Seigmand's eyebrow twinged at the raven-haired woman's remark, a brief sign of his irritation in the possibility he might not be as prepared as he thought. His research and exploration, short as it had been had lead him to the conclusion that humans were quite inadequate without these machines and guns that he'd seen in a combat situation. Part of him said that she then had to be a fighter sent by Yeligar, but something wasn't quite right...
"I believe no matter where you're from young lady that it's quite rude to ask another's name until you've given them yours. Surely if you do indeed hold all the cards then common courtesy is not beyond you. And you need not ask where we are from; merely that we are visitors brought here by a rare happenstance. Is that enough for you?"
He then shot Alex an icy glare. "And Alex! Priorites please boy. I would hope you would see this moment as one to think with your head and not your pants." His voice was gruff with annoyance at Alex's facetious ways.

Alexander blinked at Seigmand, quite startled at his scolding. Man, it wasn't like Alexander didn't know that they had an important mission to do, and it wasn't like he didn't know that they should be a little wary around the pretty girl.
Whatever, though. At the moment, Alexander was also a little annoyed with Seigmand - how degrading of a remark that was, 'thinking with his pants'.
"Seigmand, buddy, I thought you were on my side!" Alexander raised an eyebrow at him, "and you give me no credit - there's a proper time to think with your head, and there's also a proper time to think as a charming gentleman on top of that - don't be a killjoy like my dad, man."

First things first.
"So... your name is Seigmand..." She shook her head. "Please excuse my lack of courtesy, both of you. I believe Alex was wishing to learn my name as well?" She smiled. "They call me Miri," she continued, looking at both of them, "and you're absolutely right - I should've introduced myself from the start. However, I... will have to disagree with you on a certain point."
She looked between them.
"I know that both of you are from somewhere other than here, and both of you know exactly what I mean by that, so I'm afraid it is my business to know where from. I don't want to have to get hostile, because both of you seem like very smart, good-natured gentlemen... so why don't you tell me what I want to know and I'll be on my way?"
Her smile was charming, but her eyes were serious as she looekd between the two men.

Seigmand refrained from saying anything more to Alex at the moment. He didn't need his concentration torn between bickering and the more serious issue at hand. The woman scarred Seigmand somewhat, and he was right to be. There were only two things that made him a vicious opponent; his powerful geomancy and his thorough preparedness before battling a foe. Placing himself on Earth had reduced both of these for Seigmand greatly. Knowing his disadvantage, he hoped that a bit more information would pacify her and send her away till he could better understand how weak his powers were here.
"Again I applaud your deductive skills Miri. You are right about our origin. We come from a distant world much unlike yours. Recent events have left us in a difficult position, as we are both kings from these lands. As such we have ventured to Earth in search of items that may aid us in restoring order to our world." Seigmand's form was perfect. He had practised the art of half truths for so many years that he knew he had no tells, save for what magic spells could discern. He only hoped whatever the woman was doing to know this much about him could not tell her otherwise.
"Is that enough for you m'lady? I assure you we mean no harm to your planet." With that he did a slight formal bow, save for his head which remained upright to keep his eyes on her reaction.

She looked at him interestedly, quizzically, trying to read him. He was a good ator - his face revealed nothing other than closed doors. Without any clues to go on, she was flying in the dark wth these two, so it was best to take anything this man said with a grain of salt. That being said, she didn't feel any particular need to fight them at this point in time, so she settled for trying to pry more info from them, possibly the younger, more talkative one.
"I see... which other world would you be from?" If their world were anything like most of them, that might just shock them into letting something vital slip. "As for being kings... you won't be getting much royal treament here on Earth, I warn you. This city is one of the exceptions - it lives off of the money people will pay to visit the theme park you landed in from anywhere in the world. Be careful of dark alleys, asanywhere there's wealth, there are scavengers to take it for themselves. Also... be careful not to stir up trouble. I understand you mean no harm, but I'll be keeping an eye on you to make sure. A lot of people have called me paranoid, but I believe that you never can be too careful."

