The door blew inwards.
About 7 guards flew in behind it.
Then Riliath stormed in.
The current sort-of monarch of Roccia sat cowering in his throne, trying his best to put on a brave face before the massive warrior that had just burst into his throne room. Another figure stepped in, carrying an unconscious guard over his shoulder, this one wore pale blue armour and had a Wolf's helmet atop his head, he also cut an intimidating figure, but in a completely different sense to the giant who had come in first. The blue armoured man threw the guard to the ground as the third and final figure stepped into the room, and this one was the most intimidating one of all.
It wasn't the dirt and grime of the battlefield that made him scary, it wasn't the bright blue eyes staring out from that dirty face that made him scary, it wasn't even the dark blue, black and yellow arms that seemed to be pulsing with energy that made him scary.
It was his smile.
He was smiling, as if he was greeting an old friend. The 'King' rose to his feet, completely shocked. Had these men fought the rebels and won, why else would they be smiling at him?
He took a nervous step forwards.
But, if they were loyal men to him, why had they killed some of his guards? Had they been part of the plot? He narrowed his eyes as he took another tentative step towards the dirt-covered man.
"It's all right, 'My liege'... You're safe now..."
Ha... He called him 'my liege'. They must be on his side, right? He continued towards the men with a small smile growing across his face, these must be loyal men! But wait, the tone with which he'd called him that... It was almost... Sarca-
CRUNCH
The fist collided with his stomach before he even knew it had been clenched!
The 'King' flew backwards into his own thrown, which flipped backwards and away from the three. Roxa's smile faded as he looked across at the King.
"Hi. I'm here for your throne."

Enzio darted down the halls of the castle, leaping over the occasional dead guard and than on a very occasion he made a guard... well, dead.
He slid across the marble flooring, his leather boots held no traction on the material so at some moments he felt like he was skating on a pond of ice. He finally made it to the throne room, taking a deep breath he rested against the wall while the Undian soldiers came up from behind him.
"Castle is nearly cleared of all hostiles..." The Undian captain said, slinging his crossbow over his shoulder and resting his hand on the emerald crested handle of his sword.
"Ah... good," Enzio nodded before looking over at Roxa, "So what do you plan on doing with the... uh..." he waved his hand over to the man who stood in as the leader of the nation, "...King...?"

As Enzio slid into the room, two royal guards burst from behind pillars and approached Roxa, spears raised. The young leader raised one hand casually to still Enzio and the Undians as Riliath and Gensayce sprung into action like wild animals striking out at their prey.
Riliath swung his halberd to the side and snapped the spearhead off of the guards weapon before swinging the poleax back, catching his jaw with the blunt of the weapon, sending the guard reeling. Whilst his back was turned, Riliath reached out with a big armoured hand and grabbed the guard by the back of the head. He lifted him clean off the ground, before impaling his halberd straight through his spine.
Gensayce moved just as swiftly, swinging his spear to the side, he cracked the guards head with the shaft, setting him to a wobble. Gensayce spun his weapon over his head and hit him on the other side, before slamming an armoured boot onto his opponents spear, trapping it. Leaning his arms back he let out an almighty thrust clean through the guards neck.
The two officers pulled their weapons free, the corpses falling to the ground simultaneously as Roxa stepped forwards, sword in one hand, a scroll in the other. He addressed Enzio and the Undians.
"Hated or not... This man has some supporters, both in Roccia and on the international stage, so he's goin to sign this." He threw the scroll in the 'Kings' face, and the elderly man unravelled it and read its contents aloud.
"I hearby proclaim... Hand over my royalties... Properties... Rights... To one Roxa Hiaten..." He looked up at Roxa, one eyebrow raised. "That would be you..?" He asked dryly. "Why should I sign this? If I don't, you'll be accused of Regicide and put to death by the other nations! There's nothing in this for me!" Roxa cut him off all of a sudden, leaning down to his level.
"You get to live. And you know it's coming too... You can feel that encroaching darkness... Evil is falling on this world. And you know deep in those old bones of yours that you're not ready to protect this nation."
The King flustered red as he tried to pick himself up, but couldn't get past Roxa's looming figure.
"I-I am more than ready to defend Roccia!" Roxa smirked.
"Then prove it. Sign the paper, leave, gather an army... Come back and retake your throne. Prove you can defend your country." He held out a quill. "Go on." His face turned sombre.
The King grumbled something before taking the quill and signing the dotted line...

Undian soldiers stepped further towards Roxa as the 'King' signed the deal. The soldier's cold and emotionless armor made them look like killing machine."King Sairen..." The commanding soldier said, "Unda stands by your side in this fight ."
"Ah um..." Enzio stumbled, not sure if he should get on his knees or stand completely still, "I can't speak for the entire order, but I'm here and ready to help whenever you'll need it. If that man brings an army back I'll eliminate it myself!"
It bothered him a little though that Roxa was letting the 'King' go. Why would he pass up the chance to wipe out a man who plans to bring death and destruction onto the realm? This wasn't his show though, Enzio would keep his thoughts to himself.

