A black-haired girl walked through Orlando, Florida, looking at all the attractions, overpriced shops, and fancy buildings and hotels. A small smile appeared as she looked over all of it, the beauty of rich living.
She'd felt the disturbances that went with unknown, unusual energies entering the world. She'd traced them here - to Disney World, no less. Still, they'd left the park already, the power they held creating a trail that was as plain to her as a stain on the fabric of this magic-barren world. She followed it with half a thought, still sightseeing like the tourist she was. Finally, it led to an overpriced hotel - one of the kind that fed off of tourists like vultures fed off of roadkill.
She smirked. Whoever it was, they had both a, class, and b, no knowledge of this world. She walked down the street happily, humming a little song as she looked for a place to sit and think for a while.
After all, it was Orlando. Not even the prospect of potentially dangerous invaders could dim her mood.

((OMG honey, I see "Sumata" and instantly jump in - can I do that? If there's a problem, get Kouji to delete me post XD;;; I'm out for most of the day job-hunting! *pumps gun* ))
The doors to the hotel burst open and out came a young, blond-haired man with bright blue eyes. He had a rather large and amused grin on his face as he barrelled out into the streets, stumbling ever-so-slightly, and inevitably charged right into the black-haired girl that was just passing by.
Upon crashing into her, he instantly started spewing out a jumbled mess of "I'msorryI'msorryI'msorry!" when he stopped, stared, his hands resting gently on her shoulders...
And immediately from there grabbed her hand with his stupid grin plastered on his face as he confidently burst out, "Lovely! Hello, my lovely lady, how are you on this fine day?! I'm very sorry for my terrible balancing act there - I can't help it, you know, I fall easily for beauty as stunning as yours. You are in the presence of the great Alexander Frexton, milady, care we go for a little day out and put this incident behind us?"
And almost like magic (you could say he cheated and actually used some of the little magic he had left on Earth), he whipped out a red rose from behind his back and handed it to her.

((*pokes forum post* Hey there, Jess-nee-chan! No problem at all, as I mentioned in the post anyone can jump in, but since it's only the sumata who are in Florida right now...))
She blinked.
"Um... thank you?" she replied, still a little stunned.
Did he just seriously turn a clumsy, accidental mistake and turn it into a pickup? she thought to herself, taking the rose absentmindedly. As she took it, her hand brushed his for a moment, and she felt something... off. She blinked again.
This guy is one of the... 'invaders'? she thought skeptically. Well, explains the personality quirks...
She looked him up and down. He was charming, and most girls her age would probalby swoon at the mere sight of him. In fact, she noticed there were, already, a few watchers whispring about this little scene, several along the lines of "he's gorgeous" and "lucky bitch."
Still, once she'd gotten her bearings from the out-of-the-blue invite, she just grinned.
"I'm sorry," she said, "but I can't accept your invitation... Maybe some other time? I'm pretty busy today."
She gave him a charmingly cute grin, bowed quickly, then turned and ran away, giving him a wave and a shout of, "Thanks for the flower, though, Alex!"
She quickly disappeared around several corners, and a few minutes later a dark shape was seen in the air.
((Oh, don't worry, I'm not ending it here... she'll reappear somewhere else a few minutes later if a reply is posted.))

Alexander blinked and watched as the lady disappeared quickly. He hadn't even become aware that more ladies around him were suddenly watching him, he had given Miri his undivided attention.
"But...I....but I didn't get your name!!" and he suddenly groaned loudly as he turned to the wall and hit it with the palm of his hand, "arrghh! And I thought I almost had her, too! Why are the love gods of Earth so cruel!? Why, I ask you?!"
Okay, now he was aware that women were watching him. So he put on his "I'm so heart-broken and will never love again" scene where he cursed the clear blue sky because it was raining on his heart and yadda-yadda-yadda.
And as an appropriate ending, he slumped against the wall and slid like a bum to the ground where he sat pouting. Oh, how he loved attention sometimes.
...yeah, that's right. Sometimes.

A dark shape watched from the roof of the hotel as Alex cursed the sky, the rain, the sun, and the moon for stealing the love of his life. She rolled her eyes.
"Drama king," she mumbled to herself as he slumped to the ground and a brave and intrepid lady walked up to give him her phone number.
Still, he wasn't from around here, and so a small trickle of power snaked out to touch his, reading his energy like he would read his love fortune in the sunday paper.
He was a light mage, she saw, with a strong connection to the divine spirits of his world. That was about all she could get, and she cursed the fact that the way Earth was cramped her natural abilities so far.
She smiled a litle, though, and a black feather came casading down to right near where Alex was sitting.

Alexander blinked at the woman who showed up and gave him a piece of paper with a name, and a bunch of numbers on it. Of course, he didn't quite understand what exactly it was but it was still contact with a beautiful lady anyway.
As she walked away, he continued staring down into the paper with a smile on his face - haha, the old drama trick was always sure to get someone's attention. Speaking of attention-grabbing, he had just noticed too that a black feather slowly made its way to the concrete ground which he sat on.
He stared at it, then looked up. He hadn't seen anything, so looked back at the feather, raising an eyebrow at it as he got back to his feet then. Grinning back down at the paper, he folded it up and stuck it in one of his pockets and immediately set to get on his way...when he noticed something shiny down a long and dark, narrow passage between the hotel and another building.
The young king was never a smart one, for sure, and so rather curious he strolled rather leisurely into the alleyway, making his way toward the small, shining object. Which...turned out to be a tiny, copper coin. How lame.

