Current Leader of Nation: Lord Other
Current Captains under Ruler: N/A
Military: Given the current regime of the Other, the manned military of Ariadelvento has been long since disbanded. Likewise the Armoury and blacksmiths have either been decommissioned or been relocated to other areas of work.
Instead the Other has been accumulating a steady supply of vile creatures from some unknown space to make up his forces. The most common are a shambling orkish troop of 6 foot tall humanoids that serve as muscle and a base policing force against civil dissent. They are known to the people as the Gruues. Yet those that have dared to stay out at night in the wild woods of Ariadelvento have seen the rare glimpses of shorter, slender figures. Most notable are their strange twisting horns, and how their body hunches low like a beast's when they run. While not properly named, the whispers of the townfolk that have lived to see them call them the Nightwraiths.
It is very likely that such creatures make up only the most basic scouting and policing of Ariadelvento, and it is only all too likely that other creatures lurk within the continent when war is declared.
Resources:
With it's unusual topography, Ariadelvento has had a long stint of self preservation and independence when concerned with it's sustainability as a nation. The land is less than hospitable, but does feature a breadth of flora and fauna, as well as sources of water and fish that allow the human settlements to survive. With time, clever breeding and resourceful plant cultivating, the citizens of Ariadelvento have managed to create powerful beasts of burden and enormous birds and transplant more durable fruit-bearing plants to their lands. While it does not hold one single resource as it's main export, the people of Ariadelvento often trade chattel to Tuono for their artisan crafts.
Relationships with other Nations:
The nation has historically held strong ties with Tuono, both politically and economically, and even to this day it's people continue a very natural and friendly exchange with each other to better business and sustainability. However with the reign of both Scarth Vandeel and the Other political relations have fallen apart.
While not hostile to any other parts of the world, the people of Ariadelvento have no special feelings towards any part of Allorum. They seem themselves as a island beyond islands, adrift and mostly separate of the dealings that effect the rest of the world. Likewise the Other holds no alliances with any nations nor has made any effort to seek them out since he took the throne.
Important/Unique Locations:
The Blasphemer's Caverns: Created many thousands of year ago when Ariadelvento was still part of Tuono, the Blasphemer's Caverns were a ancient network of tunnels that were used to hold criminals and fierce terrifying monsters that were too powerful to slay. Yet during a powerful religious reign by one of the tribes sent many men and women to rot in their for worshipping different gods, a revolt lead to the Caverns being overrun by the very beasts and criminals they had locked away. Decades turned the Caverns into the home of dark occults and savage beasts, where a labyrinth of tunnels and chambers kept any militaristic force from culling them out entirely.
Now, centuries later, the Blasphemer's Caverns are a rich tomb of history and evils. Many of the beasts and cults have died out with the change in climate and rule, and now the expansion of the tunnels has allowed for one of the easiest pathways to the sky-born nation, albeit a dangerous one without proper guidance. A single large tower from Tuono was erected to the lower peak of Ariadelvento's mass, where upon one may enter the lower tunnels, a hike that takes one day from bottom to surface.
Important Organizations:
The Sky Tamers: A coveted organization within the borders of Ariadelvento, these men and women are trained to speak with and command the winged beasts to their whim. While once an ancient order of warriors from hundreds of years ago, peaceful times and a growing dependance on a market of imports/exports has turned them into an guild that excels in trade, travel and transportation. They've long since branched out from Ariadelvento to many places within Allorum, offering fast, if a little expensive, transport, as well as several breeding camps to created tailored creatures to better suit the needs of the Sky Tamers.
Historical Tidbits:
The land holds a prominent community of worshipers and temples for the goddess of wind, travel and fortune Omidoss, who believe the rising of the continent was a miracle bestowed by her. There is also a strong group of mages and scholars that constantly perform research to determine why their kingdom is suspended in the air, with no answer in sight.
Famous for...:
The fact that it's the only floating nation in the whole world, and for the mysteries that lurk within it's many old ruins set beneath it's land mass.
Random Factoids:
Ariadelvento holds a similar topographical structure to that of Tuono, understandably due to them both originally being the same continent. The land has a naturally developed set of plains, hills, and valleys. There are only a few mountains, most of which are sparsely scattered across the kingdom.
However, do to its higher altitude the climate of Ariadelvento is colder, has thiner air and more powerful winds than it's sister kingdom. As a result many cold blooded reptiles were unable to survive, and only the most powerful and massive birds were able to survive and migrate back to it. The only trees that have survived since the kingdom's rising have been ones that can survive the bitter strong winds, leaving most of Ariadelvento devoid of flowers and frail plants.

As a result there almost no reptiles upon the land, and only the most powerful and massive birds and thick-coated mammals were able to survive and migrate back to it. Under the current rule of The Other the laws have changed, such that there are actual laws(as opposed to the rule of Scarth Vandeel). Having brought the land out from anarchy the Other holds close watch over his kingdom with a slew of the dark abominations that he has spawned as guards and police of his kingdom.
1)Any one found guilty of any violent crimes against the citizens of Ariadelvento are put to death by the Other himself, though only the first such incident was made public for the people to see.
2)All minor crimes(theft, property damage, etc.) are left to the individual cities to deal with.
3)All houses must offer up a pittance to the Other every month in the form of food. Failure to do so results in one member of the house being taken for him to do as he pleases.
