((I'm rping with myself again; join in if you want HO HO HO HO HO))
The sky was a dull grey colour as Alexander was moved from ship to carriage that took him towards home. It was an odd observation, though it had seemed that recently there were storms happening in the light kingdom, though that was more or less because of the time of the year.
In a time when Alexander would have grumbled over the miserable weather he actually found the depressing grey to be very comforting as he leaned against the door in his seat, Foxy sitting to his right with his fingers running softly through the fur on her head and in his left dangling in his lap sat the letter he'd received from Benjamin while out in Unda.
It read
Alexander, it pains me beyond belief that you're reading this. For it means that I have one last thing to ask of you: my nation will not survive at this rate. It needs a leader, a leader that can handle the threat that Duo poses.
It needs Brea Cao-Wei. He's the only person that can lead this nation through the darkness that is descending. However, I ask of you to present the documents in this letter to all nations, presenting evidence that will clear the Itan-Sha of all charges.
Brea deserves this much for sure.
And finally I wish to properly thank you for your friendship, I wasn't lying to you when I said that Santo-Luce would be the weight that keeps the world from falling off the cliff. But more so, it's not what Santo-Luce can do but what you can do, you're a strong leader and the world knows it. No amount of Martial Law will unite the lords of these lands and our only hope is you. They'll unite when you want them to unite.
Remember to have a good relationship with whomever will take over my role as President, I feel strongly that this century will be a Undian-Santo-Lucian century and good partnership between the two nations are vital to that.
I knew this was coming and I've long accepted this. I just wish that I could have seen those beaches you spoke so foundly of. Perhaps in another life we'll meet again...
Your friend and ally,
Benjamin Kirix-Unda.
When he left Santo-Luce for Unda, he had a solid plan in his head for what was to come. He would discuss with Benjamin and Kyros every bit of their strength and acknowledge weaknesses; they'd have those weaknesses covered through each other. They'd round up others to aid in. When Duo attacked any of their nations, they'd put up the good fight and come out with success.
He ended up in Unda, had the first part of his plan come to fruition only to have been knocked back a few feet because somehow Benjamin had been assassinated. It at least pleased Alexander to know that he was able to catch the man responsible for it before he could get away. If anything, that helped him sleep better. He wasn't kidding when he said he was going to put up the good fight for Unda, how he refused to let everything he and Benjamin work towards suddenly fall apart.
But dammit, Benjamin. Alexander bit his lip remembering the exact moment that arrow pierced his friend, how the whole scene played out like it had taken hours to happen and yet no matter what he did, Alexander could do nothing to save the man. Glancing over the note again tears silently welled up in his eyes and he breathed heavily, squeezing a handful of Foxy's fur gently. She nuzzled closer to him in response.
He knew what he had to do. He just didn't want to do it anymore.
"Who am I kidding? If I don't, who will? Hmm?" he looked down at his furry companion, trying to shake the tears away. Besides, that Brea fella didn't seem like a bad guy...if Benjamin says that he's what Unda needs, then that's who he'd get for them.
There was a rumbling of the carriage which made Foxy's ears twitch. Alexander raised an eyebrow.
"Your majesty, there seems to be quite the roadblock ahead of us..." one of his guards spoke from ahead, noting a group of people loitering about in front of them.
"Tell it to move, then. I've got somewhere to be," Alexander answered shortly. He sat back, tucking Benjamin's letter away and crossing his arms. He was waiting fairly impatiently until he heard his own guards yelling "oh dammit!".
'...Uhoh...' was all Alexander could think, curious and worried as he made to check the windows...
