"Yum!" She took a few more bites, chewing quickly before taking a gulp of water. "How much did this cost? I think there's some currency in the bag, I'll pay half of it, at least. It's only fair."

She shook her head. "Don't worry about it. I'm glad to pay - it's only fair, after the fun night we've had. When we're done, I'll escort you to the City, and tomorrow, to the port. How's that?" She seemed rather excited to be able to lead Faeylinn where she wanted to go.

"Uh, okay sure! Where will we be staying for the night? Your place?" She took another bite of the meat, chewing slowly this time.

Her smile turned mysterious under the hood concealing her purple eyes, somehow out of character with the friendly girl Faeylinn had come to know.
"You could say that..."

She gave Elexa an odd look, but then shrugged and took another bite. "This is really good, I gotta remember to come back here somtime!"

She nodded. "It's a nice little place. Too many of the restaurants in the cities import their food from Crepusculum, although that's been hard with this war. You just about done, there, Faey?"

She stuffed as much food in her mouth as she could, full to bursting. "Yup!"

"Alright, then."
Elexa stood, then left a small pouch of money on the table for the restaurant, along with another gold coin outside the pouch for a tip. The server looked down and her eyes widened. "Milady, this is very generous...!"
Elexa shook her head. "It's nothing, Miss... it'shard for everyone in these troubling times; I'm just doing my duty to help those less forunate." Somehow, the words came out kind and sincere, not patronizing at all, and Elexa sounded like a true gentlewoman. "Come on, Faeylinn, we'd best get a move on... DarkSoul City is pretty far from here."

Faeylinn stood up, stretching her legs. "Alright, but I'm not doing any running! I can't stand running!"

"It's alright. Can you ride?" Her question was sudden, as if she'd just thought of it.

"Uh... Ride?" She was confused, obviously. "Uh, I can ride horses, well... Passably. I won't fall off, I think. But something tells me you aren't thinking of horses... Is that just me being weird or am I right?"

She laughed. "It's much the same as riding a horse," she said. "But no... I'm not talking about horses. Come with me... this village has a stable."
She waved Faey down to a rather large stabling facility. When she opened the door and walked in, Faey could see rather large, black birds at the back, standing around nine feet tall at the head, with long necks and long legs.

Faeylinn's eyes widened. "Epic! They're sorta like those Zen-Zens birds from the Pendragon series!"

She tilted her head. "I have no clue what you're talking about... but they're some of the fastest mounts in Crepusculum."
She led two out, revealing that they had saddles slung over their back and strapped under their wings and belly. "They can't fly, but they're very good jumpers, and can easily cross most difficult terrain. They can also see in the dark, which makes them invaluable here where the sun never shines."

"Cool!" She looked up at them bird-things from where she stood, feeling very short. "Uh... How do I get up?"