"Miri..." Alexander played with the name silently on his tongue for a bit, thinking how lovely it was while Seigmand and her seemingly got into a...battle of wits?
Regardless, he boredly watched the both of them exchange information, and as little as either could get away with. He hated conversations like these, they were too serious and often lead to something bad happening.
"Might if I ask you a question, Miri dear?" Alexander finally stepped in, his grin still shining, "where are you from? You have wings, and most people I know of don't have wings at all. In fact, the people I know cannot fly in any way, shape or form..."

No wings.... that rules out a couple possibilities, but not nearly enough.
She shrugged. "I'm from Earth, of course... however, I'm quite unique. You're very right, Alex - most people on Earth have no wings. Magic itself is nearly dead, here, so only humanity and what is humanly possible exist. However, every good Guard needs to have something that those they guard don't... I am one of these Guards."

Alexander blinked. "A Guard? From Earth?"
He hadn't meant to, but he strayed away from Miri's original question "where are you from?" as he began to ask his own questions.
"So you have wings because no one else does? What do you Guard? What does the Guard do? Dude, what happens if you fail?!"

She smiled. "I guard Earth itself. I make sure that people from other place don't get through and cause trouble. As for what happens if I fail... well, depends on what you mean by failure, but worst case scenario, the world ends."
She smiled at him.
"So please... don't cause trouble. I'm hip-deep already."

Watching the girl, Seigmand was fairly certain she was being straightforward with them. It sounded like she wasn't connected to the Heroes in any way, yet should she align with them, it could prove troublesome to have someone skilled in fighting on Earth on their side. He smiled ever so slightly as a plan brewed in his mind.
"My dear lady, it would seem then that the tension of our meeting is only a misunderstanding. As you are being upfront with us, than it is only fair that we should be frank with you. There is another party who may have followed us here to Earth in search of the same items. You see, these treasures are capable of both great creation and great destruction. Should a man by the name of Yeligar cross your path, be wary of him and his allies. They seek to slay us royals and take the items for themselves." His voice oozed sincerity. False sincerity, but who would she be to know the difference?

She smiled. "I see. Unfortunately, you have traveled here in vain - these powerful items you seek are here on Earth, which means they are under my care. As such, I cannot let anyone take them off Earth, benevolent Royal or shady man. You should probably head back home."

Alexander frowned at Miri.
"But...but honey! We're not going to wreck them or anything, we just wanted to look at them!" he gave her a slight pleading smile before looking over at Seigmand, "....right? We were just here to see them? I don't see what Trucido would want with a bunch of old relics anyway, they'd make terrible home decorations."
He smiled back at Miri again though. "Please?"

"Wait... Trucido?"
Something about that name rang an unpleasant bell. It sounded familiar, like she'd heard it before, and she could tell from her suddenn suspicion that it hadn't been in good contexts. Still, she had to keep reasonable.
These people could be perfectly honest. I don't know that they're trying to make trouble.... Besides, at least the blond one obviously means no harm, although eh looks more like the spoiled prince son of a mob-boss who ran away from daddy than an extra-terrestrial king.

Seigmand saw her reaction and heard the uneasiness in her voice. Cursing his luck that this woman happened to know of Trucido, he decided to derail her train of thought.
"My apologies Miri, but we are out of time." He said, his voice remaining calm and polite. "Well we shall not keep you any longer. Me, Alex and my other companions need make haste on our journey. Know that you need not worry about our intentions or our methods. take care Miri, may our next meeting be less... tense than this has been. Come Alex." With that he turned around with a quick pivot of his foot and rounded the corner back to the hotel's entrance.

His sudden hurry clinched it for her that he was lying. An honest person would have reassured her that this 'Trucido' person was really a great guy and, like they said, they weren't going to do harm with the artifacts. This man had assumed the worst and decided to leave. It was like a cornered crook suddenly asking for his lawyer - they weren't telling the whole story, and didn't want to.
"I'm sorry you have to leave so soon, seeing as how we've had such a pleasant chat. Remember, keep your hands off the artifacts - they are under my protection."
