'If you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you'
In a place where darkness was thick like fog and the air lingered with the smell of rotten flesh. In a place which held things that not even nightmares could produce and a darkness that made night seem like a sunny morning. A place despite all the flames was intensely cold. This was Hellious, a place where no living person should enter.
There was a floating piece of rock that was slowly moving over a large arena. Below was like a Colosseum, with hundreds of dead souls fighting each other in form for their punishments.
A demon flew up to the rock, bowing low to the demon that was standing on it. "We have intruders..." the demon hissed to the very unhappy demon.
"Nobody as infiltrated Hellious for centuries. What poor creature wishes to be killed?"
"An Archangel..."
This caught its attention. It looked back down at the match and roared, the demons watching the match looking up with interest to what made their master angry.
"Mobilize the troops, boys! We have a hunt!" The roars from below were terrifying, the blood lust was enough to make the coldest of warriors cry.
Nobody was here to help them Mark and his team against the demons. They were on their own at this point.
--- Somewhere else in Hellious, a large warship came tumbling through what could best be described as a drainpipe, curving in all direction causing its passengers to fly all around them ship. If it wasn't for a barrier Mark put up it was likely everyone on the ship would have went overboard.
As with all drainpipes, it eventually came to a end, dumping everything into a pool of blood red water. Mark stumbled up from the flooring, his face aching from the many he had been slammed into the ship's deck.
"Guh..." Mark managed to get out, "My head feels like it just went through a blender. HOW DOES EVERYONE ELSE FEEL!?"

"Like I'm in Hellious." Yeligar said, not realized that he had made a bad pun. He looked around, and took in a deep breath. "Well this is it. Mark, shall I check the ship's status?"

"Yeah, do that..." Mark nodded while holding onto the railing for support, "Gods I hadn't expected a ride like that. I would've supplied everyone with bag to barf in if I knew..."
Mark straightened himself up when he could sense what was coming. The ship appeared to be at a port of some type with at least a dozen or so demons moving to the warship.
"Ah crap, YELIGAR. Make sure everyone is alive quickly because we've got company!"

The ship rocking around gave most of everyone a jolt but for Shanira, it was like some fantastic game where you tried not to bash your head into the walls and become permanently brain-damaged or worse. Right up her alley! The first bout of rocking made her bounce off of walls and the mast (albeit taking a whap as the boat lurched the opposite direction on her suddenly at points) until she 'fell off' and into the barrier covering the ship. Once there she kicked up her speed and used it as an excuse to run around, mostly to avoid being hurt. With her running as fast as she was along the barrier inside the ship she looked like a golden, glowing ball running in a loop until the ship finally stopped, flipping her upside down and causing her to fall to the deck with another rattling THUD. It barely kept her down as she leaped to her feet again, shaking off whatever pain she felt and saluted Mark. "Aba ve quo everet!" she shouted, alert and ready, Mark understanding her words as "I feel exercised!!!"

"Ugh," Mark groaned as he watched the demon near the warship. This would be a problem, he needed everyone up and ready.
He looked back at Shanira and gave a thumbs up, "Good work, M'lady. But if you thought THAT was fun just wait a moment because there will be a lot to do!"
He turned back to everyone and called out, "Alright everyone, use Lady Shinira here as an example and GET YOUR SORRY BUTTS UP."

Juno was up, dazed but up, she looked around and saw the demons approaching and frowned.
"I hope we're armed enough against these demons..."
Mark felt a tapping at his head and Eli, who got tangled in rigging waved.
"Hi um...help me out here? I got...stuck..."

Brea was sitting upside down (Against his own will of course) with his back to the railing going around the side of the ship. He had a sword plunged into the railing either side of him and was gripping onto them tightly, no doubt without them, he would have been thrown around like a rag-doll, something he didn't quite fancy doing. Collapsing un-ceremoniously onto his face, he picked himself up, brushed himself off, and wedged his swords out from the woodwork with a solid grunt. He kept them in his hands as he walked across to Mark and looked up at the trapped Eli, an eyebrow raised and his head cocked to the side.
"Well... You can't just hang around all day, can you?" resting his blades on the ground temporarily, he reached up with his now free hands and gripped some of the rigging, going about the process of freeing Eli from the ropes. It would have been easier to cut them, but it would also have been a damn stupid idea as well, if there was one thing he'd learnt whilst living in Unda it was that everything on a ship was important, and it was best not to sabotage anything accidentally.

