She walked over, balancing carefully on one foot and putting her foot in Elexa's hands and shifting her weight there.

Effortlessly, betraying her inhuman strength, Elexa lightly tossed Faey up into the saddle of one of the birds. Turning to her own bird, she put one foot in the stirrup and leaped onto it's back. Leaving yet another payment on a special shelf, she turned to Faey. "Come on, then. Your Strider will follow mine - let's go!"
And they galloped away.

Faeylinn held onto the reins frantically.
"Uh, I probably should have mentioned that I haven't done this since I was in Girl Scouts? Like, before I got kicked out in fifth grade!"

She smiled. "Pull backwards on the reins to slow down. Keep your weight forward and don't squeeze with your legs too much, it'll just make you uncomfortable."
She slowed until her Strider was side-by-side with Faey's.
"Don't worry, it'll get easier."

She leaned forward, pulling on the reins slightly. Sure enough, the Strider slowed.
"Okay, now how do I get it to speed up again?"

"Like this! Hah!" She snapped the reins and her Strider went speeding off, the wind blowing back her hood and causing her hair to stream away from her face. She grinned out of pure, sheer joy.

She followed suit snapping the reins ans the Strider took off after Elexa's. She grinned and waved as they caught up.
"I think I'm getting the hang of this!"
Her grins spread as her competitive streak kicked in and she snapped the reins again, urging the Strider to go faster.

Elexa grinned as well, then urged her own Strider forward. "You can't beat me in a contest of speed!" she shouted as she passed Faey.
