Name: The Gravelord Requiem
Description: Looming at an staggering 7' tall, Requiem's new form consists of an amalgamation of skeletal bodies mounded together, hanging limply, as if all tethered to a single skull that seems to serve as his discernible head. Jutting from the mass of bones are 2 long, slender skeletal arms, as everything but the visible structure of skeletal figures that make up his torso are covered in a ever wafting mass of some indiscernible black thread, forming what appears to be something akin to a cloak.
Age: Undead (ageless)
Personality: A sociopath by nature. Has no remorse for his actions and tends to view people as objects that serve as a means to an end. Adding to his already deplorable nature is the fact that he's horrifically egocentric and has a unique sense of dramatic flare that only serves to make him appear more pleasant to the unsuspecting person. His movements reflect his rhythmic nature, as his body seems to flow with each movement, even better shown by his sweeping, exaggerated motions. Though appearing calm and stoic at times, when "performing" he becomes a sadistic and maniacal menace; his aim to simply kill or maim whatever gets in his way and eventually add it to his collection.
Alignment: Evil
Equipment: A large conducting wand that serves as a medium for channeling his magic, and as a rapier-like weapon; it's build allowing for it to parry weapons and makes piercing thrusts. Also on his person, a crushed pocket watch that he keeps on his person at all times. Serves as a reminder of his once pitiful fear of demise.
Weapons: Conducting Wand *read Equipment*
Combat: Using his Conducting Wand or hands, Requiem controls the flow of necrotic energy by conducting it, like he would a symphony. Using this unique form of casting, he has the ability to direct the energies with unparalleled haste, or ready of wealth of spells that he can unleash in succession. Not usually resorting to physical combat, Requiem usually calls forth several undead servants to busy the person as he debilitates them with plagues, affliction, or other disabling diseases. Though a masterful long-range fighter, he is still a proficient close range fighter; though his strategy does change somewhat in these instances. With the mass of skeletons that now make up his body, each dangling arm serves as limb that Taggert controls, making his conducting ability just that much faster or stronger.
Magic: Necromancy. Having studies the dark art for some time, he has become well attuned in its teachings, providing him with a veritable cornucopia of curses, afflictions, blights and other spells designed to slowly eat away at his foe, rather than kill them outright. Alongside his affinity for afflictions, he also posses a steadily growing army of undead that he summons sparingly to aid him in his battles. Aside from that, he posses many spells that seem reminiscent to arcane magic, but, in his undead state, he has taken a shine to ice magic as his staple form of direct offensive magic. Being a construct of many bodies rather then one, each skeleton that make up Requiem's form serves as a means of sight, giving him strong perceptive abilities from all angles, and his increased number of limbs grant him quicker channeling of his necrotic energy, meaning either more potent barrages of smaller spells, or stronger single spells.
Flaws: Having obtained a new undead vessel, Requiem has not only reaped the benefits of his new husk, but also the weaknesses of the living deceased. His resistance to holy and fire spells is almost non-existance, causing him greater damage then other sources of magic. Also, Requiem is hampered upon entering any holy land or areas that have been sanctified, causing his undead form to be less powerful in all respects when within the confines of such consecrated areas. On top of this, Requiem's personality is, in itself, one giant flaw, as he is basically a ego-centriacally driven sociopath with illusions of grandeur.
History: Growing up in Santo-Luce, the formerly named Taggert was raised to be a masterful musician, a feat made possible by his innate affinity for the art. Though content with his father parading him about in an effort to amass fame and wealth for himself, he started to grow bored with the constant concerts and shows and began to take an interest in magic on the side of his performances. As he grew older, his interest in magic grew; Taggert spending each moment away from the concert hall to better attune himself to the art and its teachings.
At the age of 20, Taggert was a master of the symphony, his compositions already making their way across Crepusculum, and his company already being requested by nobility across the land. Times were good, and the young man had become accustomed to his fame and fortune, and the manner of living that it brought. But as the years went on, his brilliant compositions and masterful performances were not longer requested, and all he had to fall back on was his study of magic.
Reaching his 60's, Taggert began to feel the cold grip of his mortality clasping at his shoulder and sought for a way to extend his life in hopes of repeating his former glory days. Searching diligently though tome after tome of magic, he found nothing until tales of a darker art caught his ear and tempted him with it's forbidden secrets. Obtaining several tomes on Necromancy via the Black Market, his studies consumed each waking moment; each page revealing unto him a whole other way of viewing the world around him.
Eventually, he stumbled upon rituals for rejuvenation by the means of converting souls into lifeforce. It was around this time that young people began to suspiciously disappear in Santo-Luce; their bodies never being found. After some time, Taggert was found to be the man behind the disappearances, the bodies having served as a means of conducting his experiments. Having corrupted himself with his dark new perspective on life, he became separated from his humanity and felt no remorse for his actions; his former life goals no longer important to him, all of them having been brushed aside by his lust for power.
Escaping from his county of birth, he has traveled for many years, subsidizing his own life with that of others and collecting their husks to add to his steadily growing forces of the undead; his trail wrought with tales of horror and death, as he ventures from place to place seeking to expand his unholy powers.
Sumata Arc History: Upon joining Trucido and the Sumata, Taggert took the security and sanctity eventually obtained in Trucido's Manson to better expand his own powers for his personal gain. Taking the time provided by the conflict with the Heroes and Sumata, Taggert managed to create a undead vessel and a Phylactery; a unique Necromancer artifact that allows for the keeping of one's soul should the person meet with an unexpected demise.
But Taggert had all but counted on his demise in this instance, as knowing about how a necromancers power decreases with the revival via a Phylactery, Taggert sought to wait till he was imbued with the powers granted by the Relics Trucido had obtained before meeting with his demise, allowing him to partially maintain the boost in power upon his revival in his new vessel.
Upon his death at the hands of Kevin, Taggert quickly found his soul trapped within the limbo of his Phylactery, waiting patiently till his body was finished so that he might revive and reign terror upon Allorum once more.
