"Just in case that bridge ahead decides we're too heavy," Lana responded, looking over a long, rickety bridge that crossed over a large river.
She stopped in front of it as they got closer and raised an eyebrow.
"You might be fine, but it may not hold me too well," it was odd for Lana to say something like that, being as...thin as she was, "one of your little hero friends seems to think I'm a cow - that effing freak, when I get ahold of that little sonofa--"
And the curses just kept flowing as strong as the river in front of them did. God, that orange-headed freaktard made her angry.
When she finally settled down, she looked over at Kouichi with a huff and said, "Uh...sorry."

He looked at her. "No problem. Sometimes, you just need to vent. Who is this guy you're yelling about, anyway?"

"I don't know, I think I heard the name 'Andy' - all I really remember of him is he's a loud-mouthed freakshow with orange hair and I last saw him with two girls," she sighed and her head rolled back toward the bridge, "shall we? I'll step ahead..."
She took the first step, which smashed and made her stumble forward - using her tiptoes regain balance and not further destroy the bridge she paused, looked back at Kouichi, and shrugged.
"Heh, I guess he was right? Whatev, we've got a mountain to get you to..." and she continued her way as lightly as she could across the bridge.

He shook his head, stepping lightly across the bridge. He doubted that it was becaus eLana was too heavy - even though muscle supposedly did weigh more than fat - rather, he thought it was just the bridge itself.

Lana stepped even further and smiled at the way the bridge moved under her feet.
"Hehe, if my partner was here right now, we'd so be jumping on this thing to see who'd make it fall apart first," she laughed, bouncing a little on the creaking board she was on, "or maybe we'd be trying to see who could beat the other one off of the bridge into the water below...yu-oh!"
As 'luck' would have it, the board she was bouncing on smashed right off and Lana fell halfway through it. She managed to grab on to the side and pull herself up, though the other boards around her groaned as she moved around on them.
And the whole time, she was laughing.

Kouichi couldn't help but let out a laugh - the very thing she'd been talking about had come true. He offered her a hand tohelp her up.
"Need some assistance?"

Lana blinked at Kouichi, almost forgetting that she had been with him that moment and not Ludro. Ludro would have let her fall only to help her out at the last second (as he so commonly did), she wasn't used to someone extending a hand before she nearly fell to her death.
She chuckled. "Heh...yeah, I suppose I would..." and she grabbed his hand, allowing him to help her back to her feet. Odd, as she never usually accepted help.
But hey, he was one of those hero guys, so of course he'd try to help. And she couldn't pass that up if it meant less work for her, right? She was quite convinced she was only looking at this as a convenience rather than...well, whatever else it could have been. Friendly? Uh...no, not how Lana worked.

He braced himself againt the rickety boards and pulled, helpiing her free herself from her mess. Once she was up, he smiled at her. "You alrigh? I wouldn't want my guide to go ad get herself killed before I got where I'm going." His tone was joking - he wasn't really that mercenary, unlike Lana.

"Ha ha," Lana's voice was sarcastic, "I haven't even done anything really stupid yet, I don't think I'm going to die at this point in time. You wait until you see Ludro, then you'll see how we have fun--"
Oh yeah, the plan was probably for them to not run into Ludro, or any equal/superior of hers. Things could and probably would get ugly if they were found out, afterall.
"...Eh. Whatever. We should probably get moving," Lana said again, not really learning her lesson the first time and leaping over boards two-to-three at a time at her leisure. At least none of them broke on her this time. She never did say "thanks" to Kouichi, though she probably should have. Things like that Lana just didn't think about, though.
She neared the end of the bridge, taking herself another large leap at the end, and turned her head to check on Kouichi.

Kouichi was following nimbly along behind her, moving with the grace of a trained warrior mixed with some kind of cat. He looked up at her, shrugged, and stepped off onto dry land.
"Wasn't so bad, was it?"

Lana couldn't help it - she burst out laughing. Something about the way he walked did it. She quickly composed herself though, putting her 'tough face' on again as she looked toward the ever-closer mountain.
"Not too long now. How are you feeling? Still heading in the same place yet or did you decide to change it?" she asked, adjusting her belt as she spoke.
'Little wiener better not send me on a wild goose chase - don't have the time or the patience...'
She gave another cautious look around to make sure they weren't being followed in any way.
((I guess I never mentioned it before, but uh... XD;;; She'll be referring to him as "little/kid this/that" for awhile until she develops more of a genuine respect for him. Just to lessen confusion lol))

He closed his eyes again, then pointed in a slightly different direction that was still pretty much in the direction they were going.
"As I get closer, I'll be able to tell where it is more exactly," he said, slightly apologetic. He wasn't really fazed by her tough attitude.

Lana's eyes followed the direction that Kouichi pointed in. A little more eastward than they had started, but at least it didn't appear they were going to be climbing the mountain.
"Alright! No mountain-climbing! Kinda like your style, buddy," Lana laughed as they continued on, "so once you find this thing you're looking for, what are you going to do? You gonna pick a fight with me or something? You're not looking for this thing so you CAN kick the crap out of me, are you?"
She looked him over again before accusingly adding, "You know, maybe I've been a fool the whole time and you're just playing some trick on me. You little turd, you play dirty!!"

He looked startled. "Wh-what? I don't even have any idea what it is! Besides, you helped me, I'm not going to repay that by turning around and killing you!"
HE sounded a bit scared at the look in her eyes,a nd he threw up his hands in assurance.
