((set up for Jasmine and Annabelle BUT WE ARE OPEN TO ANYONE SHOWING UP IN THIS POST. O__O Jump in at any point, I don't care. Hell, I'd encourage it.))
Jasmine walked down the path leading from the Shimmering Lake. After her meeting with Profeta (in which the older woman left upset, leaving a mystery for Jasmine to solve), she'd set forth towards the ruins of her old home yet again to search for a woman by the name of Annabelle Fraus.
Much to the young girl's dismay, there was no one by the house or the lake. She'd spent the time to search in and out of the rubble, and even call out the woman's name a couple of times before finally giving up and heading back to the main town in the twilight country.
How upsetting was this, to learn your mother wasn't entirely what she said she was, and that you were part of a bloodline that could commune with the dead.
Jasmine hated dead things. In fact, probably the only reason why she ever succeeded so well with her healing studies was because she was terrified of failure, of someone dying under her care. And dead bodies creeped her out.
She shook her head. Shouldn't be too long now.

"Loque," the voice of the older woman whom Jasmine seeked spoke out from a small grouping of trees, "you're still alive."
Annabelle stepped out onto the road, pocketing a few herbs she'd picked out only moments ago. Leaning on her staff for support, she made her way slowly towards Jasmine and stopped only a few feet away from her, squinting slightly at the young girl's appearance.
"There's no doubt about it. You are the daughter of Hala."

Jasmine jumped and turned to face the staff-wielding old woman.
"E-excuse me? I....yes, my mother's name was Hala. Why do you ask? Who are you?" Jasmine tried to speak with confidence, but she backed away as the woman approached her. She did not seem harmful...kind of. She was kind of creepy-looking to be honest.
And quite frankly, Jasmine was done trusting random people as of late.

Annabelle stared at Jasmine. The look on her face was unamused, and she began to stab wildly at the ground with her staff.
"Stupid girl! You do not recognize the face!" she shouted suddenly before calming down and taking a deep breath, "but I can forgive you and your poor soul, you obviously got that horrible trait from your useless father. Vincent was such a useless man. Hala should have married a real man! A good one with tighter cheeks and who could produce more than one child!"
And there went the rambling. She knew she was rambling, and she knew this wasn't going to help answer Jasmine's question.
But my god did it make her feel good to let out all her frustrations about the Loque family out on her.
"Annabelle Fraus! Do you not recognize the name, dear child?!" she finally spat out at the end of her minute-and-a-half-long rant.

Jasmine blinked.
"R-recognize you? I'm sorry, I don't think I...I don't believe we've met before, ma'am," she stuttered, racking her brain for all of the old people she actually knew in her life. Or at least someone by the name of Annabelle.
"I...I think 'Fraus' sounds familiar, I know I've heard it before but..." that was a long time ago, and she was sure her mother had used the name before. Was she an old patient, perhaps? Whoever she was, she certainly knew a fair bit about her family.
Again? Creepy.

Annabelle sighed.
"'Fraus', child...is your mother's maiden name--my daughter," she slowly hissed, "therefore, that would make you my...?"
Come on, puppy, jump through the fiery ring.

Jasmine stared at Annabelle. This woman was, as Profeta said, to know her family. She knew so much, it seemed, and it hadn't quite sunk in until she mentioned her mother's maiden name....
But even still, Jasmine would have sworn she'd never seen the woman in her life.
"G-grandmother? Err...I suppose I'd be your grandchild..." she answered quietly and gave a better look at the woman, her eyes were blue and had the same look to them as Hala's did, and such a stern facial expression that had Jasmine actually paid attention earlier, she probably would have noted that she looked almost similar to her mother...

"Very good!" Annabelle clapped happily as she took a few steps closer to Jasmine, "such a smart granddaughter, aside from a few dead brain cells but that was Vincent's fault. At least you're not fully stupid like he is. Come, let me see how you have grown, I haven't seen you since you were but a wee little lady just learning to read..."
Without any hesitation, Annabelle stabbed her staff firmly into the ground so that it would stand freely as she used both hands to grab Jasmine. She held out her arms and then examined her face, flipped her hair a bit, ran her hands down her waist and then finally grabbed at her chest.
"You've been well, Hala raised you only too well! Look at that body, you'll make a fine wife with those arms and those hips--many children for you, I can see, but oh," Annabelle frowned as she grabbed at her chest, "...this is a problem, granddaughter. I understand you are still young, but this must be worked on if you are going to attract yourself a fine man!"

Okay, so not only was this woman supposed to have knowledge on spirit channelling, but she was also her grandmother and she seemed to have a great disliking for Jasmine's father. Nice.
Oh, and now she was molesting her, even more wonderful.
"Eeee! What are you doing?!" Jasmine shrieked as Annabelle grabbed at her, "what if someone comes by and sees this--Grandmother, really!"

Bad luck, pure bad luck. Andy was heading to pay his respects when he heard Jasmine scream. And as usual he drew his sword and charged in...to find the oddest thing over. Some old hag in front of Jasmine, and she was....
"What...the...hell?" Andy blinked, should he even TRY attacking?

Jasmine's face went red. Of course, this had to happen like this, didn't it?
"Uh...A-Andy...this is my..." Jasmine slapped Annabelle away, "grandmother...I haven't seen her since I was very young, apparently..."

"How dare you slap your own grandmother, you ungrateful granddaughter, you!! I try to help you and this is how you show your respect?! Just like Vincent, that useless man," Annabelle snapped and grabbed her staff suddenly, raising her eyebrow at the young man who'd just come by.
"And who are you? Why are you staring at her like that? You plan on putting a ring on her finger? Put that knife away before I put it away for you!"

Andy narrowed his eyes at the older woman's jeers, five seconds meeting (her grandmother apparently) and he decided she was as bad as Vincent. He did not put away his sword, he did shoulder it though.
"Andy Jammer. I'm one of the warriors under Profeta." he said with a slight tinge of annoyance in his voice.

"Is that so?" Annabelle answered slowly as she took a couple of steps towards Andy, "Well, Mr. Jammer, it is great to hear you are a warrior and stepping in to give that Trucido a good kick in the teeth like he deserves. That rotten, rotten man! If I ever get ahold of him, I'll..."
She gripped her staff tighter and mumbled under her breath for another moment before looking back up at Andy and blinking.
"Have you met my granddaughter? She is lovely, looks just like my daughter. I can feel the magic she is capable of performing and I know my daughter will have taught her well how to cook--I apologize, she is a little slow at times because her father is useless and that is his fault, but other than that she is a very good girl."

Andy blinked, once or twice, but he answered afterwards, "I already met her, she's my friend and my travelling partner."