"They say it'll give you good luck if you pick one up."
A few feathers came raining down on Alex from the air, accompanied by the sound of flapping wings. If the king looked up, he would see the black-haired girl from earlier hovering in the air above him, suspended on black, feathered wings. She touched ground in front of him gracefully, wings spreading behind her.
"It's common knowledge, really... but then, you wouldn't know that."
She smiled at him. "You really oughtta know, it's not safe to wander down dark alleys by yourself in this place."
She held the rose he'd given her to her lips, smiling.

Alexander grinned when he heard the voice - she'd returned! His beloved returned!
Of course then he saw her swoop down in front of him, black wings out...kind of blocking his way back out, speaking now about wandering around in dark places alone...heh, kind of creepy.
"I...huh," he'd lost his over-the-top charm as he looked down at the penny in his hand and then looked back at her, "copper isn't really valuable where I come from, really. I guess I know better now, knowing it's lucky to have it here. I suppose if it's lucky, I don't need to worry about coming down here by myself, right? My best friend looks out for me, so maybe this will help him by looking out for me at the moment so he doesn't need to worry."
It was an odd thing for a royal to refer to their captain(s) as their best friend, but Alexander rathered that he'd be friends with Alex. Made things more comfortable, and he hated formalities, really.

Seigmand had decided to slip out the hotel for a few moments to take in the sights and sounds of the city they'd stumbled into, and was glad for a chance to be away from the Trucido and the rest of the Sumata for a while. Yet fate wasn't so kind to give him that chance as he saw Alex make a spectacle of himself only a short distance away. Seigmand could only make out some random whining about love and his heart, leaving him to put the rest together quite easily.
Whether he was merely too deep in self pity or just because it was Alex, he seemed completely oblivious to Seigmand's presence as the light king rounded the hotel into an alleyway.
Hmmm, I suppose I could use this time to try and strengthen my bond with the boy some. After all, he's still malleable, hasn't had Trucido dig his claws too deep into him yet. Seigmand merely shrugged and was ready to follow after Alex but stopped dead in his tracks as a quick peek around the corner showed a winged woman descend in front of Alex and begin to speak to him. He quickly ducked back, leaving only an eye exposed as he watched from a distance with interest.
Who is this? I didn't think the Earth people had wings. Better just keep a eye out in case she turns out to be trouble.

She smiled.
"Friend, huh?"
She folded her wings, and dropped her hand so that the rose no longer coverd her face. Her mysterious air decreased, but didn't fade completely. She smiled.
"Friends are important... and you haven't come alone." She nodded. "It's hard to be lost in this place alone... but that aside, just exactly where are you from?"
Suddenly, she noticed something else - the presence of another being from somewhere... else.
Another one? she thought, then sighed. Better deal with them in case they decide to show themselves.
"Oh, and... you might want to tell your 'friend' hanging around back there to come out, too," she said, loud enough that the energy skulking around would be able to hear her.

Seigmand stepped out slowly, aware that for whatever reason she had noticed him it would not be remedied by trying to stay hidden. Still he kept himself cool and calm on the inside, hoping at best to keep the mysterious woman at bay and at worst to pacify her should she turn out to be an enemy.
"You're right, friends are important young lady. They can be there to look out for each other, to protect and defend each other. So might I ask, do you have any nearby? I'm sad to say my powers of deduction are not as astute as yours." He grinned that cunning grin he always made when he tried to find what made someone tick.

Miri smirked.
"Ah, but see... when you hold all the cards, you don't need backup."
She knew how people like him worked. From the way he spoke, he was a strategist, and he was asking the right questions from the get-go. A little flattery, to make her ignore the true intent of his question - did she have back-up, waiting nearby?
"How about you, my friend? What's your name? Are you two all alone in this place? It must be tough, stuck in a strange city with only the two of you to help each other... but I'm sure that Alex here must feel safe, with such a strong bodyguard... or is it the other way around? Is he accompanying you?"
Two could play that game.

Alexander chuckled. He had frozen, slightly worried about revealing where he came from to the woman but it seemed that Seigmand had arrived in time to "save him" so it seemed.
"Oh, he's not the friend I was talking about - my bodyguard friend is uh...well, I don't really remember where I left him at the moment," his laughter revealed some nervousness behind it now, "but this guy's a friend of mine, too. A good friend, he comes to all the parties. What's your name, maybe I'll invite you along to one sometime, too."

She giggled a little.
"Parties, huh?" she asked, smiling. "Maybe, if you have a date..."

Annnnnnd the charm was back.
"Well," Alexander grinned as he leaned a little closer to the woman, "I definitely have a date if you're willing to be it, Miss..."
