He laughed out loud. "Leading on!"They started walking again, Shiluya doing looops in the air around the two. She'd taken an immediate liking to the Messenger, almost faster than Faey had, and Vaan had become fond of the little shadow, whatever she really was.

Faeylinn kept glancing at Vaan while they walked, becoming easily distracted by the light shade of his hair again his tanned skin, his blue eyes, his smile... Then she stumbled a bit and returned her gaze to the ground in front of her to hide her blush.

From a more forested area nearby, a rustling sound could be heard as one Kouji Minamoto came out of the trees. Seeing the two people there, he stopped and blinked for a moment. Taking in the girl's jeans and baseball hat, he assumed that she was another 'hero' like himself and called out to the two travelers.

Faeylinn glanced over at the guy who'd called out to them and smiled, waving. "Hiya! I'm Faeylinn, who are you?"

"Kouji Minamoto," he replied, walking over to them. "Do you have any idea where the next town is? I'm... kinda lost." He hated to admit it, but he was.

Faeylinn shrugged and looked to Vaan. "What's the town we're going to? Hey, maybe you could come with us- if you want?" She looked back to the guy, who seemed maybe a little younger than she was.

"What are you doing out here, anyway?" Vaan asked, a little on his guard. THe younger boy seemed like a Hero - all of them wore the same kinds of strange clothes too perfectly made to have been woven by any human hand, but he wanted to make sure.

"Looking for the next town," Kouji replied, a little annoyed that this Vaan guy didn't trust him. "And I'm not interested in picking a fight with anyone, unless you're Sumata." He gave Vaan a distrustful look. "Look, I'm tired, I'm hungry, and I was wandering around those burning woods for days before I found my way out here. Can you just show me where I need to go?"

"Sure! He can come with us, right Vaan?" She gave him a pleading look. She couldn't help it- she knew what it was like to be lost and have no one willing to help you.

"Alright. Don't worry, we're not Sumata." Well... Sumata Secessionists, at least for me, but not in the way he means. "I'll show you the way."
He beckoned Kouji to follow. "Oh, yeah, my name's Vaan Seraph. This is Faeylinn, but she already told you that."
And I'm Shiluya! The shadow giggled and flew up to Kouji, staring him in the eyes.

Kouji took a step back from the... thing. He'd never seen anything like it before, and it was talking in his head!
