Player Name: JESS
Name: Nia Preppiz
Description: Curly shoulder-length purple hair, blue eyes, wearing a white dressy shirt with a red overcoat.
**updating a new outfit for her**
Birthplace: Roccia
Occupation: Fire mage with a minor in medicine (healing--natural/scientific. She classifies as a doctor)
Family: Gareth Preppiz (father), Melia Preppiz (mother)
Age: 24
Personality: Nia is an overly sweet young woman whose loyalty is almost a fatal flaw. Her independence doesn't have much to show yet as she's more than comfortable to just follow a leader that'll keep her protected and happy, in return, she'll keep them healthy and well-fed!
Her physical tics have gotten better, though she has the tendency to stutter, twitch (eye blinking and sometimes a jerk of the head), and even repeat phrases or parts of sentences that someone has just said. Her condition is better, though in times of high stress, anxiety, or just exciting her however will spur on a tic-frenzy.
Despite how dependent and quiet she is, Nia is highly educated and a fairly intelligent woman who strives for knowledge. She's curious and possesses the desire and competitiveness to do better, try harder, and do more with her life. She just has to do it.
Alignment: Good
Equipment: A bag containing a few potions, a couple of books, and herbs and extracts for natural healing uses.
Weapons: None
Magic: Nia's highly talented in fire magic. Commonly the movements of her body will dictate how heavy and forceful of a fire attack she'll produce.
One thing she has learned to do is to 'feel the energies' around her and seize control of them while summoning fire attacks. It may take more time, but with strong focus Nia can feel and partially envision (probably through meditation) particles that attach and move with her body and will, and rub or collide in the right speed to cause the area she's focused on to spontaneously combust and burst into flames.
Combat: Not heavy on getting close to her opponents. She typically sticks with bursts or raining fire attacks to force her enemies at a distance. If she can separate herself from her opponent long enough she'll attempt something heavier.
Intelligence: D
Strength: E
Speed: D
Stamina: D
Magic: D
Fighting Technique: D
Flaws: Highly dependent. When she finds someone to be loyal to, she's almost doomed to follow until death strikes her down. Easily destroyed when she's proven her ways are wrong and has issues getting over it in critical times (she just gets upset).
History:
Growing up in Roccia with her family, Nia was always considered "special" to them, being the family's only child. At the age of five, her parents began to notice odd things about their daughter, like her habit of repeating chunks of their sentences aloud to herself, or the need for her to repeat or suddenly jolt certain actions involuntarily. It never changed her, though it did give everyone the impression she was weird...or possessed by a demon.
Sensitive and picked on a lot by other children, Nia's protective parents thought it best she be homeschooled and kept her in the house most of her days. She rarely went outside, so her 'best friend' was bookshelves upon bookshelves of books to read. She was happy this way, her parents bringing her new information to absorb and she lived happily cooking and cleaning with her mother and being generally looked after. In her time spent away from the outside world she learned she had a unique talent with fire magic, being able to light the tea kettle with no tools or boil a soup for her family. Considering the negative attention she already received from her twitching and outbursts, she felt it best to keep her fire magic a secret.
When she was older, around sixteen, she started taking schooling in medicine. Because of her 'odd' condition she requested she spend more time with her books at home and show up for hands-on training with patients only when required. Arguing with her parents over it, her instructors finally agreed when she sat through a class and kept shouting, "MANDIBLE!" and "TARSALS!" every few minutes for two hours straight.
Six years later, Nia succeeded at becoming a graduated doctor. Her plans then were to further her studies but instead she joined the Saints, hoping to use her new knowledge and sporadic fire magic to help them stop thisdouchebag horrible man named Duo.
It resulted in them losing, though together as a "family", they were sealed away for a thousand years only to be woken up to a different Allorum. And because Kain said so, their new objective was to get revenge on the world for abandoning them in their time of need.
Sumata/Saints arcs:
Appearing in the Saints arc, Nia followed close to the group that Kain lead. She was happy to be with all of her friends, the people she'd known to call "family" and was only glad to be accepted by them. To her, as long as they loved each other and looked out for one another she needed no one else.
When it came time for Kain's master plan to take affect however, she found herself unable to follow through as Ayalan Invargas talked her down from taking part in the destruction of the world. She found herself unable to attack who was previously thought to be the enemy and pleaded with Kain to stop. A battle broke out and in this very battle she'd managed to somehow win the hearts of both Grey Highlander and Ayalan. A little creeped out but still flattered, she let herself go with instinct and followed Aya, having too much of a soft heart to attack the "enemy" but still unable to make herself attack her "family" either.
She bailed, taking a neutral side. After that, she'd moved with Aya and Malice (?I can't remember hahah) to a cute lil' house in the deep forests of Alberisato.
CURRENT:
Having fell in love with Ayalan and living with him in a happy relationship for less than a year, Nia found herself to be bothered. Not by Aya, not by what good things she had given to her.
Her life bothered her. The ability to use fire without a reason, the reason for having it and never knowing how to use it sensibly. Usually whenever her tics started acting up she'd use it as a tool to calm her, usually lighting random small objects on fire just to watch it burn.
Nia went missing on Aya one night. In truth, she'd reluctantly run away to seek answers about herself. Gone for almost a year, she's finally emerged from the mountains in Ignis after some training.
