Hey, guys! It had only occurred to me a few weeks ago that I have not one, but three people in my life that are actually graduating from highschool this year. =/
This morning is my sister's grad and as such, I'll be on and off all day...maybe. I might just be gone to party with her all day haha.
Regardless, I have a couple of things to share with you folks who are graduating this year.
1.) If you thought you were broke before, you haven't seen anything yet.
2.) No, you are not an adult. You are a child until you are at least thirty years old - then you turn into an old ****
3.) Don't let someone spend the day alone. Even if they were a jerk to you, seriously, it's the most rewarding thing in the whole world to approach them and hold out your hand - they'll remember it, and the feeling is absolutely magical (yes, I do have a story if you really want to ask to hear it).
5.) The goal for your life should be to live cheap but look like a million bucks - seriously, they won't know XD
6.) If you realized there was no number 4 in this list, the good news is that you can still count. Very good news.
7.) After grad is a whole new adventure, and one of those ones where you decide what happens rather than a teacher or parent. That being said, try not to let "mistakes" that you make bring you down - sometimes some of the mistakes you make turn out to be one of the best things you ever did =/
8.) College is all about the fine art of ass-kissing. If you can't do that, you'll either fail or you'll have too much trouble trying to make it through. Srsly.
9.) Yes, your first-year college classes ARE hard. Why? Because they're trying to weed out the weaklings - suck up the low marks and quit your "I had A+'s in highschool!!" belly-aching, you baby. And then re-read #8.
10.) If you have the choice, don't take full classloads in college/uni. Keep work and class balanced, and give yourself time to go out with friends.
Seriously? Too much classwork will drive you crazy and your family/friends will never hear from you - you can always go to school with money and it'll totally wait for you, but you know damn well your life won't hit the 'pause' button. And what's the point in having the life if you won't live it?
Now that being said, I have to go back to the university for my sis's cap and gown ceremony Of course, I've printed this off and will be giving it to her as well. Take care and love you all~
And congratulations. You survived round 1.
