Current Leader of Nation: Kyros Forthe
Current Captains under Ruler:
Military: Crepusculum boast a rich heritage of magical might that has grown throughout the years due to study and research. Innovation and development of the ways of mana manipulation has created several schools of war magic that vie for dominance within the Crepusculum military ranks. Currently the Evokers schools hold power thanks to many favouring the elemental power demonstrated by Yeligar Maelstrom and his brief tenure as Warlord, filling much of the favoured squads with elementalists.
While most of the military is trained in traditional combat tactics and weapons, almost all soldiers do undergo some magical education, allowing all the ability to access a few spells, making almost 90% of all soldiers capable of some defensive or offensive mana manipulation.
Lastly, with little coastal space along their borders there is little resources put into any naval forces, instead focusing on mage towers that keep watch over their land, each one a marbled featureless construct that towers several stories high and is furnished with a host of sentries and three mages each.
Resources:Crepusculum hosts a small variety of flora, fauna and minerals that make them a prosperous nation thanks to a varied topography and moderate climate. As the Shade Mountains make for few trade routes and fewer favourable port locations there is little that is imported or exported publicly, though private merchants consider Crepusculum a high risk/high reward frontier for exotic imports of the other nations.
While not a naturally occurring resource, Crepusculum's greatest treasures are no doubt it's extensive research on advanced magics and theoretical applications of mana. Closely guarded by each of the universities, such research taps into all facets of spell casting.
Relationships with other Nations: Holds an amicable relationship with Santo-Luce and Nerezza given the events during the Sumata arc. Their long history as mediators and diplomats for the two nations' disputes has built a stable relationship of trust with them.
As for the other nations, Crepusculum has little interest in dealing with global affairs, content to mind their own affairs and those of their continent. While lacking a strong feeling for any of the other kingdoms, the people of Crepusculum hold a firm grudge against many of the other rulers of old for their acts against them during Trucido's reign, namely Zelos and Xisa.
Important/Unique Locations:
Profetian Keep: A relatively new castle constructed on the Northwestern stretch of the Shade Mountains, it's publicly known as a second home for the Heroes of Earth and a monument to the deaths of all those that passed in the conflict. Confidentially known to only a few however, the castle was secretly created to protect and house the only remaining portal that leads to Earth, an anomaly that has mysteriously remained intact despite the death of Profeta years ago.
The Universities of the Seven-Fold: These four massive castle towns house a small community that lives in dedication to furthering the study of magic and passing down its knowledge to each generation. While all are owned independently each one is tied to the secular organization "The Seven-Fold", who watch over and fund the universities.
Important Organizations:
The Seven Fold: Made of a cabinet of archmagi from each of the seven schools of magic that have developed in Crepusculum, this organization is a massive hierarchy that oversees all training, development and regulations that govern the use of mana and magic within Crepusculum. The schools are as follows:
1. Evokers: Masters of manipulating mana into the elements themselves. Are one of the few schools that routinely explore the other nations to better understand the native arts of elemental manipulation, and are generally the most worldly of the Seven-Fold.
2.Transmuters: Practitioners of altering the mana flow in living and nonliving matter, seeking to alter structures and beings to better them. Also encompasses the healers, a sub-school of the transmuters that use mana to accelerate the natural healing of living beings.
3. Diviners: Researchers that are attempting to tap into the unique ability to track and identify objects and people by their mana flow. They are also the most religious of the seven schools, believing that the Gods know all events before they happen and can impart this knowledge to mankind, though they are mostly ridiculed for this belief.
4. Connectors: Mages that believe that all material things are connected by the flow of mana, and research the use of teleportation and retrieval magic. They have been routinely been putting all of their research towards the portal in the Profetian Keep in an effort to better understand the magics at work.
5. Linguists: Largely in charge of documenting and preserving incantations, they are also magi that have explored the potential of the "True Name" and "Words of Power", theories that explore the use of language to harness the true power of mana, and speculates that each entity has a word or "name" that could be used to control and alter the mana flow within them.
6. Weavers: Mages that have learned the art of adding mana into objects to imbue them with powers or abilities. Easily the most secular of the schools. Used to include the forbidden art of "Necromancy" centuries ago, but is no longer researched by the Seven-Fold.
7.Purists:Mages that seek to make use of mana in it's purest form. Often time in direct confrontation of the Linguists and Evokers they attempt to conjure mana without "spoiling it" with human hands. Also known as Manamancers, this school largely focuses on defensive magic, dispelling magic and to those that hold a religious understanding of mana, "holy" magic.
Historical Tidbits:
-Crepusculum was founded in 3746 Since Rudimento (S.R.). The country was made as an attempt to halt the constant war between Santo-Luce and Nerezza.
-Crepusculum was the only kingdom that openly defied Trucido during the reign of the Sumata.
-The Lunestice family had held the throne for 3 generations before the mysterious disappearance of Queen Milicia Lunestice after the final battle of Naghtundtag, leading to the current reign of Kyros Forthe after a long search failed to produce a proper heir to the throne.
Famous for...: Being one of the few "normal" lands in all of Allorum, for it's legacy of mana manipulation research, and for being the only land that houses a stable portal to Earth.
