The waters of the river were black as Elexa's cloak, and a bridge made of the glowing stone from the cavern crossed them. "There's a village right across here," Elexa explained. "We can stop there and get something to eat, if you want."
She'd kept up her friendly personality the whole journey, despite conventional beliefs as to what her kind should act like.

"Sweet!"
She crossed the river on the glowing bridge, pausing to admire the view. Elexa made good company, and kept a friendly conversation going the whole way. she was obviously hiding something, but she wouldn't push to find out what it was, she'd reveal it eventually.
"I wonder if they serve clam chowder..."

"Not too many clams in Nerezza, sadly... I do have to warn you, though - if you do decide to eat, don't ask what it is until after you've tried it. Most humans from other countries prefer it that way."
She laughed a little.

"The port, eventually. But before that, a small village where we can get some food. Well... where you can get some food. I doubt they'll be willing to feed me."
She shrugged. "Despite the treaty, we still have to rely on the people who get lost out in our territory unless someone willingly lets us take what we need."

"Not very, about ten or fifteen minutes."
She smiled. "Come on!"
True to her word, they soon arrived at a village. Before they entered, Elexa pulled her hood up.
"Eyes like mine cause some people to start to be afraid," she explained. "It's best for me to travel like this."

Elexa laughed. They walked in. The people looked at them suspiciously, but at Elexa and Faey's friendly demeanors, soon warmed up. Elexa showed Faey into a small food place, and ordered some food with odd names.
"Don't worry," she told her. "I didn't order anythign too strange. Try some of each!"

"No complaints, I'm hungry enough to eat the table!"

Several kinds of odd meat were set on the table, along with what looked like different kinds of mushrooms. Elexa let Faey take her pick of what she wanted, then grabbed herself a really small plate and took some of the meats.

Faeylinn took a plate and trook a few pieces of meat and some tasty looking mushrooms, biting into one of them eagerly.
"Hm, this is even better than it looks!"

Elexa smiled. "I'm glad you like it." She took a small bite of one of the meats she'd grabbed.

"That would be..."
She looked at it. "Hm, that's the Klerish meat. It's a rather large furry rodent native to Nerezza... tastes pretty good, too." She took another bite of her own Klerish.
