((So as I said on the book of face:
"... my re-write now consists of me vaguely remembering where I left off with them and having THAT be the starting point. But that's kinda okay 'cause that was the part that was actually getting entertaining and interesting LOL" again sorry it's late D: ))
Armos's Day in Santo-Luce was basically a big day off for the entire country, with many small and large gatherings across the nation to celebrate and appreciate the gift of a warm sun and all the joy and food it essentially (directly or not) brought. The 'Sunshine' festival specifically on the Bright Beach was something that happened annually and attracted many locals and even foreign visitors; like every year it had started out the way it normally had: artists, dancers, merchants the world over gathered in one spot to sell wares and souveniers while much music and dancing was had. People dressed up and had themselves a nice, carefree party in the sun until very late in the evening most years.
The only thing that made this day any different this time was that around noon-thirty this particular day during the time in which the bands in the 'centre stage' were just switching up startled shrieks were heard as two figures tore through the crowd. Or rather one did, and that was the golden-skinned angel guardian, Shanira, who easily bulldozed over several men with their children with her head whipping about frantically, ever-searching for where her target had disappeared to. Her eyes scanned impatiently over the dozens of heads and gawdy, goofy hats that some of the civilians wore, eager to get a glimpse of where he would be next.
To the right, Shanira caught sight of a figure leaping out of a young girl's shadow out of her peripherals and without even a hint of hesitation Shanira pounced upon him. In the blink of an eye she'd managed to move from her location to nearly twenty feet away, leaving no sign of where she'd been or how she'd gotten there aside from several festival guests suddenly all falling over each other and yelling, "who pushed me?!" and one highly unfortunate soul who was knocked backward into a barrel of fish.
She showed up with no chance for him to defend himself and with a swift kick obliterated the stomach of something very squishy and not very boney at all...it wasn't the green-haired Dios, but rather some shadowy creature she'd destroyed instead that employed the same movements as he did...
"Another one!?" Shanira blurted, blinking as her eyes again darted around the area before balling her fists and shrieking, "AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH!!!"
Dios himself lurked in the shadows of a fruit stand, having watched the last ten minutes or so the celestial warrior tear through and destroy everything in her path at horrific speeds, including but certainly not limited to every one of his little decoys he'd set out for her. He relished in the priviledge to watch her repeatedly fall for the trick and more amused than he probably should have been to watch her anger rise with every failed attempt she'd made to find him.
"Avi herav tie vet nameaha!" she screamed out at the sky. It meant 'I'm going to kill you', but to Dios it meant 'I'm winning.'
Shanira's eyes narrowed as she ceased all movement and briefly went over what she'd learned in the last thirty minutes; watch all the shadows, watch everything, and small mortal children apparently had nothing else better to do than to use her hair as a toy if she allowed them to get ahold of it. Up till now she'd barely hit him, Dios disappeared on her almost immediately and stayed well hidden, building up a series of distractions while he waited for a chance to pounce. It probably would be going a lot better if Shanira didn't have a habit of making quick work of said distractions.
That was whenthe greatest thing in DIOS'S LIFE OF ALL. TIME. a miracle happened and small children decided to make themselves useful in ways that didn't involve murder, for when the next of Dios's little shadowy minions made its appearance Shanira felt a horrible extra weight pulling at the back of her head. She growled as she turned her head as slowly as she could without forcing the brown-haired, drooling toddler that had a firm grasp on her ponytail through the air and possibly into a display shelf of conveniently placed glass objects.
"No!" Shanira scolded the child, along with a couple of other common-mortal-language words she was used to hearing herself, "bad girl!" She did as Alexander typically did, standing up tall and raising one index finger up high like a guillotine blade, just enough to get her attention before she swung it down with a threatening shake at the child. Now this truly never had an affect on Shanira herself as she stared and blinked at him instead and then resumed her behaviour of choice anyway so it really shouldn't have surprised her when the little girl did the very same thing. It didn't make it any less frustrating though, and as the small girl gave the guardian's hair a yank instead of backing off Shanira found herself growling more, interrupted and paused again as several more rugrats made an appearance to see the 'funny lady' and wailing 'MEEE TOOOOOO' in a horrid orchestra of shrieks and cries.
