.__. Man, I'm NEVER going to the US unless I'm tagging along with someone who a.) lives there, or b.) knows their way well enough around it (and the country's customs) You guys are allowed to have guns and that GREATLY worries me D: I mean, anyone could have a gun here (every gun is illegal unless registered, however) but I keep having these paranoid nightmares of visiting out in the US and getting SHOT because " The Canadian girl waved her hand at me and I felt threatened because I thought she was going to hit me, so I HAD to shoot her dead!" I'm not saying Americans do that (and I'm most definitely not saying that it's legal, either), I'm just saying it's a PARANOID DREAM OF MINE x__X that and anyone who meets me seems to just know I'm Canadian before I even tell 'em, which makes me go, "ahhhh, I wanna fit in I don't want people to know I'm different!!!!" As for Canada and the "what you can do here that you can't do in other countries" thing, I've got a couple of things: 1.) LEGAL gay marriage! (...in Ontario at least, the last I heard anyway) 2.) Wear a scarf any time of the year and NOT get laughed at 3.) Legally drink at the age of 18 in Alberta (and Ontario?), and 19 every other province in Canada Though in Greece, children can legally drink at 14, and buy their own alcohol at the age of 18, I think. It's been a few years since I was in Greece, though ^^;

Wow did this thread get off topic fast. To throw my two cents into the ring, in the end we must all realize that every nation is made up of people and invisible lines. The only thing that makes a nation "better" than another is its economy, its laws and its government. I think we can all agree that Canadian or American our government seems good at screwing up crap.
But to the topic of movies, I Love You Man is a good watch. Really funny actually. Other than that I haven't seen too many of the newer ones. Adventureland was kinda funny in an honest and ordinary way. If you've seen Juno you know what I mean. The only thing that bugs me is the growing trend of having shy goofy looking losers get the attention and adoration of the hottest girls in the whole movie. Superbad, that Infinite Playlist movie, and Adventureland have this trend and it seems far fetched. It also shows that to make friends all you really need is pot. I'm serious, every new friendship the protagonist makes in Adventureland starts with him sharing a joint with these people.

Ugh, reind me never to watch that movie.
As a reply to Jess... I think that you should come out here to CT sometime. It's really pretty and has a lot of great people ready to change your opinions 'bout us Americans.
Except my grandpa. But I'd never take any of my friends to meet him XD

I need a good movie that came out recently to watch. Anyone have any suggestions? P.S. I don't like action movies that much unless they have either romance or comedy in them, or are horror movies.

I have heard good things about "The Rite". I personally love Anthony Hopkins though, so the movie looks fantastic to me. my friend said it rivaled his performance as Hannibal in "Silence of the Lambs" which is a huge compliment to me.
I have not seen any of the movies currently out though, so this is not from experience.

So I saw Sanctum today. its the first movie I watched in theaters in quite some time. I can't remember really what the last one before this was. its all blurred together now. It was either Avatar, Wolfman, or Hangover though. They are all the same time period for me. too long ago.
Anyways, the movie was pretty good. I won't go too far in depth in it, but I will say it was pretty much exactly what I expected it to be. I was not really a fan of the Son's actor, but he had his good scenes and his bad (more bad IMO) but his dad was fantastic. If any of you are Jurassic Park fans (I love dinosaurs) you might remember him from the first movie. I don't remember his character's name, but he was the Australian keeper who obsessed about how smart the raptors are.
All in all the movie was okay, but a good experience. I would recommend this movie to any of you looking for a well filmed movie with a good balance of drama, character development, and (would you call caving action?).
that's all I have for now.
