Super Funtime Combat Tournament Supreme 2!

Greetings everyone once again from the Battle Arena!

Feeling the hunger for combat and mayhem rumbling my belly, I've decided to try and start another writing tournament to determine who shall reign supreme in the non-canonnical combat ring.

For those who missed the first one, or just want a good 'ol review on the rules, they are as follows:
1. Players can submit up to 2 characters for the tournament. You may submit only 1 if you should so choose. Submission due date is by midnight on February 5th.
2. To submit please reply to this thread with a single replying post indicating your character(s) for the tournament.
3. On February 6th I will release the tournament roster on this thread, showing the brackets and who your first fight will be.
4. Each player must submit a write up of the 1st round fight where their character wins in the end by February 20th. Please submit the fight in the "Omake Section" of the Chat board under the title of "Round 1: _____ vs_____" Under extenuating circumstances you can pm me on this account for an extension, otherwise, so as not to slow everyone else up, failure to submit a fight account will result in a loss by default.
5. On February 21th I will post polls for the fights where each player is allowed 1 vote per fight to decide which one they enjoyed more. You are free to decide your own criteria for determining who won.
6. Further scheduling will be released as the event continues.

Please remember that this is solely for fun and is non-canon in all ways. All characters stand a chance regardless of how powerful they're suppose to be in canon. Likewise there is to be no complaining about how other players write your characters, their combat style or their use of tactics and special moves. It would be cool to see people try and write other characters as faithfully as possible, but no one is to be badgered if they don't have your character fight exactly as you'd want them to, especially if the info isn't in your character's profile.

To further expand, it is recommended that for the full effect in writing a battle for both sides, a players profile, specifically magic/combat sections, should be written out in detail so that both writers might be able to have all abilities accessible to them and full knowledge of how they are used. Please refrain from making up powers on the fly for these fights, as the point is in how you use what your character has at their disposal to win, not how they can create new abilities so they can win.

That all said and done, I'm hoping that people will take interest and we can have some wonderfully cool and jaw-dropping battles ensue to put everyone on the edges of their seat in anticipation. This is purely a supplementary thing for players to do should they just want to have some fun with something tangental on the site, and should not override you interest in the main plot, so if you feel you'll be stuck for time and unable to fully participate, please reconsider applying so that others are not left hanging without a proper person to face, for victory is only sweetest when it is earned!

That said, best of luck to all future combatants and I look forward to seeing who shall take up sword and shield, magic and might, pencil and paper (so to speak ) and engage your adversaries in the SUPER FUNTIME COMBAT TOURNAMENT SUPREME 2!

The clock has struck 12 and as such it is time for the carnage and mayhem to begin! But before we you can bare witness to your rival and begin your path down the written road to victory, one must know the rules of the road, for in this battle, it's one way, or the highway...which is bad...so...yeah

*Ahem* Anyway, rules for Round 1 are as follows:
1: Writers choose the destination of combat for their account of the battle. This can be the lush forests of Alberisato, a pristine beach off the coast of one of the many Undian islands, the intense and barren waste of the Ignisian Burning Forest, or whatever else comes to mind. Be it to your characters advantage, to your enemies, or simply for flavour and spectacle, the choice is your.
2: These fights are NOT to be to the death. Though I know this is non-canonical and as such deaths are not something that technically matter, I still realize the potential annoyance of seeing that your character "die" and that some might hold this as a point of contention, especially should their character die in a winning fight. Characters may be hurt, wounded, cut, stabbed, yadda yadda, but fights are to end by non-lethal means, a.k.a. surrender, knocked unconscious, black out from exhaustion, the choice is yours.
3: It is assumed for the sake of this tournament that no character has any previous knowledge of any of the characters, their powers, combat style, personal history, or anything really. That said, anything your character does in the your battle becomes known to combatants for later fights. Do you play your trump card first to try and achieve victory with style and power, or play the cunning and guile-some combatant, saving your ace maneuver for a later moment? Remember, everything is about creating the most interesting and fun battle to read, so think before you write.
4: All battles start face to face. That simple, no exception.
5: HAVE FUN! So help me God if you don't have fun! *shakes fist*

So yeah, those are the rules for Round 1, so please abide by them, as failing to do so will be something that reflects negatively against you as a writer.