"You know, Enzio..." Roxa started without turning to look at the young Allorum Guardian. His eyes locked firmly on the former King of Roccia, the man looked up at Roxa, daggers in his eyes, the expression speaking volumes, but also appearing defeated in its appearance.
"Your body language speaks volumes, untold volumes of how you feel... I can't explain it... I've been so sensitive to magic recently, that I can feel... No... sense others attitudes... It's so weird and off. You want to know why I am letting him go?" He asked, finally looking over his shoulder for a brief moment. "This man has killed innocent people, who can't defend themselves to get what he wants. Look at him, he can't defend himself, he can't fight me. Not without his army. And if he brings one? I'll destroy it myself, and see if he fights me. If not, if he cowers here unable to raise his fists again, I'll release him once again. The system will rinse and repeat until he realises, that he's weak... A coward... Don't you get it, Enzio?" His gaze had fallen back on the former King.
"This is a fate worse than death. To know you're weak and not be able to do a thing."
Two of the Kishu soldiers marched in and Roxa simply nodded at them. "Take him away, take him to the courtyard so he can give his statement to the people, to tell them they have a new King..." Roxa started walking forwards.
He was covered in grime.
He was weary from battle.
His swords felt heavy.
But he had achieved his goal.
He sat in his rightful throne, resting his swords in an 'x' across his lap.
"To tell them that King Hiaten has ascended the throne."
The guards nodded, bowed and then took the old King under the arms and dragged him from the room, taking the statement with them. Roxa let out a sigh of relief, looking across at the Undian soldiers.
"I thank you once again for your aid, you saved many lives by helping with the first gate. But I ask one more favour of you... I ask that you send a single man to the caves outside the city. There you will find one of my guards, tell him to bring Queen Alessia to the castle, he'll challenge you with the question 'Which Saint shines the brightest?' You shall reply 'Those whom we remember.' He shall come. This is all I shall ask of you, in return... I would ask the names of every Undian Marine who took part today, and any who did not survive. All shall be commemorated today, if you would rather remain anonymous, I at least ask for your regimental details."
King Roxa gave the first warm smile since the start of the battle.

"Whoa... that's freaky..." Enzio blinked as Roxa explained himself. He quickly shook his head and laughed nervously, "I mean: that's totally freaky your Highness."
He paused and reviewed his sentence before saying, "Um... can I take back what I just said?"
As Enzio stammered the Undian captain bowed towards the King and replied, "That's more honor than we require, your Highness. We do not have names nor do we belong to a regiment of any sort... honor is for the dead and to die is to require a life, which we do not have."
The commander continued to speak again, "I'll find your Queen for you and than we will leave your country at once. Thank you for letting us fight by your side, I'm sure you'll make strong King."
They bowed before vanishing behind the corner. Enzio shook his head before laughing to himself, "That's one crazy life they lead. I'm going to have to meet this Brea guy someday, seems incredibly powerful..."

They say of you speak of the Devil, he'll appear. That was certainly the case with Brea. The blonde swordsman had filled the space his marines had left without so much as making a sound... He was wearing the same armour and had a normal longsword at his waist, not his usual katanas. He'd been fighting amongst his men and had only now just taken off his helmet.
"What can I say?" He pointed out, running a metal gauntleted hand through his hair, shaking it loose. His bangs, unsupported by his usual headband, fell low into his face. "I've drilled them well, truly, if they were any better, they'd be Itan-Sha swordsmen."
Brea had shown up halfway through the battle. Catching up with his marines he'd joined them, ordering that they hint nothing of his status and follow the Captain's orders. He had wanted to see this King in action, and he was impressed.
"President Kirix-Unda sends his regards. He sent me away from the ball with a message. Seigmand Dezmar is ali-" Roxa suddenly cut him off.
"I know." The Young King pointed out.
"You do..? Hm. Makes my job a lot easier then. He'll be coming here no doubt, our navy's going to Shepard him right to you, whatever you want to do with him, we shall stand by you." King Roxa gave a nod in gratitude. Brea turned his attention to Enzio.
"Do not think Unda has forgotten your aid alongside the Kishu's." He said, inclining his head slightly (the closest you could get to a bow from Brea). "I shall inform President Benjamin on your actions here today, he will no doubt be happy to know that the new King has the right allies."

Now a good soldier would be like, 'no need for such honor blahblahblah', but Enzio? He was reduced to a babbling idiot at the gratitude given by a certified badass, Brea Cao-Wei.
"Oh well, you know, just doing the duty of a Hero!" He laughed while scratching the back of his head.

