Rin gives a glazey-eyed look at Vash before nodding. "Yeah. I did. I got tired for nothing." Nothing wasn't the right word. She... did do something. She helped Tami. He admitted it. And she knew that she had kept her friend. She takes a quick glance all around her, hoping to see him. Of course, she didn't, and she hangs her head. "I'm sorry, Vash..." She'd never really used his name before, especially in that somber of a voice. "Let's just go, okay? Before my legs give out.."

She was hurting. Her encounter with Tami had drained her more than physically, so I put on my best goofy smile and patted her head, ruffling her hair.
"Don't worry, Rin," I told her. "Some people... they're just stubborn. It takes more than one lesson to get through to them. Sometimes, nothing does... but until the end, you have to keep trying. It's never too late for someone to change. That's the truth of life."
And my smile widened. "And... I believe in you, Rin. So come on; let's go. We'll chase down some bad guys who're trying to disrupt that truth, and we'll teach them why they don't mess with the Lunar Knights!"

I put on a smile in response. Not a real one. In fact, it probably looked more like an awkward side-ways frown than a smile. Nodding once, she replies weakly, "Yeah. We'll... get 'em." His speech, though, of having to try more than once actually perked me up. That meant that I'd get to see him again. Maybe more than once more. The realization gave me a real smile now. "Let's go get 'em, Blondie."

I nodded back.
"Yeah. Let's go get 'em, Rin."

"And me!" 'Guo shouted, halberd in hand, jumping up and down "DON'T FORGET ABOUT ME! I'MA GET 'EM TOO!"[/i] He slammed the shaft of his halberd into the ground and gave an assertive nod, a glint in his eyes. For possibly the first time in his life, he looked every bit the warrior.

I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride in both my students, both willing to fight to protect, to defend. To do what they had to do without compromising a single bit of their beliefs. It helped to drown out that terrible, sick feeling emanating from up ahead, and I stood up straight and tall. "Come on," I said. "Let's go."

Meanwhile...
"This is the place," she said, looking at Monthu. "It's so.... deserted. Like... like everything is dead. I dunno, I know we've been here before, but it didn't really register." She shuddered. "I hate this place. Let's just set the well, and get the hell out of here. THis is the Morrigan's land."

"What's wrong? Got the creeps..?" He gave her a wry smile and a shrug. He had never been one to let a place affect him, he'd spent most of his life sleeping out in the wild whilst he was on missions. He paused at the last moment as his ears perked. "Hmm... Something doesn't feel right... And I don't just mean this place, I just have this odd feeling that something's coming..."

She paused, stood perfectly still. "What kind of 'something'?" she asked him. "...nevermind," she said, shaking her head. "Let's get the well set up and get out of here before we ever have to find out."

Monthu nodded, he had his bow in one hand. Unclipping the well from his belt he tossed it across to Bast whilst he drew and nocked an arrow, constantly ready to pull the string back and fire at a moments notice...

She pressed the buttons, set it on the ground. Set the timer. Ran backwards. The pillar of light shot into the sky....

We were almost there. I skimmed along the ground, leading the way for 'Guo and Rin as we got nearer and nearer to the center of the corruption.
A pillar of light that matched my wings erupted into the sky. My entire being twisted and knotted, and I tumbled from the sky, skidding and bouncing and rolling across he round as my own energy spiked out of control and out of its carefully-maintained shape. I felt like retching, but I had to keep going. Had to. We'd failed at stopping them from erecting it - but there might be something I could do to get rid of it.
I struggled to get to my feet, stumbled, fell again. Came back to my feet as the world spun under me.
"We have to... keep going..." I told myself...

"Ooooo~ That's pretty, 'Guo." I stop and stare in awe at the huge beam of light. Blondie came falling to the ground as the light beam hits the clouds. He was looking so weak right now. Even I know that something's wrong here. I take exhausted steps towards him Ryn, what's wrong with Blondie? He's... being weird. Well, extra weird. Ryn might know something. That beam, whatever it is. It's hurting Vash's land, and in turn, hurting him. It's crippling his powers bad... He's unstable.
I blink twice. "Yeah, I have no idea what that means, Ryn..."

Don't just stand there ,you idiot! Do something!
Kerrian's harsh words suddenly forced 'Guo into action. What was it that Vash had always said? He had the power of The Void and could drain excess mana from the air. Well, surely he should be able to do that now? Maybe he could help stabilize Vash? There was no time to think about it. 'Guo sprinted towards his teacher and cast his weapon aside, in his mind he felt a small nod, before looking down at his hands.
They glowed with a pale white energy, and with a slight cringe he braced himself. "Here goes nothing!" He cried before slapping his palms down onto Vash's back.

I gasped as he pulled the poisoned mana from my bones, Kerrian siphoning the excess away from him and I as 'Guo's power ran through me.
"Thank you, Brother," I said, not sure to which of them I was speaking, coming shakily to my feet. "I... I owe you one, 'Guo." I placed an equally-shaky hand on his shoulder, slipping the other beneath the bindings on my cross, pulling in pure, uncorrupted mana as the corrupted stuff left me and I sent my own power through 'Guo, cleansing the poisoned stuff he'd taken from me.
"Do you mind if I... lean on you for a while? Until we get there. I don't know how much help I'll be in the upcoming fight..."
He'd drained me pretty badly, and would need to keep doing so if I wanted to have any control at all. I didnt' dare drop any of my limiters; it would increase my ability to handle the corruption, true, but it would also increase my perception of it. Not to mention increasing the chance of blowing my cover.
