Seigmand stood amongst the fallen ruins of Donnertburg taking in the once beautiful architecture, now crumbled and consumed by vines and plant life. The pathway he had taken to the castle's entrance was now little more a few paving stones that laid scattered on a stark and barren strip of land. Though the land had begun to rejuvenate itself, a few scorch marks remained as proof that the great siege had indeed happened here many years ago.
"What do you think gentlemen? Not much to look at know is it?" Seigmand turned to his two companions. Alex, the young golden haired king looked on with curiosity at their surroundings while Xisa merely stared coldly forward, his expression hard to read as always.
Seigmand pulled out the castle's old blueprints and led the others to a pile of rubble. "This should be it." he said placing his hand on each stone as it obeyed his touch and dispersed away from the slowly decreasing pile. With the last stone removed they saw a small trap door. The door swung with a rusty creak and led them down a dark staircase with no end in sight. Seigmand pulled out a torch for each member, handing it to them. "Just in case." It was all he said before he lit his and descended into the catacombs.
They came out shortly into a cavernous area. The air was dank and stale with years of cycling through the same tunnels. Seigmand put his hand out to block the other two from proceeding any further. "Remember, much of the traps and creatures are still active in these caves. Be cautious." The faint sound of grunts echoing off the distant tunnels confirmed his words. Yet Seigmand traveled no more than two steps towards a tunnel when a disguised pressure plate depressed under his foot. A rumbling came from the ceiling as a slot opened from above, letting a shower of steel spikes rain down towards him.

(( Alex, the young golden haired king looked on with a mixed display of wonderment and dismay at their surroundings... Yes and no, really.)) Alexander followed along behind Seigmand and Xisa, carrying his staff by his side and giving the old castle a curious look. He shrugged as they stepped closer and simply said, "Meh, it could be worse." The young man was surprisingly quiet as they crept along, and for a brief moment he looked a little concerned about stepping in through the trap door on the floor. Taking a torch from Seigmand, he was quiet yet as they stepped down the dark staircase and into the caverns. Hearing the life inside of the dark and murky place did make him shiver a little, but he wasn't about to let the other two get the feeling that he was scared. Wasn't really "manly." Even more surprisingly yet was when Seigmand triggered the trap only a few feet away and the spikes fell towards him, they bounced off and away from as though he were covered with a veil of light - which he appeared to be; Alexander stood with a faint glow around him as the spell he casted died off and he raised his eyebrow at the ceiling. "Can't let one of my party guests die," he muttered, staring up at the ceiling yet, trying to make out where from above the spikes would have come from. He figured it would at least be useful to remember how odd the ceiling looked, and possibly get an idea of what some of the different switches would look like should he be fortunate to find one.

"Now, let's move on" Xïsa said as he walked forward always looking at the ground, noticing the odd looking stones. He then heard a beast growling near the party. He looked up and saw a white beast-like Lion with no eyes. "Oh, he should be fun." He said as he whipped out his sword and beheaded it.

Seigmand had readied his staff to try and parry the falling projectiles, but upon seeing the refracting light cover him he stood still as the spikes bounced effortlessly off him. Hmm, a barrier spell? It seems I chose right in bringing Alex with us. "Thank you friend." Was all he said to the up and coming king. The boy seemed determined to be his friend, and Seigmand could use an ally, especially if the boy's alignment was still undecided.
Passively watching Xisa cut down the creature with a single sweep he motioned them both in the direction that he had started towards in the first place. "Beware Xisa, it's the ones with eyes that are going to be trouble." Seigmand said, leaving the warning open ended.
Upon reaching the tunnel entrance Seigmand paused for a moment, bending down to touch the ground. Giving a heavy push towards it, the ground ripple softly, the earth settling down a couple inches lower than where it once had been. In the few feet ahead they could see thanks to the fiery light a few rectangular sections of the ground were left exposed. "More pressure plates. Don't step on them alright?" He tried his best to ensure he wouldn't need saving again. The last thing he needed was to owe any more favors.
The dank tunnels quickly transformed into supported passageways as they ventured deeper, the walls paved with molded stone. As the light bounced off a wall they saw the passage split into a fork, one going right and one going left. "Well gentlemen, I'm afraid that both will eventually lead to the archives, but I can't really say which one's safer. Any suggestions?"

Alexander smiled at Seigmand as they continued down the tunnel. He was light-footed enough to avoid stepping on any traps, but of course you had to be light on your feet if you wanted to impress the women. Or so he thought, anyway.
Upon coming up to the fork, Alexander tried to look a few ways down each tunnel. Decision-making was never his best area, though his father always told him it was because he never thought.
"Um...hey, I say right," he spoke, "because right is always right, you know."
It was a response like the one he just gave the other two men that made his father roll his eyes at him and tell him he was irresponsible and immature.

"...Fine" Xïsa said "I guess we will got right." He put his sword away and started to walk in that direction.