Yeligar quickly pulled out his lance, as he heard the demons were coming towards the group. "Here, this should buy you guys some time!" Yeligar shouted, pressing the green blade into the lance, "Derecho Downfall!" A huge wall of wind was formed between the demons and the ship, hopefully buying some needed time for the group to assemble.

Shanira whipped around to face the wind barrier that Yeligar just placed, head tilting to the side in curiosity and awe for a brief moment before she ran to the side of the ship to see what Yeligar could see. Barriers were up for a reason, it meant protecting something, or keeping something else out.
What monsters would they find in Hellious? Something fairly obvious, right? Devil?! Demons? Shanira had honestly never seen them before, this whole trip to Hellious was like some super secret privilege for someone from Heaven (actually, it probably would have scared most...) that Felios was probably so going to flip his shit over when he found out she was here and not at the castle with Alexander this whole time.
But that was another thing Shanira had over the other 'high and mighty' Frexton guardians in Heaven. While they were on their perch playing with their stupid avatars she was here fighting the real fights!
And in Shanira's excitement she made a very gallant display of heroic stupidity, taking a running leap off of the ship and double-flipped to the ground below, sword pulled and charged on straight into enemy territory, completely disregarding the barrier as she took a lightning run through it.
"FOR THE KINGDOM!" her shouted words being foreign to anyone but Mark's ears.

The demons walked with a sense of authority and demand. The lead one completely cutting through Yeligar's wind barrier seemly without any effort. As Shanira approached the group the Demons stopped in their track before the lead one addressed her in a bellowing roar that would cause any normal person to turn around and run.
"Guardian!" The demon roared in a language Shanira would recognize, "Are you the foolish one leading this infiltration into our realm!?"

Shanira heard the leader of the demons speak out to her and she charged on, sword raised and readied to stri--wait speaking?! Civilly?!
Shanira's heels dug so deep into the ground then that she actually made a 'scrrrrreeechhh' sound as she forced herself to suddenly stop, sword swinging down to her side and lost her balance, landing with a perfect faceplant right in front of the group of demons she was about to behead. She scrambled to her feet and looked on at them with wide, confused eyes.
What blasphemy was this?! Felios said nothing but bad, horrible things about how demons thrive on attacking anything that came from Heaven, they were like...sugary snacks or something! They didn't want to talk or ask questions...was this some kind of trick?!
Despite her thoughts, Shanira stared on at the leader with confusion, though not fear at all as she pointed back towards the ship and answered, "No...he is there. I am protecting."
Exactly. Protecting. And if they made to make any move closer to the ship, she wouldn't let them! Any of them!

Mark leaped off the ship and landed on the 'dock' before looking over at the group of demons. He slipped his white hood over his head, knowing that the style of cloak would let the demons know who exactly they were dealing with.
They directed their attention towards Mark, their eyes studying him carefully as he approached the group.
"Archangel..." the lead Demon hissed, "We do not fear you. If you don't turn back right away Hellious will take this as a declaration of war from Heaven."
Mark stopped moving as he past Shanira. Getting so close to the Demon that their noses were just about touching, "We demanded the release of Kain Angelo and you denied it. You foolish worm, this isn't an infiltration..."
Suddenly more 'drainpipes' similar to the one they fell out of opened up, unleashing a powerful light as whatever was coming through neared the exit.
"This is a invasion!"
Suddenly angels came flying through the pipes, their wings emitting powerful lights as hundreds of angles flew into Hellious. The demons stared at the invasion force in complete shock before looking back at Mark, which was the last thing they saw. Mark's hand ripped into the lead demon's head before being exploded by a burst of light energy.
"Slaughter the demons!" Mark roared as the small force of demons were in complete disarray. Killing them would be the easy part.

