Kings Quest Fans?

Are any of you familiar with the kings Quest Series?

It was this totally awesome puzzle/rp kind of game that was made by sierra. Very oldskool but very fun

Well after almost a decade of the series coming to a poorly done conclusion, This one company decided to make a game with the original Kings Quest characters BY the fans FOR the fans.

Well after 8 years of hard work, They were about to release this awesome fan made Game called "The Silver Lining" It was to be a DECENT closing to the series due to the fact Number 8 well...sucked. XD

But the basic Gyst of it is: This was a FAN MADE game. they were not receiving any kind of money for it O__O

And they WERE granted a non-commercial license by the Company that owned Sierra. This company was bought by another company though and this license was revoked ONE MONTH before the game was to be released to the public. This is ridiculous, and I know I was personally VERY dissapointed when I found out.

They HAD the legal issues dealt with, and they had spent 8 YEARS on it. For something like that to be thrown away is ridiculous!

I'll sign it. But only because I remember two games that I loved as a kid: King's quest(Being a thief was amazing. And being a Paladin was hard work. D: )..and damn Antwerps that bounce everywhere.

Oh man, I loved Kings Quest when i was younger. It was like the original computer puzzle/adventure game that I played and it was just awesome! I never really got any further then Kings Quest 6 and I never really even managed to beat that one.

All this mention of Kings Quest 8 having a bad ending and this Pheonix Online Studious making a continuation of if is new to me, but I'll gladly sigh the petition, only because I know it sucks when things tank like that.

Here hoping that all the hard core Kings Quest fans can get the good ending that they're hoping for.

Actually, now I get confused between King's Quest and Quest for Glory. I know they're different at some points but they're both so great. I wonder when Sierra died as a company. Even today, I play those games, loving them to death. Like, Space Quest was awesome hilarity wise. King's Quest..I remember a lot of tedious moments. There was the mini quests in the fifth one I think with getting a cape and all that to go through the mountains but you needed a hay from a needle stack and...*Dies*. And then in Quest for Glory, you could get high on mushrooms..and in King's Quest III or IV with Alexander with the Cliff Scene, of just tediously climbing it one by one step for four screens. And the Minotaur's maze after that!

Agreed, I loved the games as a kid, and I sure as heck wouldn't mind another old school throw-back to bring me down memory lane. If a petition would help bring something like that out, i'd be happy to sign it.

I'm not the only Kings Quest Fan!!! I own Numbers 6, 7 and 8....
And I've played all, except for one, three and four.

You have NO IDEA how excited I was when I heard they were making number 9!!!!

And now its just...being shut down. Srsly wtf.
