Just 'cause I'm from Nerezza, doesn't mean I'm automatically a Sumata sympathizer!" Turning to Faey, he explained, "Captain Lana Princel is one of Queen Elexa's captains. She recently left the Sumata."

He turned back to Kouji and took a deep breath. Time for a little creative rearrangement of the truth.

"Captain Princel's a friend. When she came back from Earth, she told me she'd quit the Sumata and why. That's how I know, okay? Calm down!"

Kouji's hand went back to his sidde, but he still looked at Vaan a little suspiciously. "And how do I know you're not lying?" he asked.

She moved in between the two. "Obviously there's just a slight miscommunication here... Vaan is with the heroes, Kouji, and I'd really rather you two didn't fight."

Vaan nodded. "I was just surprised - I didn't expect to hear someone mention Kouichi this far from the Crepusculum Kingdom. I really shouldn't be surprised, though..."
