Long had it been since Abyssus had been sealed, and for long had people thought that all that had occurred with the Sumata had been locked away, be it in their own mind, or by the barriers that now barred the mansion. No light permeated the blackened chambers of the once occupied halls, nor sound filled the deep halls that once echoed with the voices of man. All that was left was the stench, the rotting, festered smell of meat and blood that rose from the darkest depth of the lair, exuding to all corners of the mansion after years without a single breath of fresh air from the outside world.
Twisting and winding through the hidden halls beneath the mansions floors, where one would think no light should ever shine, a faint hue undulated within the darkest recesses that once served as the corrupt lab to a man several years passed. Under the eerie light that pulsated within the chamber, a lifeless heap of bones shudders as if under an unseen force before a lone hand hanging limp at the side pulled itself from the ground, scrapping it's ragged fingers against a nearby wall, a crackling and raspy sigh breaking free from underneath the mass of bodies.
"Ahhhh, so long have I missed the sweetness of sound. That insipid lullaby of silence was long overplayed, and all to pleased am I to be free from that purgatory."
With a shuddering motion, the mass lifted itself, nothing but the faint glow in the background to illuminate the tall figure as it rose to a full stand, it's hollowed sockets peering through the darkness at the disheveled lab. Walking up to the broken equipment and dust-ridden tables, the figure placed his hand upon the dusted surface before raising it's hand and glancing intently at the limb.
"So long have I hungered for this beauty, this form of boundless perfection, and oh such jubilation to no longer be bound by that vessel of meat and fluids."
Clenching it's bony fingers, it swung it's fist against the phials and beakers that littered the table before slamming it's hands against table, blistering the wooden structure with a ripe cracking sound, letting the skeletal figure give way to a strange and almost satisfied sigh.
"Even more then I missed form, so long have a missed the bliss of function. The dulcet tones, the shrill cries, the soothing sound of disarray before that well earned silence. Oh, how I've missed performing for the masses, and I do believe it is about time I constructed another symphony for the plebeians of this world, one that they shall never forget. It is the least they deserve before I blight this world into a form so perfect as my own," it mumbled as a burst of black fire called it's conducting wand to it's hand.
"Yes, yes, a requiem seems more then appropriate. This instance shall be but the first note to my new masterpiece, and as such has already set the tone for the rest of the players, but...who am I to swoon with such a performance without an proper audience? Hmmm..."
Rapping it's free fingers against a nearby wall, the figure thought and pondered whom should receive the prestige of a personal invitation. Tilting it's head back as if struck by a sudden realization, it turned to face the nearby wall, drawing it's conducting wand across it and sundering the structure to reveal a deep green chasm, one seemingly spanning far beyond the mansions walls.
"I believe I know the perfect first guest for my symphony, and who knows, perhaps a little bit of reminiscence along the way shall offer up a bit of...inspiration," it spoke aloud, the figures mannerisms conveying a smile where it's lacking visage could not. Plodding further into the chasm, the split surface closed itself in a swift motion, leaving nothing within the mansions halls save for the shallow undulating glow that beat softly against the degraded chamber walls.