"Gentlemen..." Roxa said, his eyes suddenly feeling a lot heavier now that the adrenaline was leaving his system. From the weary looks of the men around him (Save Enzio who was chuffed to bits having been complimented by a man such as Brea), they all felt the same. Roxa closed his eyes for a moment, a rather long moment as he composed himself before speaking again.
"You've all fought bravely... And I know I'm supposed to give a speech or such, but right now... I don't have the energy to." He looked at the markings on his arms, which were a dull grey after use. "Plus, my Fiancé will be here shortly, no doubt we will have much to discuss..." He looked around at the tired faces and gave another smile.
"So I ask that I be left alone, for a few moments... To gather my thoughts. I'll give a proper address shortly, but I want to say one thing, and one thing alone... Thank you, to all of you. No matter where you may hail from, know that Roccia will always accept you." He nodded firmly.
"Now, if you would all be so kind as to allow me to rest for a while..."
Riliath and Gensayce both bowed with a 'My King' and left. He would organise their personal rewards for their loyal service later. Brea left next with a 'Your Highness' inclining his head slightly, leaving Enzio.
"Enzio... You've proved a solid friend. Before you go, I wish to ask something of you, I know your group is secretive, so I want to get it out of the way now before the public address."

"You have no idea what that means to be called your friend, really..." Enzio smiled a truly sincere smile before sitting down, his legs crossed and his back slumped. Now that he thought about it he was pretty worn out. "But anyway, what is it you wish to ask me, your Highness?" It was odd, with Roxa having such a high title... yet at the same time it felt somewhat fitting. It'd just take a moment or two to get used to, he supposed.

Roxa gave a small chuckle. "Please..." He said, tiredly running a hand through the blonde spikes of his hair. "We're not in public, let's just stick with Roxa, eh?" He nodded slowly, before gripping his swords and standing up, a small smile painted across his face as he looked down on Enzio. Damn, he was only a kid... You could see it in the way he accepted praise, in the desperation to please others. He knew little bits about the AG from his years of sitting in the dark and watching the world, they looked after their people well, and produced fine warriors like the one before him.
"I would like to offer you something, something that will stand as a testament to everything that you have done for me, something you can really be proud of. To some, it will just be an empty word that means nothing, to others it will be evidence of your strength. Enzio..." He smiled, pointing his silver blade at the boy.
"I would like to Knight you, here and now. Awarding you with the title of 'Knight-Hero of Roccia'. I am not asking for your servitude, nor am I asking you to stay here in Roccia like Riliath and Gensayce. But I want people to know that you are a friend, and a stalwart warrior, and that wherever you go, Roccia will always be behind you."

One year ago Enzio had met Roxa in a attempt to free Unda from a creature of darkness. From that moment on Enzio never once had a moment of break, he was consistently at war with all these monsters that roam Allorum.
He closed his eyes and for a brief moment he felt like he had won some type of victory. He didn't know why or what he gained from this, but he would accept it with the utmost grace.
"I would be honored to accept such a title, Roxa." He bowed his head towards the King and closed his eyes, struggling to hold back tears. He wasn't sure if these were tears of joy that were beginning to stream out of his eyes or if it the weight of all the lives that he had lost in this war finally coming over him.
As Roxa had said: in the end his was still a child.

Roxa smiled as he stepped towards the young boy, his silver sword in hand, sheathing the onyx one at his waist. Stopping in front of the boy, he rested the flat of the blade against the boys shoulder, he'd keep it brief, like he had said earlier... He still needed his rest.
"You came into this room, a young boy named Enzio, a member of the Allorum Guardians, a warrior with most certainly unique magical capabilities. You've stood by my side for as long as need be, in Unda, here in Roccia... Wherever it has been that I've required assistance... I could go on further, but like I promised, I'll keep it short..." He moved the sword to the other shoulder, and then rested it atop the boys head, before taking a step back.
"So stand now, with the title of Kyo Enzio, Knight-Hero of Roccia."

Enizo stood up, bowing his head to Roxa before speaking, "I shall hold the title with honor."
Enzio got control of himself and took a step back, "I'll let you rest, Roxa. Your Queen will be here before you know it and I'm sure you'll need rest for when she arrives." He gave one last smirk before darting past the corner.
In the distance you could hear him yell something like "ohmygodI'maknightbitches!"

Roxa smiled as the young Knight left the room. It was nice, to be able to say that through all the bloodshed and murder, he'd done at least one good thing today...
Turning away from the door, he sheathed his silver blade and collapsed into his new throne with a deep sigh, happy that everything had turned out the way he had anticipated... The second stage in his plan had been completed, he had gained the throne of Roccia. Now it was just a matter of putting stage three into practice... Then he would be ready to make his move.
