How did this start again...? Alessia asked herself as she spat clumps of dirt from her mouth before looking back up at the woman who was feeding it to her. Oh right, now I remember...
Half an hour earlier...
“And who are you, again...?” The older woman known as Annabelle asked Alessia, who stood among the steam of the hot springs in somewhat insulted stance.
“My name is Alessia, of the Saints!” Alessia repeated once more, “Surely you have heard of me!?”
“No,” Annabelle answered bluntly, “Now move aside, the hot spring is calling me.”
Here was where the problem was, Kain had specifically told Alessia to wait here for the rest of the Saints, not to allow anyone past her...
But this woman standing in front of her had power signatures through the roof, she's like some sort of lion!...
Of course... if she were a lion, she would not want the water... so what does that make her? Does it make her a-
“Hey, airhead!” Annabelle called out, interrupting Alessia's train of thought, “Move along already!”
Alessia's eyes widened at Annabelle's words, she slammed her foot on the ground in a fit of anger, pointing her finger at Annabelle defiantly and calling out, “Y-Y-You're a evil witch! Yes, that's what you are -A EVIL WITCH!”
Annabelle stared blankly over at Alessia. For the love of the gods, she just wanted to bathe in the hot springs!
“Listen Miss Alessia 'Airhead', do you understand how long it takes for me to get up here? This is the one thing in this world I love. Well, maybe not as much as I love teasing my granddaughter about the men she brings home, but that's another story!” Annabelle held out her staff, channeling through it sparks of electricity, “If you don't move I'll make you move.”
“Bring it, witch.” Alessia's eyes illuminated with solar energy. The output of the energy caused the two power flows to clash together, the result being all the steam was slowly being pushed away.
There was a moment where the two just stared each other down, both waiting for the other to make the first move. Finally it happened - Annabelle pulled back her left hand, allowing the power of Asmalat to flow around her surroundings. The thick magic caused the steam from the water to dance along with the dark sparks of energy, making something of a poetic dance of mist and darkness.
“Let's see how you like it when darkness forces you out of the way!” Annabelle cackled before unleashing the powerful magic – it sprung from her hand in a form of a thin, dark line before expanding into a wide wave which was only visible by the dark edges and waves of steam it pushed away.
“Yikes!” Alessia gasped before raising her hands towards the approaching dark wave.
Alessia focused, calling on the solar energy that was stored in her tattoo. She felt it light up, the warm sensation quickly spreading throughout her body, gathering onto the tips of her fingers and springing from them with bounding leaps of light particles that quickly formed into a beam of intense solar energy.
The powers clashed between the two women. The magic was fighting for dominance in a fashion that pushed all surrounding steam away as if it were a helicopter descending onto a vast wasteland.
Suddenly the magic link broke, causing a brief fluctuation of wind that blew against Alessia and Annabelle.
“Well, well...” Annabelle said while rolling up the sleeve of her long cloak, “This is going to be fun...”
Boom...
Boom...
It was almost like thunder, the sound that is made when powerful magic clashes. And as the half hour marker went by for their fight, more and more powerful magic clashed.
Alessia skid to her knees, using her one hand to keep balance and the other to fend off the increasingly attacks from Annabelle.
Finally the kickback from the power to too much to take and Alessia went flying backwards, going face first into the dirt.
How did this start again...? Alessia asked herself as she spat clumps of dirt from her mouth before looking back up at the woman who was feeding it to her. Oh right, now I remember...
Kain had given Alessia instructions to hold the hot springs, and she'd be damned if she let some old witch steal it from her.
“Okay, fine... let's dance,” Alessia bowed her head lowly to the confused Annabelle before taking a step back from the woman. A confused Annabelle shrugged before firing a bolt of dark lightning right at Alessia.
The lightning strike flew straight towards her, Alessia drew back and spun out of the way in such an elegant fashion. As she spun the steam around her seemed to move with her, with small bubbles of light floating along as well.
Annabelle frowned, what is that foolish girl doing, is she dancing? Annabelle asked before deciding it'd be best to make her stop dancing with a couple more bolts.
Three fired off and Alessia just danced right around them, more and more of the bubbles of light floating around her. It took five more bolts of dark lightning when Annabelle noticed the increasingly large amount of 'light bubbles' that were floating around them.
“What is she planning...?” Annabelle asked herself before Alessia leaped up into the air and landed just a little bit away from Annabelle.
Alessia looked up at Annabelle with violent light filled eyes, “It's over.”
Suddenly Alessia held out her hands and all the bubbles of light formed around her before popping themselves and unleashing such a terrible wave of power of light that it would fry anything that it touched.
“Oh no!” Annabelle yelled before holding up her staff and summoning a strong barrier. The barrier took the blow... making the blast of light like a powerful kick, which meant the barrier acted like the ball it kicked.
Annabelle rolled down the mountain while cursing out at the 'airhead'.
Alessia didn't see it and she fully assumed she had just burned the witch away. Smiling at her victory she turned around to see Kain and the rest of the Saints approaching her.
“It was a success, sir!” Alessia said with a thumbs up, “I destroyed all approaching enemies!”
“H-Huh?” Kain asked, “What are you talking about?”
“An evil witch wanted to take the hot springs!” Alessia tried to explain, waving her hands around frantically, “BUT I TOOK CARE OF HER. DON'T WORRY.”
“...” Kain didn't respond at first, staring into her eyes he absorbed her memories and what he saw shocked him terribly, “OH GOOD GODS, ALESSIA. THAT WAS A JOKE. YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSE TO KILL ANYONE!”
“W-what...?”
