A young woman was walking along a path, with a spiky-haired blond man behind her. She was looking at a map, with one earbud from her iPod playing Nightwish and a sack full of other assorted items slung across her back. She looked up and saw the mountains. "I see what you mean about 'totally depressing'. But I guess we were going in the right direction after all."

*Mark was bent down to one knee, hand on the dirt with his eyes closed. In a minute he stood back up but didn't respond to her right away, it looked like he was trying to find something.*
Mark: It sure seems like we're going in the right direction... *He shook his head.* But something doesn't seem right.

"Well, that's very ominous. But what isn't right? I can see the Shade Mountains right there." She'd stopped walking when he knelt and now stood with her arms crossed, tilting her head in the direction of the mountains on the word 'there'.

Mark: Right... *Mark nodded stepping forward then stopped turning back to her.* Hey, you don't have a weapon do you?

She shrugged. "No, I don't really fight. I can defend myself, but that's pretty much it."

*Mark frowned.*
Mark: In this world you might be caught in a time when you need to fight in air. *He held out his hand and in a flash of light a blade appeared, weirdly enough the blade itself was dark blue.* Use it or not it would make me feel better knowing you have a blade.

She took the blade carefully. "Even if I wanted to use it, I have no idea how... But okay. No harm in at least having it."

Mark: It's name is Akatsuki Yami, I've had it for years so when we get you a good blade I'll be having it back. *he then didn't speak, a smile grew on his face.* How about we have a little training?

She shrugged. "Once again; why not? I don't have anything better to do, really."

Mark: Great! *He held out his other hand and another blade appeared.*
Mark: Now my master taught me by many different ways. One: he strung me up and told me never to kneel why he would hit me, if I did we would try again, two: he practiced my speed by making me chase him around his house, and three: we battled and went all out ending with his sword in my gut and my blade to his neck. But... I won't do any of that to you, *he held up his blade.* We're just going to battle a bit.

"Well, this is going to be interesting, to say the least... Or painful, on my part..." She held the blade in her right hand carefully, trying to figure out how to hold it the right way. "Looks a lot easier than it is..." She mumbled under her breath.

*Mark held the blade in his right hand and got into a offensive position.*
Mark: Always watch your enemies movements, you can tell what arm they're swinging and where they're moving as long as you watch their movements. *Mark then took a step forward and jabbed his blade at her.*

She stepped away from Mark's blade, bringing her own up awkwardly to knock it away. "How do you make this look so easy?"

Mark: Years of training, also the swords weight matters too. I've always had my sword a lighter weight because I'm dual wield and it might suit you better to have something like a slim blade for fast movements. I won't be able to show you how to fight off a Sumata today, but you have potential, if not in physical combat then in magical combat.

"Was that a compliment?"
