.
History: Being the third son of the former Queen and King of Ignis, Onyx was often ignored and left alone to entertain and busy himself from a young age. From the time he was born, both of his brothers were in a heated competition to try and claim the throne. His parents, taking notice of his innate skill as a Pyrokineticists, had him placed into a temple where he would be trained and become a symbol of strength rather than a ruler. It wasn't until he was older that things started to change around the Kingdoom.
Having been brought up as a monk rather then as a prince, Onxy was very humble, quite, polite, self-reliant and strong willed. Upon leaving the monks and returning to the castle, his father, the King, layed witness to his third son and realized that his two brother, whom were still bitterly fighting over the position of future king, had become to spoiled and unfit in comparrison to Onyx.
Having later been named as the Heir to the Throne, Onxy's brother were furiours with the decision and plotted to get revenge for all the wasted years of pratice and bitter competition. After attempting several times to assassinate their brother and failing, they were eventually caught and locked up. The King unable to bring himself to execute them, left them there to reflect over what they had done till he could think of a more suitable punishment.
Upon inheriting the Kingdom from his parents, Onyx's remembered that his brothers were never properly punished in accordance with the law, so his first act as King was to have his brother executed. As they laid before the executioner, Onyx approached them and stated to all those who had gathered to bear witness to the event, "No man is exempt from the law. It is the code that governs our very way of life and keeps us from descending into a state of anarchy. My father was weak, letting his sentiment rule over what he knew in his mind to be right, but I am different. Be you a King, a knight, a monk, a peasant or even a vagrant wondering the street, let it be known that no man can escape this system and that which follows for those who choose to disobey." As his brother pleaded for their lives, he watched emotionlessly as their heads flew and painted the sky with crimson. It wasn't his choice but the law needed to be obeyed.
It has been several years since his coronation, and the Kingdom of Ignis has prospered since Onyx took control of the reigns and steered his kingdom into a age of law-guided obedience.
