Player: Miri
Name: Kiba Takenaka
Description: A tallish, well-built young man with wild black hair and blue eyes. His dusky skin and exotic clothing are both signs of his tribal heritage, of which he is incredibly proud. Said clothing consists of a blue sarong-like garment over a short black shirt and black leggings, along with necklaces and an earring that place him as a member of the Takenaka clan.
Age: 22
Personality: A difficult personality to describe, Kiba is incredibly laid-back about some things and fiercely defensive about others. He is prideful about his heritage and incredibly loyal to his friends, but feels free to sit back and make snarky comments and generally not much care about any uproar he might be in the middle of.
Place of Origin/Home: Alberisato
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Occupation: Captain of Alberisato
Equipment: N/A
Weapons: An odd-looking metal bladestaff, with two blades intersecting to make each 'blade', rater than a single blade on each end.
Combat: Kiba's fighting style involves mostly wild, hectic strikes with his bladestaff and acrobatic movement designed to take absolute advantage of terrain.
More interesting, though, are his magical augmentations, which he refers to as "Nature's Blessings", a technique (described below) that is unique to and passed down through his clan.
Magic: Nature's Blessings -
A tribal technique that allows the user to draw out an aspect from nature and imbue it within their weapon, allowing for weapon strikes augmented with elemental power. Currently, Kiba has mastered several Blessing techniques, which he categorizes into three main 'modes' between which he can switch at will - Striker, Stinger, and Stalwart.
Striker utilizes mainly offensive Blessings, such as lightning strikes or flame attacks, which augment his weapon's natural damage with Nature's deadliest forces.
Stinger is a much more subtle mode, adding Blessings to the weapon which disable an enemy with various poisons drawn from the more insidious side of Nature - paralyzing agents, strikes which weaken an opponent's offensive capabilities, and other such things.
Stalwart is an entirely defensive mode, utilizing BLessings which increase Kiba's own defense and ability as Lamuria's bodyguard, turning him into a defensive colossus with a guard of steel.
Flaws: One of Kiba's largest combat flaws is he can't mix and match abilities from different 'modes' of Blessing - and he can't use more than one Blessing on his weapon at a time.
Personality-wise, his laid-back, snarky nature has a tendency to get him (and Lamuria) into trouble with others quite a bit. The natural talent to cause an uproar, and then sit, perfectly calmly, as everything explodes around him, has been known to drive others up the wall. But watch out for his temper as well - if the comments get a little bit too close to home, he can lose that calm, zen mode in an instant, going up in a spectacular flashbang that can be detrimental to his health and that of those around him.
The easiest way to get him to lose his head is to threaten those he cares about in any way. He'll chase you to the ends of the earth - even if his time is best spent elsewhere.
History: Kiba once served with Lamuria during the King's days as a lowly soldier in the Alberisatoan army. Despite a rocky start, the two slowly became good - if acidic - friends, each coming to be a fighter the other could rely on. Lamuria's scythe techniques and plant magic complimented the tribesman's odd style of combat more than any other team within the army, and they found themselves being paired up more and more by their commanding officers... partially owing to the fact that the somewhat laid-back (if fiercely loyal) Kiba was one of the few who could tolerate his flamboyant partner.
When Kiba's required service in the army was over, he returned to his clan, leaving his friend to rise higher within the ranks of Alberisato's army, eventually obtaining the honored position of Captain under Queen Lilith. During the Sumata War, the Takenaka clan, along with several other Alberisatoan tribes, retreated into the forest and hid in a sort of careful balancing act of near-support for the queen while distancing themselves from the Sumata in general.
After Lilith's death and Lamuria's (rocky) rise to the position of King, the newly-minted ruler found himself without a captain, and immediately thought of his 'old war buddy'. In a bid to regain the support of the tribes, he personally visited Kiba's village and asked his friend to come out of retirement and accept the now-vacant position.
Kiba, well-respected by his village and understanding his friend's somewhat-desperate position, accepted. Together again, the two are ready to take on the world (and accepted convention) one step at a time...
Other: Kiba (in his tribal gear) and Lamuria (in his old uniform). You guys can officially kill me now
