*Mark jumped up from the table.*
Mark: NO! SHE WILL NOT! *Quickly realizing what he just did he pulled himself down behind the table, everyone in the room looked around for who screamed as Mark reached up and grabbed the knife from his table and was tempted to assassinate him... very tempted.*

Although everyone else may not have seen him, she did and sighed. She then looked back at Alexander and smiled.
"Yeah, let's dance." she stood up from her seat.

Alexander blinked for a moment, scanning the room quickly like everyone else to pick out who could have been the source of the outburst that happened only a moment ago.
"Wow, I'm...I'm sorry; usually they keep the rowdy yahoo's out of the pub--must have some new guy working. It's okay though, you're perfectly safe with me if he causes any trouble," Alexander, still holding Harumi's hand rose from his seat and lead her out to the floor. Stopping close to the players, Alexander faced Harumi, taking one of her hands in his, and the other resting gently around her waist.
"It'll be fun. Really. Have you waltzed a lot before?" he asked as he began to take the first couple of simple steps to the dance.

"I know a bit," she said trying to remember what she was taught it was hard considering it was her father who taught her and she was pretty sure he taught her the man's part. "Not very much at all."

"Well, it's really easy...you just need to follow me. Like this..."
Alexander showed her a couple of the steps, the simple combination of the one...two...and three, and patiently moved slow for the first few moments. Once he thought she was feeling a bit more comfortable with the steps, he started to move a little faster, and more flashy as well.
"It's a really easy dance once you get used to it. And I'm sure you will get only better and better at it, my lady Harumi," he smiled as he said her name again, almost as if there were no such sweeter word that could have ever been said.

She fallowed him closely, at first she stumbled a bit but soon got to the point where she could fallow him... slowly though, but it was good enough.
"Thanks, it seems so hard but with you teaching it it seems to easy." she said with a smile, she started caring less and less about her father being here.

"Well, I do have to make sure you are having fun, don't I? Dancing isn't so much fun if you don't know how, but as I suspected, you've picked up on it wonderfully," Alexander's stomach did a small flip as he saw a smile creep across Harumi's face. It was nice for him to see he was doing well and keeping her happy.
He took her hand and then guided her in a quick twirl before pulling her back in, but closer this time.
"I do hope I don't come off to you as stuck up or arrogant, I think I actually rather like your company," he chuckled and then stared in her eyes as if he were eagerly searching for something in them.

"No I don't think that about you at all," she was close enough she could smell what he smelled like, and she wasn't used to being this near to a man at all. "You're not what I expected from a Sumata at all."
She said that more to herself ((and very quite)), she kept in mind who he was and what he worked for but it was hard too, she wanted to forget about the Sumata thing.

Good news. Only too good of news!! He held her close, trying to keep his hands perfectly still so as not to startle her, but nothing could describe how much he wanted to stroke her back, feel her curves...
"Really? Well, in that case..." Alexander did back off for only a moment to start digging in his pocket, "I was...I was going to actually wait until I escorted you home for something like this, but I can't tell you just how happy I am to meet someone so...like you. That said, I'd like if you came to visit my castle sometime, come visit me...y-your father's more than welcome, too, if he has a problem with it, that is..."
He pulled out a golden broach from his pocket and approached Harumi again, taking her for only a moment to pin it to her chest.
"I-I'm sorry if that's a little awkward, I assure you I am a well brought-up gentleman. I have to be, otherwise I wouldn't have become king like I did...but I digress, the guard at the gate will surely give you hell if you get anywhere close, but flash him this broach and he'll have no reason to say no...it was custom-made by my mother for my father many years ago."

Her eyes sparked at the broach.
"I-it's lovely," she said looking at it and back at him, "Thank you. But should I really be taking something that your mother gave to your father?"

Alexander smiled warmly as he took both of Harumi's hands in his own.
"My lady Harumi, it matters not anymore what becomes of the broach. Mother gave it to Father, died after giving birth to me, and Father treasured it all these years as it was all he had of her until he too passed away. Material items are of no use to the dead, and even still he now has the only thing he wants--Mother, in the afterlife."
Alexander released one of Harumi's hands, taking the remaining one in both of his own and brought it upwards, gracing it with a gentle kiss.
"Besides, something about you strikes me as the type of person who will care for it. Keep it. And feel free to ask me for anything, you and your family," he spoke with much sincerity, "the only thing I ask is for you to grace my palace with your presence, at your leisure, though I admit my heart begs for it to be rather soon."
He wouldn't say it, but even if she didn't he at least hoped that whenever she looked at the broach she'd be reminded that she should visit him at some point--hooray?

She was about to give the answer he wanted... then she remembered something, something she knew would get in the way. Her father was with a group that called themselves Heroes and they were against the Sumata, saying she'll go with him not only puts her in the middle of the conflict but it would make her choose between her father and Alexander.
"I'd love to but..." she took a deep breath and finished her thoughts, "But I can't, to many things I haved to do and as much as I would love to I can't."

The invisible spear met Alexander's heart.
AND THEN STABBED IT THIRTY-SEVEN TIMES.
"But why?" he asked, "I surely enjoy your company as I hope you've also enjoyed mine. Have I come on too strong? I apologize for it if so."
He didn't know what to say. He had hoped only so much for her to say yes, it was hard to take 'no' as her answer. Of course Alexander wouldn't push her, that'd do no good.
"Is there anything that will change your mind? Anything I can do?"
((I'm really sorry, i couldn't help but throw in the 'thirty-seven times in the chest' joke =p "Caaaarrrrll, that KILLS people!!"))

"No you can't do anything," she said taking a step back from him, "It would be better if you just stayed away, I'm afraid you'll get hurt if you stay around me much longer."
She didn't look at him, she just took the broach off her and held it out to him.
"Please, just take it."

How heart-wrenching; Alexander stood perfectly still, his hands resting at his sides as Harumi backed away from him. He bit his lip and closed his eyes, taking a long and deep breath. Things had been going so well, too, and he was used to being rejected but this was...different. It hurt him way more than usual (you might even say it actually hurt for once).
He opened his eyes slowly and as she held the broach out to him he shook his head, even if she couldn't see it at the moment.
"It's yours. I already told you, it matters not what happens to it anymore. It is a gift from me to you, and your key to the Santo-Luce palace," though his words were coated in obvious sadness, he was still sincere, "...I'll do as you wish, if staying away from you is what you really want...but my hospitality still stands. You and your father have access to my palace, and are more than welcome to still come and ask me for anything--you are citizens of my kingdom, afterall..."
Alexander finally held his hand back out to her and added, "At least grant me the privilege of escorting you home safely." Being rejected was bad enough, but what kind of a guy would he be to make her walk home alone at this time of night and something happen to her? Especially after he was the one who dragged her out here to begin with.
