Me.
I draw all sorts of random crap. I paint, too. I like watercolours, though I've gotten much better with acrylics. I don't have anything at this very moment to show (I could show my DeviantART, but some of that stuff is sadly outdated and I should really show something recent).
I draw still lifes as well, and portraits. I am majoring in Visual Arts in my third year of university, and at the moment I'm in the Faculty of Fine Arts but I am trying to re-register again in the Faculty of Education as an Arts Education student (Major - Visual Art, Minor - Dance).
In my Art 230 class right now, we are drawing human bones. We just finished with skulls and torso, and now we are working on hands/feet.

Oh, niiiice. An Art major, very creative! I love doing stuff like that, but... most people dislike and belittle my style, so my stubbornness has kept me out of formal art classes as much as possible. *sigh*

To take art classes in a university setting, you really need to have nerves of steel and have complete confidence in your work at all times. At the same time, you need to be open-minded to changes that could better your work, but it is all in your eyes and you must make the decisions.
The reason for this is because people will always belittle your work. You are not taking classes, you are in a competition--against your 'classmates' and your 'professor'. They are all artists too, and they all have different ideas of what's right and what's wrong.
You need to be open minded when dealing with the professors because they control your grades and if they like Cubism but you like Modernism...you'll have to bend to their ways if you want to succeed. Sometimes, though, it's a good thing to do it that way because you explore different areas, expand your knowledge and broaden your horizons, and you may find that your skill improves a good deal just from trying it out--even if you hate it still in the end XD
I like drawing cartoons and comics as well, but they have no place in Fine Arts. It's because they aren't considered a "fine art", they are considered "amateur art".
In a highschool setting, it is beneficial to take art classes regardless of what people say. I do an enormous variety of art-stuff (besides the 2D, I've done clay and have made pieces out of wood, as well), so it's easy for me to just jump in a class and work.
^^; We did still life in my highschool art classes, and people hated my work because apparently I was better than them. I never find anyone's work "better" than someone elses', though. We just do what we do the best we can. Kids in highschool have no respect for each other, though.

Eh, true.
I just am tired of my teachers telling me that anime is not a 'real' style. IT IS A FREAKIN' REAL STYLE. ITS USED BY AN ENTIRE FREAKIN' COUNTRY.
Sorry. Rant over. XD
Yeah... I'm just kinda tired of it, is all. and I don't want o do it as a rpofession, so it doesn't reall matter anyway.

It's alright, you rant all you want about it.
But even if it's not going to be a profession of yours, it's something that is you, isn't it? That's what makes it important and you should have the right to draw it.
I sadly can't do very much about that, but that's why I'd rather be a teacher and keep in mind things like that--I can change the way my classroom is run, right? I think we need more open-minded people in the schools, really.

I used to have decent art skills, but they've gone downhill. I still do a pretty mean job photoediting in Paint, though.
