"There is a prophecy about you guys but once we get out of here, we should be able to get to Crepusculum Kingdom soon." M said.

Kouji nodded. It matched up mostly with what he'd read.

Donovan was fed up, more so than usual, and he was ready to cut the crap and get things figured out. Kouji had been acting weird around this "M" character and seemed to know more about him then he was letting on. Donovan was a master of card games; not so much from his luck, but rather from his ability to read people. Those factors combined were enough to make Donovan put a stop to things as the were.
"That's it! You, kid!" he said pointing at Kouji. "This is why I don't trust you, cause I can tell you're hiding something, and it's starting to piss me off! I would strongly suggest you cut the s***, and spill what you know about this so called "M" guy."

Zeke stopped dead in his tracks. Donovan's outburst at Kouji made him spin around to face the two. Zeke was trusting to a fault and he knew it, yet usually he dismissed Don's mistrust for others. After all, that was just who he was. But his words did hold some truth. After all, between the sarcastic remarks from Kouji and the almost taunting hints from "M", a man who hadn't even given them a name, he did need to question it all.
"Kouji, you wouldn't keep us in the dark would you?" He said with a pleading tone in his voice, not wanting to believe their newest friend was misleading them.
Suddenly an odd thought crossed his head. Zeke was eager to go with the flow, but he wasn't stupid and when he thought the last couple of minutes over, something didn't make sense. "Wait a minute. M, you asked us for our names, yet you already knew who we were. Why would you be worried about sending enemies to Yeligar if a prophet already told you about us and you knew we're suppose to be heroes?"
Zeke went over beside Donovan. After all, he had never guided Zeke wrong before, and they had learned that to stick together was to prevail. "I'm with Donovan. If he says somethings up then I'm not going anywhere till he's satisfied."

"I need what the names are not what the faces look like." M said "I only assume that you are the ones from earth because everyone on Crepusculum knows that you should have a cloth to cover your mouth." He looked around "Is that it?"

Kouji sighed.
"This man is the man who brought me to Crepusculum. I only caught his name and passing and don't remember it right now, but he serves the prophet who told me what was going on. Since that's really the limit of what I know, I'm not hiding anything... I'm a little pissed at him because as soon as the prophet told me what I was supposed to do, he vanished without a trace leaving me to find my way on my own."

"I am sorry about that but there was something that I was forced to attend to." M said, but he then stopped looked around and then lean against a tree "Hide." He said.

Zeke was right. Things just kept getting farther and farther from what seemed to be the truth and the inconsistencies Zeke brought up just put "M" and Kouji in a worse position on Donovan's books.
"Alright Kouji, I'm giving you one last chance to tell me what the hell you know, and you'd better tell the truth this time, cause if you don't I'll know, and i wouldn't want to be you when the s*** hits the fan." As Donovan said this he reached nonchalantly into his pocket and gripped his player pin, preparing to read Kouji's thoughts as he answered.
"Last try, Kouji. Let's make it count," Donovan remarked, as he hid his stone cold gaze behind his shades.

"The truth is that we'd better do as he says."
Kouji firmly believed the satement nd ducked behind a tree. In his mind, more thoughts raced.
'Why the hell is that damn Yeligar trying to hide so badly from the good guys? Well, maybe nto all good...'
In his mind, a picture of Donovan formed.
'I don't trust him, and I know he doesn't trust me. Zeke's not bad, but he's got a lot to learn about the ways of the world - seems to think life comes from some anime. Reminds me a little bit of goggle-head...'
Another picture, a memory, flashed into his mind - a brown-haired boy with a pair of goggles strapped to his backwards hat and a goofy grin.
'I wish Yeligar wasn't putting me in this position. I don't want to lie to them, and I wouldn't if I didn't know there was a damned good reason.'
A face flashed into his mind once more, this time of a black-haired boy who looked almost exactly like him, the only difference being that his hair was short instead of long.
'Kouichi... what the hell have we gotten ourselves into this time? It's been five years since that happened, why did we get picked again now? Damnit... I wish I knew where you were, maybe then I could protect you. No one would think you were the older twin...'
He looked at Donovan. "I've told you the truth, as much and as well as I can. I'm not with the Sumata, I'm with the heroes, and you can believe or disbelieve that as you like, but I'm tired of playing twenty questions."

Kouji's response pissed him off a bit, but it was really inconsequential. What Donovan wanted was the catch him in a state of cognitive dissonance, and he had succeeded. This "M" person really was Yeligar, and that proved that Kouji was an untustworthy ally, at least in Donovan's mind anyway. Sure his alliance to Yeligar was proof of him not being a Sumata, but his playing ignorant only made the situation more difficult, and that both confused Donovan and made Kouji an even stronger focus of his derision.
What does that little bastard gain by decieving us? Is this funny to him? Does he think f****** around like this helps? *groan* This is why I hate children, they think every situation is god-d*** fun time.
Deciding that it would be best to listed to Yeligar, he ducked in cover, but surreptitiously leaned in close to Zeke and whispered the new found information into his ear in Japanese.

Kouji tried to listen in, but even his accentuated hearing wasn't that good. He growled something under his breath and looked around, trying to spot or hear whatever it was that had alerted Yeligar.

Zeke felt lost in Kouji and Don's fight. He hated not knowing what to believe, and though the last few days had made him feel comfortable with their new companion, he couldn't always dismiss Donovan's feelings, even if they were filled with mistrust often times. It was all he could do to tuck down behind one of the burning trees until the two had put off their dispute in order to hide from whatever M was worried about.
It was only when Donovan joined him and relayed the info he'd gathered from his use of the player pin that Zeke's eyes widened and he looked once more at the now revealed Yeligar. His mental image of the powerful general shattered a little upon realizing the svelt trickster was indeed the man they had been looking for.
Why had he lied? I'm sure he's a good guy, so maybe he just likes to mess with the new guys. Or maybe its some sort of test to see if we're good enough to be heroes. That's gotta be it.
Zeke was so busy pondering the new prospect that he'd forgotten for a moment exactly why he'd ducked beside a tree. He couldn't hear anything, or see anything. Yet both Kouji and Yeligar looked serious, so he stayed quiet and let his brush float softly beside him in anticipation for what laid ahead.

M stepped out from behind the tree to check around. "I think it is gone." He said but then he saw something running at him. As it tackled M, he pulled out a knife and started to stab the animal attacking him. Once he kicked it off, He got a good look at it, It looked like a rat, that was 7 feet long. "Crap, a Rous, I hate Rous!."

"That's one big rat," Kouji said. His voice was deadpan.

"God, I hate this place more and more by the minute. At least back home when I was alive, the biggest vermin I had to deal with were just people," Donovan though and chuckled to himself quietly.
"So, Yeligar, what's your plan to get us out of this mess, huh?" He said with a sly grin spread across his face. Yeligar's jig was finally up. Why he needed to go to such lengths to hide who he was made little sense to Donovan, but that was a trite effort in the end and now things could finally move forward; well... as soon as the giant rat was taken care of anyway.
