Hey y'all,
So I thought it might be a little fun if we held a tournament for our characters to all take place in, but, going one step further in the name of keeping things interesting, I thought I'd introduce some ideas to try and spice things up a bit.
The plan is to have two sectioned brackets, each one consisting of a number of slots equal to how many people are wanting to participate. Each person is allowed a maximum of 2 entries, one for each bracket. This is, in every way, your standard tournament, so far in as how it works. Two go in, battle, and one comes out victorious, thus moving onto the next round. These brackets will intersect eventually, taking the champs of both brackets and pitting them against one another in one final no-holds-barred battle for supreme victory!
This tournament is meant to be non-cannonical with the events of CR, basically meaning that any characters can participate without the player character needing to figure out a reason as to why they're participating, or needing to remember the outcome of said tournament for future interaction and character development. Yep, this is just meant to be a good 'ol fashioned smack-down, and nothing more.
Except not, as this is where things get a little different. Battle are not to be role-played between the two player characters of the combatants, but rather each player writes their own account of the battle, having their character win in the end, and then all of us vote for who we think should be the winner, based on how well we feel the writer captured both characters, how well written the battle was, and how interesting the battle was in juxtaposition to their opponents rendition of the battle.
So, just to summarize.
1. Players can submit up to 2 characters for the tournament. You may submit only 1 if you should so choose. Submission due date is November 3rd.
2. To submit please reply to this thread with a single replying post indicating your character(s) for the tournament.
3. On Novermber 4th I will release the tournament schedule on this thread, showing the brackets and who your first fight will be.
4. Each player must submit an account of the 1st round fight where their character wins in the end by November 7th. Please submit the fight in the "Omake Section" of the Chat board under the title of "Round 1: _____ vs_____"Under extenuating circumstances you can pm for a day's extension, otherwise, so as not to slow everyone else up, failure to submit a fight account will result in a loss by default.
5. On November 8th I will post polls for the fights where each player is allowed 1 vote per fight to decide which one they enjoyed more. You are free to decide your own criteria for determining who won.
6. Further scheduling will be released as the event continues.
Please remember that this is solely for fun and is non-canon in all ways. All characters stand a chance regardless of how powerful they're suppose to be in canon. Likewise there is to be no complaining about how other players write your characters, their combat style or their use of tactics and special moves. It would be cool to see people try and write other characters as faithfully as possible, but no one is to be badgered if they don't have your character fight exactly as you'd want them to, especially if the info isn't in your character's profile.
With that being said, I hope to see you all participate and look forward to a lot of awesome fights in the coming days! Thanks for reading!
