Again, it was a new day, and Ayalan was roaming the streets, inspired by the sights. His knuckle was out, spiked as he put his basic advertisement on. He walked up, and saw the huge castle, shaking his head as he passed the main gate. It wasn't his place, he was very respectful of most kings. He found himself rested against a tree as he looked up at the sky, admiring and waiting for another anonymous contact, or maybe a familiar face. Who knew. The only things one could see of him is the gauntlet, the knuckle, and the yellow eyes.

A young man, who looked a little lost, bumped into him.
"Owch! Sorry. Sorry. Sorry."
He was leading a strange, black, bird-like creature that looked like some kind of mount, and his hair was blond, a couple shades too light for his tan skin. He bowed frantically to Ayalan.

Ayalan put his arms in a small annoyance based fold over.. "...It's no problem. Nice ..Strider...?" He couldn't believe it if it was, these were almost impossible to find around here...."You come from Nerezza don't you?" He put his hands on his hips, actually interested in this individual, "What brings you to this town?" Ayalan's magical imbued arms were glowing as he kept his teleportation spells ready at hand, he didnt extend a hand, but he did add in, "And hey. Calm down. I dont kill people once I meet them." He laughed.

Vaan laughed nervously. "Sorry. Yeah, I'm from Nerezza. Tryng to find my way back home... is it always so bright in the daytime around here? I came in at night and all the landmarks've changed..." He sighed. "I'm sorr if I seemed a little nervous. 'Don't shoot the messenger' is all well and good... if you're not the Messenger. Not sure just what the Crepusculum Guard does to messengers riding black Striders... or yellow ones, for that matter." He bowed. "Vaan Seraph, sir."

Ayalan smirked as he listened to the man, nervously getting through an introduction, as he extended his brass knuckle'd hand. "Ayalan." Was all he said, and then he added, "By the way, I'm not part of the guard. Just a nomad." He grinned, going up to the Strider.."What'd you name it?" He looked to Vaan, and put his hands on his hips.

Vaan smiled, his eyes lighting up - literally. The glowed slightly in the daylight, and his expression softened as he patted her flank, smoothing the large, soft feathers. "Her name is Swift Night's Wind Racing," he said. "She's one of the fastest Striders in Nerezza. I've raised her since she was a hatchling. Most people just call her Windracer, since it's a bit shorter."
She 'warked' amicably at Ayalan.

Ayalan could only laugh softly at the Strider as he pet the neck of the riding creature. "Can't believe it..she's a beautiful Strider. I always tried to work myself toward one but my line of work got me more into learning how to move fast myself." He shook his head with a laugh and then leaned back against the tree.."So you come as a messenger from a bit far away. Not that I have the right to know, but what message did you come to deliver? " He then looked to Vaan, "I mean, normally people don't just consider their occupation as a messenger..you seem like you would make a good cavalry rider."

Vaan laughed. "But, see... most people aren't working for Milady." He shook his head, smiling. "I'm no warrior, sir. I feel honored just to be a Messenger... especially since before I was a messenger, I was a stable boy." He avoided the subject of the message he'd delivered. "And Nerezza's not all that far away from here, really. I've been farther from home on Milady's business."
Whoever 'Milady' was, Vaan spoke highly of her, a tone of reverence in his voice when he spoke her title.

Aya caught onto this with a grin. He started out, "Well, you must be happy to move up the ranks so much. Albeit your hard work can easily be seen through your beautiful Strider." He pet the girl continuously with a laugh. "And ya know, Milady..that seems like a very prestigious title, to whom are you referring that deserves such reverance?" He grinned and shook his head, looking over, "I mean, most girls have a name." Aya laughed gently and watched Vaan carefully just in case.

Vaan looked up at Ayalan, then back over to Windracer, biting his lip with slightly sharpened teeth. Pulling out a handful of some kind of strange plant, he fed the Strider before answering.
"Milady is Lady Queen Elexa B'Shera of Nerezza, sir."
He waited for the yells. The calls for the guard. The getting up in arms. He would fight through them if he had to... but he felt too indepted to Milady to deny who his mistress was, especially when he was here on her business.

Ayalan grinned at the teeth, he knew many people with those kind of teeth from his camp; but then he raised an eyebrow at the name. "I've heard of her. Sorry for making you say such in these parts," He nodded and pulled off his knuckle, "She's a beautiful girl by what I've heard too." He took off his weapons and leaned back against the tree, noticing his grimace, "Don't worry. I'm not against you at all. I'm always looking for people to find a place to get a job at." He grinned, nodding at him reassuringly.

"Oh." Vaan looked up at him. "Then... you're a mercenary?" There was a little hope in his voice. A mercenary might understnd what Milady was trying to do... and even if he didn't, might help anyway. A mercenary might be able to help him.

Ayalan licked his canine as he laughed.."....Yep." Was all he could pull out as he smirked, folding his arms. "I'm a wandering merc. Fighter, magic user, failure's not an option for me..and uh....no worries. I don't turn my back on my clients though. Though let me ask, how did you guess?" He folded his arms and looked at him with a grin.

"Well..." Vaan smiled. Reading people was the only 'traditional' thing he was good at. "You're obviously a warrior. You're not a guard, by your own admission, and you told me you wandered around looking for jobs. You're not a soldier, or you would have judged for following Milady. Thus, you're neutral, and, therefore, the only logical conclusion is that you're a mercenary." Windracer 'warked' happilly as if agreeing, and Vaan chuckled.

Ayalan grinned as he shook his head, "Well, I suppose you found a conclusion that worked for you and it is a true conclusion. Yes. I applaud your effort." He bowed for his own introduction and then pet the Strider's effort again. "So then, I suppose you have to deliver your message and I must find my job," He started as he put on his knuckles again, almost as if he were starting a goodbye.