Also, a bit of a side note as I couldn't find a good place to put this, but be sure to UPDATE YOUR PROFILES if you haven't, as per the reasons stated on my first post. Should you want to go one step further, PM or Skype/MSN/whatever with your adversaries and ask questions. Inquire about powers, combat styles, flaws, heck, if ya wanna spark an interesting thought/conversation, ask your adversary what thing would cause their character to loose. So yeah, do that...cause that would be a neat thing to consider. But yeah, so final call for updates and what not.

Annnyway, there you are fighters. Sway not like a brittle ash against the winds fear, but stand tall, like the mighty oak, and brace yourself against your foe, for in this battlefield where then pen IS mightier then the sword, only with unwavering heart, mind and hand shall you achieve victory!

Greeting once again combatants,

It has come to my attention that as the date of combat draws ever closer, growing ever more visible like the mighty sunrise as it cuts the dark of night, that some participants feel as if several more days are necessary to get them into the best possible condition for the test of might to ensue. As such, I shall be issuing a global extension, pushing the due date of ALL fights till the end of the Feb 22nd.

I encourage all contestants to use this time to better prepare themselves and review their battle plans, make edits as they see fit and prepare to lock blades with their opponents, as these next couple days shall be the last days you have before we see if the masses lift you up on the pedestal of victory, or cast you down the void of defeat.

I once again want to thank everyone who has chosen to participate, as it is you who make this little tournament fun, interesting and worthwhile, and I, as I'm sure all others, look forward to seeing the creative and exciting battles that spring forth from the imaginations of all our combatants.

I apologize for my prolonged absence and the subsequent delay to the tournament and such, but I've returned and as such the combat shall continue and the submissions shall end tonight at the strike of midnight.

You've all had several extras days to get your fighters ready, and perhaps they'll have served you well, ushering you towards victory, or perhaps you opponent was able to capitalize on the impromptu extension more effectively, wrestling the reign of victory from your hands and steering themselves towards the second round. But such matters shall be up to you, the players, when the voting polls open tomorrow.

Read, evaluate and ready your votes for then.

Even though voting has just open we do have a few contestants that have passed on to round 2.

Enizo and Katina both move on by merit of their opponents being a no show.

Look back in a couple days when votes are all cast and tallied and I'll release the roster for Round 2.

Alright, Round 1 has come to a close and as such it is time to reveal the results and move contestants into the second round.

That said, there are a few things that must be dealt with before we can move on.
1: For future purposes, any votes counted that do not possess a tandem post shall be rendered null and void. Not posting can allow for skewed vote counts and I want to make sure that everyone is playing by the rules here. It was stated on each poll that you needed to post and it only takes a second or two to do it, so please abide by that rule.

2: The fight of Andy vs. Natalya has ended in a draw, and being the runner of this tournament and a person who had not voted on that fight, I'll shall be using my vote to break the 2-2 split present on that fight. The winner shall be viewable in the roster for Round 2 below.

3: I've noticed in several stories that people have tried circumventing the "Do not kill other's characters" rule by stating it comically, or making the off comment that it's cool cause it didn't really happen or something to that effect. I put the rules, all the rules, there for a reason, and I would ask once again that people abide by them. They are they to try and make things more orderly and to try and avoid any potential hurt feelings, as whether people are willing to admit it or not, I know nobody likes to see descriptions of how their character was murdered/killed/turned into chunky salsa, be they comical,non-cononical or otherwise.

Remember, this is for fun, but this is also a semi-competition, and I'd like to try and emphasize the rules without needed to apply any form of penalties for those neglecting them.

So, once more, I urge all contestants to READ THE RULES and take them to heart for later battles, please and thank you.

REMEMBER!
- writers choose the destination of combat
- Fights are NOT to be to the death
- maneuvers and powers used in Round 1 are known to your opponent in Round 2. Yes, some players are at an advantage due to no need to fight in Round 1, but in a competition where it how interesting the battle is, this can play to your advantage if used right.
- Combat starts face to face, like a real tournament bout would.
- And most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Submissions deadline is in in 3 weeks time, making them due on the 29th of March with possible extension time ending at the end of March on the 31st. Please make sure to request extra time if needed, as I shall close submissions and open polls asap if I receive no messages asking for extensions by the 29th.

With all that said, let the "write of might" begin!