As the crew ventured into the right corridor it twisted and turned uneventfully for a few feet before coming into a wide and empty room. From the look of the barrels surrounding the walls it looked like a food storage. The smell in the air suggested much of it had gone bad ago. As the three of them went closer to the center a heavy crunch came from under Seigmand's foot. Looking down the dim light from their torch revealed human bones that littered the floor. The sound must have awoken what resided in the room, as the sound of claws scratching against the stone floor seemed to come from all around.
Seigmand turned his torch towards one corner only to catch the slightest glimpse of the creatures. The creatures dashed away, screeching as the light was focused towards them. They were incredibly fast, their forms sleek and appearing to be armoured with heavy shells on their back.
"There's a lot here." Seigmand said, retreiving his staff from his back. "at least 5, maybe 6 of them. Hard to say. Be on your guard." No sooner did he say it then the scuttling sounds quieted for only a moment before 3 leapt forward, lunging towards each of the Sumata with long claws and dripping jagged teeth.

Xïsa looking at one on the beast, he stuck out his hand and then a dark purple sphere formed and he fired it at the beast, hitting the on coming at him.

Alexander frowned.
"Um...so, I don't really think I like the idea of--"
It was then that the beasts sprang out at them. Despite the fact that Alexander had a handy sword by his side, he instinctively twirled the staff he carried with him and it flashed with a bright light. A high-pitched 'cooing' sound came from it as a majestic fox-like creature appeared before him.
"Foxy!" he cried, "tear that thing apart before it tears into me!"
The fox's tail flicked in response and half a second later while the clawed beast leaped at Alexander, she was already turned and roughly bit the creature's arm, throwing it away from her master. For an elegant-looking animal, she was vicious and she furiously ripped the other animal apart, smelling, feeling, and seeing that her enemy was long dead.
Her senses buzzed yet, though, as she could feel, hear, and smell more of the same enemy that lurked nearby and she let out a low and threatening growl. She was smart enough to know that if this one was to attack her master, the others would, too. Without another moment of hesitation, 'Foxy' turned and rushed into the darkness, slightly illuminating the area around her as she tore into the other enemies she could sink her own claws and teeth into.

Seigmand rolled with the force of the beast's pounce, letting his back hit the ground and his feet come up to catch the creature's exposed stomach. Kicking out with all his force he pushed the creature up in the air, the forward motion of its attack carrying it through. With a quick slap of his hands on the ground he simultaneously pushed himself up and back on his feet, while also creating two pillars from the ground that flew out to strike the airborne creature in the chest. It landed outside the field of light, but Seigmand doubted it'd be getting back up.
He took a brief moment to glance at the creature Alex had summoned into the room. As it leapt and dashed at the shelled creatures, he saw that there were a fair deal more of the creatures in the room. At least 6 more. At least these ones seem to only be fast, still it seems odd that they'd be placed here for protection unless they had some hidden talent. Two more came dashing in towards the group, while another 2 seemed to have climbed the ceiling, and dropped right from above in an effort to surprise the Sumata warriors.

Xïsa pulled out his Claymore like weapon and pointed it at one of the upcoming beasts. The end glowed purple and then a pillar of ice hit the beast that his claymore was pointing at. The other one he swung his Claymore at it. The beast jumped backward and clawed at his Stomach. The claw cut his cloak. He swung his Claymore and cut off its arm.

Multiple beast bodies flew in all directions as Alexander's minion ran back into the area where the three men were - she immediately dove onto some of the creatures that fell from the ceiling. Alexander then shrugged, holding his staff tightly as he muttered a few words in a strange language--half a second later, 'Foxy' split into two beings and both took to attacking anything that got in their way.

Seigmand watched with passive interest as the other two swiftly dealt with the attacking creatures. I guess the creatures just migrated here. Not nearly deadly enough to be here for defense. Hmmm... With the latest batch slayed and the twin foxes dealing with the last few, Seigmand bent down to examine one of the beast's corpses. Pulling aside its jaw he gasped a little. "Gentlemen," he paused for a moment as he stood up. "This things didn't kill the people in here. They're herbovours, and by all the amount of noise we've made battling these things, I'd say we're about to find out what really nests in this room real soon."
Almost as if on cue, the remaining beasts shrieked loudly before bolting off through the way the party came. Somewhere off in the direction Seigmand and the others were going a dull hissing sound could be heard. It got louder and louder, almost exponentially. Seigmand pulled his staff out, adopting his stance quickly. "Here it comes." He whispered softly. The hissing was so loud it seemed to fill the room, the source lost in the echoes its terrible voice made. Suddenly a pair of steel blades lashed out from the darkness. With blinding speed they came from above aimed at Xisa's skull.

Xïsa deflected the blades with his but one nabbed his right arm and slammed him into the wall "I think this is the one that killed everyone." He said calmly.

As the beasts made their escape, the foxes tried to follow behind them, still getting the idea that they were harmful.
"Foxy!" Alexander called suddenly. The two girls standing brightly illuminated in the darkness perked their ears up, giving him an attentive glance before speedily rushing back to their master's side. Alexander tucked his staff under his arm for a moment to reach both of his hands down and scratch behind the foxes' ears, and they were wonderfully content with the display of affection until the hissing sound began and the blades came flying.
They simultaneously let out a soft growl, standing immediately to attention and glaring ahead ready to attack whatever would come out to them next.
