Question for you Bleach Fans

Hey guys, okay so what I'm about to say might get me some flak, so I'm going to try and put this as delicately as possible.

First off, I've got nothing against Bleach. AT ALL. If you like the idea of playing a character from the series, as long as your a good RPer cool. This being said, I've noticed that we have 5 or so characters that if not based, are direct copies of the characters from the series. People seem to be using the exact same attacks, same powers, etc etc. and so on. Again cool, no problem.

Now I'm not an expert on the series, but are we having the Esparda able to do their transformation? If so, how and why can they? Is the Orihime character able to heal and so on because of her hairclip fairies? Again, why does she have these fairies? It would only be an issue because if these people aren't from Earth or wherever the Hollows come from, then why do they have the exact same powers, and strange hunks of bone jutting from their bodies?

Maybe I'm getting off track. In the end, all that I want is to make sure is that this isn't going to become a Bleach in Crepusculum game. Afterall, there's a ton of other great anime, and movies, and whatever else that have cool characters with awesome attacks that would be fun to play as. I'm just asking that maybe we put a cap on how many direct copies from one series we'd allow. After all, I don't want to see another 3 or 4 people coming from TWEWY because it takes all the fun out of it.

If this really offends anyone, or they don't think I have any right to say this, then by all means please pm me and tell me your side. If I get a lot of negative feedback then I'll just take this post down and we'll forget this was ever posted. I'm only saying this because I've seen what can happen to forums when one fandom gets too large a majority on an original story forum.

We are very much aware of this, and aware that as well. Half of the Bleach characters is my doing, I only intended three [Andy, Kevin, Zelos]. I made only one more because Yeligar wanted some more Captians.

Yeligar made one, my brother made two, so I guess you could say the growing Bleach thing is my fault.

BUT. Does this mean it's going to turn to a Bleach thing? Um...no. And in defense of Andy, he's actually a mix of Ichigo and Kenpachi in some ways. And Andy doesn't really have a family like Ichigo does, he was a loner before coming to Crepusculum.

As for the Bankai thing...creative juices were lacking, when I come up with a better name I'll use it. But not everyone, as seen, is using Bleach characters so it's not going to become a Bleach rp.

A tip though: I'd recommend PMing next time. It saves some of the players from not feeling embarresed because of their character choices.

*prods Zeke* ^^ Honey, I know you already know my views on this as we've been over this a zillion times offline...

Though, because it's already been posted to the public let me just squeeze in this:

Those who don't know (and by now, a very few of you shouldn't know this), I RPed in a multi-fandom RPG something like five-six years ago - something kind of like this, but not quite...either way, it was fantastic.

The place, as well, adopted a Rukia. From there, we went from an NPC Ichigo to a real one being controlled by a player, and then from there, in a matter of two weeks the entire place EXPLODED with the entire Bleach cast, I swear.

We roleplayed actually quite happily for almost a year! I kid you not, it was fantastic. In the end, what spoiled the fun for everyone was that the girl playing Rukia changed plots that had already been done, already been closed (ie: Long story short, we somehow managed to have Donkey Kong destroy parts of a building and then months later after we did this Rukia decided to change it to "Oh no, that wasn't Donkey Kong, that was a hollow! ") - and then went on to god-modding and forcing plots on people without asking them first.


At this time, I see no problem with the mass amount of Bleach characters. I'm perfectly content as long as we're not straying from the main plot of the entire game ^^

...And as long as I kill off Jasmine's mother, Hala, and someone does NOT go writing in "LOLOL LIEK OMG SHE = HOLLOW NAO". Because then you shall feel my wrath as I DO NOT WANT THAT.



In conclusion (on my part, anyway), I've two things yet to say:

1.) *pats Andy* I agree with you on the PMing issue
2.) Zeke, I don't think it'll be beneficial to delete the post now that it's been published and people have seen it, even if it has only been admins at the moment. =/ If my colleagues disagree, they can delete it but I've always been one of those "you can't erase what happened" kind of people, especially on the internet.

Hey guys! I just saw this post, and I'm glad it was resolved.

My personal issues on certain things that have been said aside, I do have a couple poitns to add to this.

First - I really hope the roleplay has been going on satisfactorily, and will not, in the future, turn into "lets see what we can rip off next" as I believe that, while people do have the right to play characters from other fanbases, they at least should modify them to fit story. In my opinion, that's been happening very well and the people have been very responsible with the whole alternate-fanbase thing. I'm also happy that, while people have been taking from other fanbases, the world is very well-populated with OCs and such and this place is, for the time being, running smoothly.

Second point - I really agree with this one piece of the original post:

Maybe not the cappign things, because this is a free forum, but I definitely think that yes, there are a ton of other cool places to get stuff from, and I hope we all continue to have fun making new and exciting copies and OCs to play with. Also, in regards to the TWEWY thing... I really like your decision to take OCs from the universe instead of actual characters. it gives someone more creative freedom and such... not that I'm saying I have something against what Andy and Yeligar did with taking actual characters from Bleach.

What I'm really saying is that with characters taken directly from a series, there's always the possibility of fan-lashback - I know what it's like to have an interpretation of a character and get ruthlessly bashed for it because other fans think it's "wrong" or "bad," especially in the vein of pairings/temperament/etc. There's also the possibility of getting bashed yourself for taking from a hated fanbase, something I've also been a victim of.

HOWEVER. As I said before, I'm not against any kind of characters from any kind of fanbase, except those that go against our official rules or are deliberately causing trouble for no reason. If you want to directly steal from a series, that's fine. If you wanna tweak a character from your fanfiction, that's fine too.

In the end, though, please try and at least create your own unique hook with things. Case in point - while many of Andy's characters are taken from Bleach in appearance and personality (and, I'll admit, fighting style), all of them have creative and unique backstories that fit well with our CR world. Zelos Shinigami, whose wife and cildren died tragically many years ago in an attack by the beast Griever, which leaves him chasing the mysterious loner Andy Jammer who berrs the beast.

So, I'm sorry for getting in a final word after all this has been closed for months, but I just wanted to put in my two cents on this ^^

Although these thoughts are very appericated and are an interesting insight...this thread is over and done. I'd kinda advise people not to bring up such a delicate subject between rpers. As Jas said above, Pm instead. But thank you for the insight anyway, if you can show your two cents then good.

All Admin-can't-take-a-side from this aside, I agree that this is a free forum [albiet a rule or two concerning characters] and should have decisions on who/what people base characters off of.