Declaration of war? Hell vs. Heaven?
The archangel just exploded the speaking demon's head?!
Okay, now things were making a lot more sense. Shanira grinned, throwing her sword back up and resumed her charge into the demons with a loud, "FOR THE KINGDOM!" again, her first couple of steps towards a couple of the demons supposed to look like she was simply running towards them. After the third step, a bright light exploded from the bottom of her heels and in the next moment her foot was already connected to the face of one of the demons, kicking it fifteen feet backwards and whirling around with her sword to behead the one beside him, her favourite kind of surprise attack.
She let out an excited laugh. It wasn't enough that they were fighting simple enemies.
They were in Hellious, completely kicking the crap out of demons. Maybe the mortals of Allorum didn't quite get it, but for a being of Heaven like Shanira, this was the greatest day of her life.

Yeligar nodded as he held his lance out as the wind started to pick up violently, and finally compacted around Tempesta, making the lance look like a large drill bit. He jumped high above the demons, and then he came down, cutting through demons, and blowing a lot of them away, and or on their backs, making them lose their defenses. Fighting against demons... He thought to himself.

I swallowed hard as I emerged from the lower deck, all to well realizing the position I now found myself in. I had delved through some of the most dangerous places on Allorum; ruined mines in Roccia, ancient temples in the deep forests of Alberisato, the vast catacombs below Guasto, but none were quite so awe inspiring and terror inducing as this. It was Hellious, THE Helloius, and I couldn't help but feel rather misplaced in my self imposed test of heroics in that moment when I stepped out from below deck and bore witness to the scene.
I had done all I could to prepare myself, armed to the nines with all my magic gear as I stepped out into the fray, but somehow I didn't think any amount of arcane weaponry would've allowed me to feel any proper sense of preparation.
"Always read the fine print, Ingway. Always, always, always read the fine print, otherwise you end up on the shit end of the deal, like fighting demons in the goddamn underworld!"
It was all I could think in the moment. This was what happened when I stepped outside of my boundaries, and I felt all to accepting of my self-rebuking thoughts as I scanned the surrounding area of the ship and tried to formulate some kind of plan.
Whipping my hands to and fro, I produced a wealth of arcane blades from my gauntlets, Legion, that I position around myself as a first line of defence against attackers. Quickly drawing several arcane bolts with my dual rings, Sturmhimmel, I knelt down to better stabilize my aim, and sat in wait till I knew if we'd have to fight, hoping somehow that Mark might be able to find a diplomatic solution to our would be assailants.
But such was not the case. As Mark struck the first blow and angel after angel flooded into the netherworld, it all hit me; we we're invading, invading another realm, killing those that inhabited here for our own personal gain, and even more so, in the name of the gods, gods I long scorned for their fickle and uncaring interaction with us mortals.
My fists tightened as I felt nothing but anger and shame cover me like my cloak. This was not heroics, it was orchestrated barbarism. Us exerting the right of might over others, just as Duo was doing to our world, and...I was done. I'd have none of it. I'd be no tool of war for Mark, the gods, no one.
I stood in watch as those that I had looked upon as heroes took brazenly to the slaughter, no questions, no hesitations, and it made me realize that I was no hero, for it this was what being a "hero" was, then I'd stop myself from ever stooping so low.
With a swift motion of my hands, I disarmed myself of all my implements, and walked back into the are below deck, content to do nothing but ruminate upon the recent events, unable to prevent myself from juxtaposing the flow of this "mission" with those supplied by Seigmand.
I had always felt Seigmand was the secretive type, especially more so of late, but never had he mislead me. Everything was upfront. All tasks laid before me, all persons accounted for, and nothing beyond my knowledge of having to do. It was now more than ever that I had wished I'd simply reported back to him instead of going on this fools errand ,driven by some insane desire to stand in the limelight with these sword swingers.
