Many times when she appears, she sports a pair of black, feathered wings...

Personality: A little mysterious to those she encounters, but it's all a front, hiding a wry sense of humor and a unique outlook on life and everything else. She acts like she knows more than she's letting on, which she does, but also because it amuses her to see people's reactions. She always has a joke or comment right at hand, and she's actually very friendly once you break past her guard.

Equipment: Sometimes carries a sword, but only when she's prepared for combat - the police don't exactly take kindly to people carrying sharp objects.
Weapons: The sword mentioned above is her only weapon. it has a distinct appearance, a guardless longsword with engravings in the blade visible only in darkness.
Combat: She relies mostly on speed, being faster and more agile than most people. She also combines ranged and melee capabilitiies, often using her ranged abilities as an edge over short-range combatants or to distract her enemies while she follows up with a charge into hand-to-hand. She rarely fights from a distance if she can close on an opponent. She also enjoys her aerial capability. Despite this strange combination of attacks, her style is amazingly graceful to watch.
Magic: Miri is skilled in Water-based spells and abilities, as well as an old acquaintance with the darkness. Since magic on Earth is not very powerful, she uses them more as a supplement rather than a main attack, giving her her odd mish-mash attack style.
Flaws: Miri is just a teenager and thus, despite her knowledge, etting others to listen to her advice is tough. She's also got the physical strength of a teenage girl - an above-average teenage girl, but a teenage girl. Thus, she must rely on her speed and agility in combat, leaving her at a disadvantage in cramped conditions and against those physically stronger but just as fast.
History: Miri's past is a mystery, although it can be assumed most of it is like any other Earth native's. Still, sometime in the past something happened to give her her strange gifts. When asked, all she does is smile and change the subject, although references to her past do have a tendency to slip out. What is known about her is that she is more than passingly familiar with the element of darkness, as well as the existence of other worlds, including Allorum to a small degree. She also seems to have some kind of connection with Alex (the Captain), but what it is or how that's possible is unknown even to Alex himself. She calls herself a "Guardian."
This, it turns out, means that she guards the barriers that separate Earth from other worlds such as Allorum, and prevents those with ill intentions from getting through. She seems to believe that Alex betrayed her at some point in the past, but Alex has no memory of it. She has started to warm up to him, beginning to believe that he truly doesn't remember a thing, but it will take a long time before she really believes it.
Since the end of the Sumata War, she has returned to Earth to continue her duties alongside her boyfriend, Michael Bayloh. She has been teaching Kouichi to harness the powers of darkness the way the Guardians do, through direct manipulation of the element in conjunction with the energy from within one's soul, rather than tapping the mana within the air itself, of which there is very little on Earth.
