Name: Marcus "Pazsasz" Zsasz
Description: Being a younger man of only 32 year, his face holds a worn and weathered look of someone who's seen too much. His eyes, adorned with crows feet, and his face, gaunt and slender, do him no favours when making a first impression, especially when held in combination with his shaved head, multiple ear piercings and the sleeves of tattoos that cover his arms. His body is lean and muscular, his height, average, around 5'7", but appears notably shorter, as he commonly slouches.
Age: 32
Personality: Marcus has all but lost any remnant of a discernible personality, his rational mind having been dissolved by excesses consumption of Mana injections and mental strain from extra-planar intervention, having left the man in an constant drug addled illusion, almost completely disconnect him from reality.
His perception of events is constantly skewed, causing his reactions to even the most simple of social instances to be incredibly erratic and unpredictable, thought usually not violent. Marcus, or "Pazsasz" as he now refers to himself as, is commonly very low-key, his voice quite quiet and almost wavering, his posture slack, and his interactions quite lax, though commonly strange.
Place of Origin: A small village in Brandenburg, Germany until he moved to the United States, hoping to forge his own version of the "American Dream."
Alignment: in his current state, Marcus possess no overtly allocatable alignment, and is instead morally guided by elemental spirits that always seem to be lurking in the ethereal space beyond normal human sight.
Occupation: Former Corporate Espionage Agent
Equipment: Military style cargo pants and a matching vest that carry a host of common tools implemented by Marcus in his days as a former espionage agent, ranging from white noise generators, keycard scanners, lock picks and various other tools for stealth oriented operations, to a host of several nonlethal weapons such as smoke, flash and ball bearing grenades, blackjack and a garrotte.
Combat: Marcus, even in his state of cognitive malfunction, still seems to have retained muscle memory of former combat training, making him a notable threat when in close combat, though only so far in as one can be with nonlethal maneuvers. Focuses on strikes/holds meant to disable opponents into a state of submission, and skilled trapping and disarming techniques, for opponents that would attempt to engage him in melee combat with a weapon of their own.
Magic: Marcus' excessive use of Mana injections has caused his body to fully metabolize the drug into his body's own physiology, causing a constant flow of the material to cycle throughout his circulatory system. With this, Marcus no longer requires Mana injections to gain his powers, but the constant presence of the drug in his body has long since addled his mind with problems and left him a psychological wreck.
When actualizing his powers, Marcus is able to manifest blades of a kind of kinetic energy. Thought tangible, the blades, at Marcus' discretion, are able to pierce seemingly any object, but appear to do no lasting or noticeable damage to any object that they pierce or cut. Instead, the blades can be detonated like an explosive and the resulting burst of energy hammers any living creatures in the blast radius with a concussive blow to their mind, causing harsh headaches with initial hits, and potential mental/brain damage with excessive strikes. Marcus commonly conjures the blades in his hands as dagger like objects, but has also been recorded to manifest the blades around himself as a swirling mass, and to project the dagger-like manifestations up to a range of 30ft.
As a odd side effect, Marcus also seems to have developed an affinity for corroborating and interacting with elemental spirits. As Marcus' natural levels of mana kept increasing, it seems that his interaction with the ethereal being became more frequent and more involved, eventually getting to a point where he could interact and even illicit favours from the creatures based on their disposition, and on any potential deeds of gifts that Marcus was willing to impart on the creatures.
Due to Marcus' displaced cognitive state, much of his day to day life is influenced by the whispers or conversations he hears/holds with these elemental beings, and proves to be the true X factor in Marcus' disposition and behaviour.
History: Marcus grew up in a quite countryside in Northern Germany with his family. Thought living an unremarkable life, Marcus was content, as was the rest of his family, but as Marcus grew older, tales of grandiose dreams and untold opportunity from friends across the sea lured the young man to America, hoping that he to might one day secure a life of prestige, fame, or anything else that seemed to embody the "American lifestyle."
Thought a land of opportunity, it was not the land of honeyed dreams that he'd imagined, and instead painted a path to his desired prestige with machinations, debauchery, cruel cunning, and other ill-seeming aspects of man, but Marcus would not be dissuaded.
Eventually, Marcus found himself as a test subject for a new drug that was to be hitting the market, and offered himself to beta test the substance for the sizeable fee that was offered to testers, hoping that the money might serve as a starting point for his new life. Responding well to the Mana injections, Marcus quickly stood out as a superior subject to the others and after extensive testing, was hired on and trained for espionage work for Damas Commmdities.
Serving well the company that took him in, Marcus had a life of comfort, but only as far as he needed, not being a man to slip to far into indulgence. All was good for a time, but eventually side effects started to move in. Some times it was a tiny whisper, other times odd happenings, sometimes in his favour, other times not, but Marcus did well to avoid letting on to such things, lest his performance and, by proxy, his job fall under scrutiny.
Having stood out amongst his peers, Marcus had been selected to be one of the members in a recon group traversing dimensions into Allorum. It was within here that Marcus was subject to mental strain far beyond that of what he was capable of dealing with, as the voices that only barely reached him on Earth were now only separated by a thin, opaque veil, and could interact with Marcus on a much stronger level. After prolonged exposure to these forces and beings, Marcus eventually broke down mentally and went AWOL, abandoning his team and now running loose throughout the world of Allorum.
P.S. Not super sure on details for the whole arc involving Damas Communities, or how the Mana injections work, so if there are any inconsistencies here with how things should be working, just let me know and I'll rework them so they fit.
