OKAY, so. Guys, it's been awhile since I've coloured something hahahaaaa, but I have some of the drawings I put up last time in colour now!! Oooooooooh.....

Just to get the comic out of the way...

You know, I never mentioned it last time but I have no clue why in the hell Jasmine's wearing a dress...w/e.


Guh. I went through all the trouble to try to ink them epically (Lana's pants looked SO. COOL.) only to go colour them and realize "Oh wait, they're BLACK, it'll cover up...hahahaaaaaa D:"
Didn't get crazy with the black - gave Kouichi black hair rather than trying to give him that cool, dark-blue-ish-black hair that he has...=/ though I really could have.


And then Lilith in a completely different colouring style! There's nothing else much I can say about this besides in total, this drawing probably took me an hour and a half to do, everything from drawing to inking to planning out my colours/highlights, to colouring itself. And it only takes up a corner of an 81/2''x11'' page.

So. Sorry if my colouring skills aren't epic - I just colour in...odd and different ways and I'm always experimenting with new styles on everything, so some of my work will look way different than others. Sometimes I half-colour my stuff and leave it because it looks cool to me, other times I colour the same way I did with Lana and Kouichi, not adding too much in shades/highlights because I'd have used my inking pen to do the shades for me. And then sometimes, in the example of Lilith, I plan out all my shades and use only colour to do them.

I like the red coloring for Trucido. What type of markers did you use anyway?

lol Prismacolor markers. SUPER-EFFING-EXPENSIVE. The set I have is a 24-colour set that my parents bought me for Christmas a couple of years ago and it cost somewhere around $50-$60.

The 12-colour costs almost $40, and the 48 costs nearly $150.

....and I've never seen the price on it, but I'm afraid to see how much money the 156-colour set is.


Regardless. I'd say if you want, put it on your Christmas list (the 24-set as it gives a nice variety of the BASICS you need and you can just spend the $3-$7 for each individual marker that you need afterward for specific drawings) because these markers cost a ton but my god they are SO good! And anyone can use 'em! ^__^

The colors look really good, I also really want to get the manga markers which also have a nice color.

Manga markers, eh? Is there a specific brand or is it like, just generic "manga" markers? o.O I may or may have not seen some at a con once.

I bought Copic multiliner pens at a con once ^^;; Cost me like $34-$36 for seven pens with various tip sizes (0.03, 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.8, 1.0mm) - bought the same set a few years later in a clearance bin at my local art store for $19!!

But sometimes, you have to overlook the price for the quality. Other times, you can use whatever and it'll be just fine. I don't have to have Copic pens, they are just really nice to have because their tip sizes go so small for super-fine detailed drawings where most packages I pick up of the Pilot pens seem to only provide me sizes 0.3, 0.5, 0.8, and 1.0. Most times, those are the only pens I need so it's no problem.

Sometimes, it'd be nice to have that 0.05 >>; You wouldn't think it'd make a huge difference, but sometimes it does...oh, it does...

That's them, it's the pack my brother has ((the first set)) although his black seems to be running out. I'd take any of the three but they're pretty expensive here in the United States so I'm waiting for Christmas.

Oooooh....yeah, those are pretty expensive. But as said, you pay for quality, right? Sometimes. I think the markers are a good investment. Hope you get them! I want to see more of your drawings D:

Oh yeah, when I saw your colors I thought it was manga markers at first. I keep wanting to draw CR pictures but I can't actually finish any. Oh well, getting those markers would be great.

Honestly? I like colored pencils. They don't look so... neon... and it's easier to do shades, since you can do about ten different shades witht he same pencil depending on pressure.

Mark - I do that all the time =/ a lot of the time, I'll start drawing something and then somehow never go back to it...XD;; It's frustrating! But hopefully you get something finished up, soon!

Kouichi - lol I love my pencil crayons as well, but the markers give me such a solid look right away that the pencil crayons do not D: Or, rather, the pencil crayons give a solid look if you work them in right, but that requires layers upon layers at times depending on what you're doing.
...Maybe I should do some stuff in pencil crayon as well ^^ Yaaay~
