((Takes place after All Eyes on Silicis; if Itami wants to join, he may.))
After being sidetracked all over the place, we'd finally ended up back in the inn, a big box of donuts in front of us. We hadn't actually managed to get any for Daisuke yet due to exigent circumstances, and I wanted him to have them.
Not to mention that I still needed to figure out how to best approach the subject of Lunar Knights with Daisuke, and I was hoping to find inspiration in sugar.
Kurai and Shin had already booked a room at this inn; we'd be moving on soon.
"I plan," I said through a mouth full of donut, "to cut across Guasto and head to Ignis after; I'd speak with," I finished chewing, "King Zelos, but I hear he is spending some time in Nerezza..."
I shrugged. "Sorry, Dai. You probably have no idea what I'm talking about." Sugar hadn't given me inspiration, but perhaps I could segue into the subject from this angle.

"Nope. Not one clue!" I said with a grin. "So, can I have one, can I?" I ask like a child, inspecting the box of donuts. "I'm oh so anxious to see what the fuss is all about. I hope they're like fried dough..."

'Guo wasn't feeling in a 'seat' mood today, instead, the shaft of his halberd was balanced on the ground, and 'Guo had centered his weight on the tip of the blade, balancing precariously, the slightest movement being able to shift him off. One hand was held out to the side, balancing him whilst he held a donut in the other, on which he was happily munching.
"Herp yerseref!" He cried with his mouth stuffed full of donuts, a big grin painted across his face.

I was taking up the couch to the inn room like a bed, sprawled out like I owned it. I had taken a donut for my own and begun munching on it, every morsel of sugar melting on my tongue. "I have no clue what's going on, either, Blondie. But... eh, you know me. I don't care." I rest my eyes, taking another bite of the sweet treat. "I'll just take a nap, okay?" I roll onto my side, facing the others with the donut in my mouth and sighing comfortably.

I nodded, nodding to Kurai. "Kurai and I are on... somewhat of an important mission, for the order. We have to visit every country and speak with the rulers about endorsing the Order when it comes out to the public." I turned to Daisuke. "The Order I'm speaking of is the Order of Lunar Knights. You remember me asking you if you'd heard of them, right?"

Kurai nodded back in turn. He seemed to be the only guy here who wasn't interested in donuts. He was sat back in his chair, book held up to his face, silently scanning it's pages he occassionally looked up at the others, but his attention always ended up drifting back down to the pages that he held before him.

"Yush, I do remumber." I said with a mouth full of donuts. God these things are awesome! Almost as good as fried dough! I finish my current mouth full before deciding to speak again. "So does this have anything to do with me at all? I mean, I suppose i'll be travelling with you guys, so I need to know all I can right?"

I nodded. "Daisuke," I asked, "can I see your hand again? The one with the mark on it."
I pulled a small, leather-bound book from my pack; it looked old, though remarkably well-preserved, especially for its own age. I knew from a long familiarity that the pages within were filled with cramped, precise-yet-scrawling handwriting in a language I wouldn't expect any here to be able to speak or understand. I waited for him to show me the tattoo.
This book would provide the proof; I didn't need to mention its exact age, contents, or significance. Preservation was a very practical aspect of my power; I had kept death and decay from eating this book for thousands of years.

"Yeah, I guess. It's not really that big, though. Just a birthmark my parents said." I hold my left hand out for Vash to see. "I can get out my glove too if that's necessary." I reach over to the donut box and grab another donut with my free hand. "So what's with the book?"

"You'll see." I flipped open the book. I had the page memorized; I had every page memorized. Flipped past pages and pages of notes, past the opening page where someone called "Kiran Andirss" had written his name. Until I finally reached a page blank of all writing, covered, instead, with a pencilled drawing. In the center, Ketuluna was drawn, Luna a waning crescent, while Ketu's dark face waxed to gibbous. Most Allorans only considered Luna's face; Ketulunans worshipped both our light and dark Mothers. Around the central drawing, thirteen symbols, each containing a moon in their own right, seemed to dance, surrounding Ketuluna. My finger traced around, following their curve; in the lower-right section, I paused, indicating a mountain peak whose tip pierced a full moon. It matched the design on Daisuke's hand. "JUst what I thought," I said, though I hadn't needed to look it up. "I had to make sure, before I actually told you. Daisuke... you're one of us. A Lunar Knight, tied to a spirit beyond your imagining. A representative of the powers of Earth."

I pause eating for a moment and stare at him. "What, seriously?" I ask after gulping down the remainder of my donut. "I mean, I haven't felt any different from anyone else before... I mean, I don't feel like some sort of spirit-guy." I say, confused at the situation. "What exactly does this mean for me then?" I ask.

I closed my eyes. "You wouldn't really have felt different -not in any way you could really describe. You're a normal human - you're just bound to something... a little greater. You have magic, power over the earth and stone. You also gain power from the goddesses of the moon, Ketu and Luna. This power lies, at the moment, dormant; with the right training, you can wake it up, and contact the spirit who chose you - Tarran, the Earth's Moon."

"...Hmph." I managed after a bit of a pause. "I never thought I might be able to use magic..." I trailed off, thinking of the usefulness of being able to do so. "So what you're saying is with a little work, i'll be able to... Use rocks for something?" I asked with a confused look on my face. "And what kind of training are we talking about? I mean, i'm sure I can handle it, but i'd like to know beforehand."

I thought a second. "Meditation, to begin; that will help you keep control over the power you have. Tarran's power is very solid and dependable, so control isn't normally a problem with his Knights. Still, it's important that you learn how to both wake it up, and put it back to sleep, safely. You'll contact Tarran, the Lunar who chose you; and then... well, after that, we can use every Knight we can get in our efforts to rebuild the Order, but your fate is your own choice." He met Dai's eyes. "None of us has the power to force you into a destiny you don't feel is yours."

"But of course..." Kurai started, his lazy eye looking up at Daisuke. "The more people in the order, the better... Plus, it helps to have others who can help maintain your powers if you ever lose control... Although, like Vash said, Tarran's generally pretty solid and dependable, so the chances of that occurring are pretty rare." He moved his free hand to his mouth and let out a huge yawn.
