A hooded figure wearing a black cloak walked away, out of the gates of Silicis City. Nobody stopped him, there was no need considering that there were no guards standing at them. Everyone who was loyal to the Roccian throne was currently in the center of the city, trying to suppress a protest in the square. It was civilian against guard, a small skirmish, but the start of many. Since the death of the last King, Roccia had been under the control of a distant relative who had claimed the throne before the last ruler's corpse was even cold. As soon as he came to power, he started initiating a number of treaties and protocols that left Roccia on the brink of bankruptcy. The people were starving, and the blood games that occurred in the arenas were the only things that had been stopping everyone within the major cities from rioting and rebelling against his rule. The number of armed guards had nearly quadrupled in the short time that he'd been ruling, and every guard went through a rigorous training procedure to make sure that they would kill for their apparent 'King' if necessary.
But the people can only be kept subdued by blood for so long. Rumors start to circulate around the small towns of Roccia, rumors of a man who promises peace within the nation, money, food. Everything that they had wanted so badly for the past few months. It's not just his ideals of which they hear though, but also of his prowess. For decades he has lived in war, doing what needs to be done in order to protect those dear to him. He has killed those that need to be killed, and yet he has also spared those who need to be spared. Kind of heart but with a resolute fist held above those who dare to break his just rule, he has been in command of men for the past few years and has proven a brilliant commander. Helping suppress civil wars, battling local bandits and protecting homsteads in the wild, he becomes somewhat of an enigma within Roccia. But it is not just what he has done in his own lifetime that makes him so popular, his past and lineage also began to circulate.
The Ancient Bloodline. A bloodline that dates back thousands of years, back to the early decades of Allorum, linking this enigma with the greatest warriors of the old ages, and the most just of rulers. Some dare say he dates back to an old emperor, tens of thousands of years ago, who held all of Allorum in his grasp. As such, the people say that Roccia could very well be this mans birth right. The rumors spread like wildfire, and as word of mouth becomes louder, so too does the number of those who hear it.
It isn't long before the King hears of this 'enigma' and offers five hundred thousand gold coins to the man who brings him his head. Many bounty hunters go out in search, but none can grasp the hooded man, who seems to have numerous hideouts and safehouses all over Roccia. The people start to support a shadow that they don't even know, but they also begin to gain an independence they had never felt before, they feel the burning urge to break free from there shackles. The people rise up in peaceful protest, they parade through the streets demanding that the King step down and the enigma take his place, and if he won't do it, then they'll form a government based on what is now known as the 'Undian Model'. The King is disgusted by their claims. He unleashes his emotionless guards.
Slaughter.
The people in the protest are butchered, with a majority escaping, but thousands of lives lost to the King. Blood that is now on his hands. The people will rise again, but this time it will be with fire and steel, as they prepare for war.
The hooded figure walks away from the skirmish and the city, as a smile spreads across his face. It was time to initiate the rest of his plan.
"Workers unite. You have nothing to lose but your chains."
