She pulled her hand back holding the broach close to her.
"I don't know..." she said as she argued with her thoughts, having him walk her home would make it so much more harder, although saying no again might just kill the poor boy. "I guess you can walk me home..."

Alexander responded with a nod and almost reached out to take her hand again...but after a moment's hesitation he simply slid both of his hands into his pockets.
"Alright...I suppose I should be getting you back home, hopefully long before your father starts worrying about you my dear lady," he said, trying to smile a bit more for her though it was very hard to do so.
Perhaps it was for the best, at least the long and silent walk home was some time that Alexander needed to think. Not that he wanted to think about many things while walking the young lady home. But before he would say goodbye to her, he would recite one poem to her that he heard once many years ago, however never knowing the author.
"All the love that history knows is said to be in every rose. Yet all that could be found in two is less than what I feel for you..."

"Alright..." she said doing her best not to talk, this was a hard... veeeerrrrryyy hard. The silence was just as annoying though.
They walked a bit out of the town and back the near the beach where her house was located, it was hard to see in the darkness but if you looked closely you would be able to see it.

"This is where you live, then?" Alexander quietly asked as they approached the small house. He felt a little better knowing that he did walk her home, it was quite dark out here. He'd stopped only a few feet away from the door, it was probably best he followed her no further than this anyway.
"My dear lady, Harumi," he finally said again, grabbing her hand one more time, "I...I apologize for this. It hurts so, but I'm not being a very good man about it, either. Please remember what I said, as I won't forget you, ever. So help me, I'll find a way to make it right and hope someday you'll want to look my way--if it's your father you worry about I'll do what I can to show him I won't hurt you and never shall."
He was hopelessly rambling again. Not good, time to cut it now before he got too emotional over it. He looked back at her again with a smile, one so full of hope and great love.
"You know that all the love that history knows is said to be in every rose," Alexander spoke softly as he brought Harumi's hand to his lips again, "yet all that could be found in two is less than what I feel for you."
He let her go and took a step back, watching only to make sure she made it into her house safely.

She gasped at what he said, it was beautiful and quickly in her mind she tried to find a way to make him stay but came up with nothing. So she quickly thought of someone to blame for this mess. Her father? The Heroes? The Sumata? But all she came up was with one person and it was herself.
She felt like she wanted to cry so overwhelmed with feelings, she turned quickly away from him and ran to her house.
"Goodbye, Alexander!" She yelled clear trails of sadness in her voice and without waiting another moment she slammed the door.

Alexander watched as Harumi left, his eyes widening in worry. Something wasn't right...she'd rejected him but she almost seemed...hurt by it? It didn't make sense. He bit his lip and shook his head as he heard the door slam, turning around and only taking a couple of steps before he stopped and looked back at the house sitting there on the beach. Alexander frowned. Something was wrong and it wrenched his heart even more to think of it. He looked up at the sky and all of the stars that had come out, there were so many of them. He thought of his father and how disappointed he had been with Alexander, and then his thoughts went directly back to Harumi. In some way, he couldn't help but connect them...they had both been upset with him in some way or another, he was sure. "I'll make it right..." Alexander sighed and began his walk back to the castle alone, "...I have to. I can feel it." ((lol and then I moved on and did this right after. Gah, I'm sorry it's so long!!! If you don't/can't read it all, you probably only really need to really worry about the last part of the post starting at the italicized letter, haha.))
