Description: Vaan is a tall young man with sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. Usually, he wears leather pants and a leather vest. He's often smiling.

Race: Vampire (Dhampir)
Personality: Vaan is a cheerful individual, but his happy-go-lucky exterior hides a serious mind underneath. He follows his queen with the loyalty typical of Nerezzan servants and perhaps a bit more. He serves as a messenger because she trusts him as much as she trusts Lana and Ludro. He has a hard time talking to pretty girls.
Place of Origin/Home: Nerezza, though he will readily say he loves everywhere he's traveled
Alignment: Wherever Elexa is at the moment
Occupation: Queen's Messenger
Equipment: His leather clothes, a boot knife just in case, and a locket.
-Travel: One of a dozen Nerezzan (black) striders he cares for
Weapons: The only weapon he carries with him everywhere is a boot knife.
Combat: Vaan doesn't fight much, but he's skilled with a dagger and learning to use longer blades. He's a sneaky fighter though, with no real drive to fight fair. Never attack him when his striders are around.
Magic: Nothing except the usual vampire tricks... well, nobody can tell if his ability to make you think he's actually communicating with the striders he works with is magic or just an innate talent with the large birds.
Flaws: While Vaan's discretion is legendary and his manner serious and professional on the job, he does have a slight tendency to accidentally let seemingly unimportant bits of information slip when he loses his temper... information like the existence of vampires in Nerezza, which isn't very well known outside of that mysterious land. Also, he's not a very good fighter, other than his natural strength and dirty tricks, as he rarely sees battle. He is head-over-heels for the Hero Faeylinn and will do anything to protect her; this fact is not exactly kept a secret, although few outside of Nerezza would know.
History: Vaan is a natural-born vampire like many Nerezzans, but a bit of a disappointment to his mother. He inherited more of his father's looks and abilities than hers, and he never took to the subtler arts passed down through most vampiric families. He did, however, show an uncanny knack with striders... and this eventually landed him a job in the royal stables. It was his sharp mind and keen situational awareness, however, that eventually granted him the position of Queen's Messenger. Vaan's locket holds a small stone and a flower petal, the meaning of which only he knows.
During the Sumata War, he fell in love with a girl named Faeylinn, who had to return to Earth, leaving him rather depressed. Elexa has had him on light duties, although he has still been required to negotiate with the surviving rulers of the world, and the successors of those not so lucky. He has been recieving support from his striders and a friend, Lamuria.
