Zeke, Donovan and Kouji had been on the road for about a week, their travels taking them away from Guasto and into the fiery realm of Ignis. The swamp was thick with the stench of sulfur and ash, making it hard to breath at points.
"Geez, why is this place so hot? Seriously there's like fire spewing everywhere! Hey," he turned around to Donovan, smiling with a silly expression. "we should totally do like Barbeque or something here. We could totally cook like, anything in a couple seconds with this heat." He jabbed his head towards a pillar of fire that erupted just a few feet away.
Joking aside, Zeke was feeling fatiqued from the intense heat of the kingdom, and their travels had left them empty-handed so far. Kouji had mentioned that there was a man who had been recuiting the people from Earth and giving them guidance. Zeke had hoped that they would eventually meet this guy, and at the very least they were apparently getting closer to this "Crepusculum kingdom" that was suppose to be safer for the Heroes to travel in.

"You know that if you do bring food out here, the Animals here will assume that they are invited." A man said. He was standing in the trees looking down on the party. "Where might you travelers be heading?"

Zeke looked upwards at the mysterious man. Without even thinking Zeke blurted out, "Hey there! We're going to Crepusculum kingdom. We gotta find this, ummm..." He scrunched his brow trying to remember the name. "Yelper? Yell Girl? No, that isn't it. Oh yeah! It's Yeligar! Hey, you wouldn't happen to know him would you? It's kinda important."
The man looked more curious than anything, and something in the man's face let Zeke just open right up, though it didn't really take too much to make Zeke open up to anyone.

"I think I can help you." He said as he jumped down. "I know him very well, and who might you be? I do not want to betray him by sending the enemy to him."

Kouji was lagging a little behind his new companions, but he saw Yeligar jump down from a tree in front of him... and his eyes narrowed slightly.
Okay, it wasn't exactly Yeligar's fault that his Los Angeles vacation had been interrupted. And it wasn't like Kouji'd been enjoying vacation anyway. But still, he needed someone to be annoyed at for the mess he was in and Yeligar was an easy target.
"You."

"Yes, me!" He said. "So, Names would be helpful. Shall I guess the names, Zeke Omoihake?"

"Whoa, no way!" Zeke almost staggered back in shock at the man's astute guess. "That's pretty cool, but how'd you know? Are you a psychic? Oh, can you see the future?" He was already getting worked up. It wasn't until he looked at Donovan looking at him with that dispariging glance that he collected himself and tried to stay serious.
"Umm, yeah that's my name. This guy Kouji says we're suppose to find him. And I sounds like you guys know each other, so I'll bet you can lead us to Yeligar right?" Zeke had already pictured Yeligar in his mind. A mighty warrior, muscles like tree trunks and a powerful jaw. His eyes would be hard and cold from battle, and tons of scars to match. After all, any guy you stood against a bunch of powerful kings and queens would have to be super strong. He couldn't wait to meet the guy. Zeke smiled at the prospect.

"I have a friend who is psychic, but that will become important later, but as for..." Yeligar said, as he pulled out a container and pulled out 4 wet pieces of clothes. He handed a piece to everyone, including himself. "Wear these, help to breath here."

Kouji loked at the cloth, then back at Yeligar.
"Fine."
He took the cloth and replaced his bandanna with it. True to Yeligar's words, it reduced the heat.
Listening to Zeke's words, he couldn't help but snicker. "Sure he can," he said, amusedly sarcastic.

Zeke let his brush catch the cloth, then looked over towards Donovan for some assistance. He couldn't help but wonder exactly what Kouji's tone meant. It sounded like he didn't care for this man, but why?
"Thanks bud, I guess. So where are you taking us then? As long as its out of here, I'm game." Zeke paused for a moment. "Oh wait, my bad!" He bowed towards the stranger in apology. "I was so busy getting awestruck by you guessing my name I didn't ask you yours. We need a name for you, don't we?"

"You may call me M." He said "I can not reveal my name because there are people looking for me." He looked at the swamps and then he pointed to a small path. "This is the quickest way to Crepusculum Kingdom."

As per usual, Donovan didn't like their circumstances or their new acquaintance . He would have scolded Zeke for his unwary approach to the stranger, but things had progressed to quickly for him to really get a word in edge-wise.
Pushing his sunglasses up to cover his eyes, he sized up the stranger and it was fairly obvious he wasn't letting on as much as he really should. Unlike Zeke, Donovan was aware that a persons size is not an accurate measure of their strength, especially when magic or other forces are involved. The man was playing it safe and revealing absolutely nothing about himself or their situation, and Donovan's patience was starting to run thin.
"Alright, cut the crap and lets get things moving. If you are indeed an assistant to this Yeligar person, then how bout you cut the parlor tricks and actually do your job. And this ain't no Shonen Anime series, so you can stifle this whole ambiguous introduction routine and get to the point."

Kouji couldn't help but cough out a laugh.
"Don't worry about him... he won't hurt us," Kouji put in. "He's crazy, but he's on our side."
It was obvious that Yeligar didn't want his name revealed, so he decided to play along, despite his dislike of the man. Maybe he'd lead him to something useful.

"Now who said that I was an assistant to Yeligar? All I said was that I knew him very well." M said. "Now, I would advise that we should be as quiet as the grave until we leave the Swamp. They have good ears." He started to run down the path that he had pointed out earlier.

Zeke shrugged a little before running to catch up with the fleet-footed M. The man was unusual, and Donovan's off hand remark about Anime series had made him question the man's true intentions for a moment. He'd remembered quite a few where the ambiguous stranger would guide adventurers for a time before either being the very person they were looking for, or an evil minion getting them off track. But in the end he figured going anywhere was better than the hot and humid wetlands. It was easier for Zeke to just trust and hope for the best with this.
"So... when we get to this Crepusculum kingdom, then we get to meet this Yeligar guy right? And is there like a prophecy or something about us?" Zeke's interest had been peaked by M's subtle hints and lead-ons.