"Abaet vi!!!!" Shanira shouted, completely outnumbered and really not feeling the love today for a reprimanding if she were to punt a few of the brats out of her way. As 'Foxy' she'd have given up running from children and their sticky, snotty hands for petting and slump to the ground until they eventually tired of giving her attention (that and she couldn't lie that she didn't enjoy the petting)--but right now she was left wide open for an expert assassin. As violently as she could without actually hurting anyone she shook her head and body to shake off all of the little bratty kids, allowing herself finally at least a foot of space to call her own.
And then Shanira felt something kinda heavy clamp onto her foot. Somehow through the group of kids around her she had but a few moments to notice some kind of metal chain attached to her, registering it was 'probably trouble' in her brain a little too late as a force commanding said chain suddenly yanked and down Shanira went, face-planting into the sand.
'You are KIDDING ME...' she thought, while laying facedown and throwing her arms outward to pull herself up and rip this thing off but as she did so several more dug themselves into her and rendered her immobile.
"...Hah. Ha ha ha..." Shanira chuckled to herself as the excited kids swarmed around her again and grabbed her hair, pulling it all in different directions, and only just before she squirmed and swore loudly at her predicament.
It really didn't last too long, though for those few moments to Shanira it felt like forever probably because she wasn't doing the one thing she was good at doing, which was moving. She was going to sit here and appreciate the petting she got as long as the kids didn't leave gunky food in her hairwhich they already did she could feel it, fail this battle, and then have to remember it by reminding herself she was 'too slow' to move out of the way or 'too slow' to shake off some stupid school children and their little siblings. She was going to remember it by being stuck her in his stupid trap, giving him just enough time to finally show up and finish her off because she was too slow to get out of that, too.
Shanira stared ahead of her, through the people shuffling around in front of her she could see the ocean, stretching far over the horizon and somehow seeing it inspired her. She loved running. She was the one who could travel the world in seconds, be here and gone in the blink of an eye. She was the fastest, and there wasn't a damn thing faster than her, especially some little...shadow...man thing with a sorry haircut!
"Oh HELL NO, this isn't happening!" she snarled, raising her voice so wherever Dios was he could hear her and thankfully loud enough that some of the kids became quite startled and ran off crying, "you hear me?! I'm not going down like THIS!" Now whether or not Dios could actually understand her was a different story, but all the same the man launched out at her with all intent of clubbing down his win when her tethered feet started pulling him along instead, starting as a very slow, resisting walk but quickly she threw herself into a running motion, an explosion of bright light enveloping her as she was highly intent of running her way out of this...or taking him with her! Catching Dios entirely off-guard as he hadn't expected her to actually be able to escape, he stumbled forward seconds before the chains on her exploded and the girl in a disturbing flash of light tore off through the beach and leaving a nice trench that lead stretched out into the ocean. Dios was given a moment to blink at the strange sight, a little confused by why of all places she'd have chosen the ocean to run out into.
In even the few seconds that he was left distracted was all that Shanira needed, having blitzed off overseas, through Ketulunanox and Ignis on the other end of the world, the celestial warrior let all of her anger out in the form of an attack that he literally didn't even know happened until sometime after she hit him; having run around the world gave her the opportune chance to attack Dios's back, of which she enjoyed doing by leaping, legs up and upon connecting with his back following through with a kick that...probably should have killed him by tearing his body apart in a bloody, intestine-slinging gooey mess. Good thing this isn't real. His unconscious body actually ended up hanging on the flagpole of Xiza's castle tower.
Shanira, your overly-dramatic winner.
