Eli was running through the streets, eyes peeled for anyone who was one of the Heroes. He was running through the streets for awhile now, not really caring where he was going. Just hoping he'd run into one of them as he ran. As he was cutting through an alley leading into the main travelers commute he heard a scream. The yell startled him, he staggered backwards and fell over. Hitting his head lightly on something hard behind him.
"Ow..." he groaned rubbing the back of his head, as he looked behind him he saw he had hit a wood kart...a wood kart that was beginning to move downhill. "Uh...oh..."

Juno cursed her luck, her first time in an Allorum city and she gets cornered by bandits! She had screamed when she saw the knife, backing against the wall. The lead bandit walked forward, bald head glistening in the sunlight...like his smile. His twisted smile. She felt her heart jump as she frantically reached for her knife, ready to use anything to defend herself.
Turns out she didn't need to. For as the lead bandit was coming up to her...a large wood kart rolled downhill and crashed into him. Sending the leader in the air and into a vegetable stand. Knocking him unconscious, she looked at the kart as the men ran to their leader.
Where did that come from...? she thought as she turned to the direction the kart rolled from. She saw someone there, a boy, blond hair, white and black jacket. She saw his eyes trail the direction of the kart and realized what happened.
That boy...pushed that kart to save me. she thought, her eyes lighting up like diamonds. Woooooowwwwwwwwww!

Eli felt his stomach go cold, which felt uncomfortable with his wonderful breakfast. He saw the kart slam into some scary men that were with someone, he couldn't really see who it was since they were wearing a hood. Before he could figure out what he was gonna do he saw the cloaked person run up the steps to him, grab him by the arm and begin running up the streets. Running away from the men who Eli noticed was chasing after them.

Juno realized the men wouldn't stay down from that, she and the boy's life were in danger. So without really thinking she ran up to him and grabbed his arm, determined to lead him out of danger.
"This way!" she said to him, leading him up the streets as she heard the men yelling from behind them. It took some zigzaging through alleys, and hiding in a blindspot between two buildings but they had lost them. Once she was sure they were gone she threw her arms around the boy's neck.
"Thank you so much! You saved me!"

Eli had never been in something so fear inducing before, he trusted this cloaked person to lead them out of the way. Which is what seemed to happen. Once they were out of danger the cloaked person suddenly threw their arms around him, thanking him for...saving their life?
"H-Huh?" he stammered, "I um...well I don't really..."
Eli didn't get to finish his sentence for when the cloaked person pulled away from the hug their hood fell off...to show a girl. A girl with very long purple hair, it was so...unnatural to him. He couldn't help but stare at it.
"...You...you're welcome," he simply said.

Juno giggled at the boy and realized her hood had fell off, oh well didn't really matter so much anymore.
"I admit though, using a kart was interesting..." she said, her eyes being drawn to a strange sword at his side. "Oh...I didn't see you had a sword. You could have fought all those men off on you're own couldn't you?"
The boy had tried to speak by Juno shushed him, "Say no more. I totally know what you're gonna say: didn't enter my mind? Right?"

Eli had gulped, he was almost glad he didn't get to use his sword. He wasn't so good at using a blade. The girl had shushed him before he could admit to his predicament, saying she knew what he was gonna say.
Oh good then-
However what she ended up saying was in fact the complete opposite.
Nevermind...
"No it just...nevermind." he said, sighing. "You're alright, so that's what matters." he added a smile at the end, trying to ease the tension that was still hanging over them.

Wow...he has such a smile... she thought, feeling a little warm under the collar as he smiled at her. She ended up averting her eyes from his gaze, her mind racing of all the things she really wanted to say to him right then and there...
...until she remembered something important she had to do.
"Oh the...I'm so sorry. I...I have to go," she apologized. Bowing to him before running out to the streets. As she was running out she stopped, remembering out of everything she wanted to say to him: one question stood in front of everything else.
"Hey um...what's your name?" she asked, "Can I have the name of my hero?"

Eli felt his heart skip a beat at being called a hero. It made him feel giddy even though he wasn't showing it, much. He gave a big smile and answered her.
"I'm Eli Ventus," he said, "What's your name?"

"Juno Runè," she answered back, "Maybe I'll see you again!"
She gave a quick wave and ran down the streets, her heart beating as rapidly as her moving feet as she sailed down the streets. Elated and a little dizzy, the kind of dizzy that makes you as light as air and as tipsy as a drunk.
Eli Ventus...ooooooohhhhh he was so cuuuuuuuteee she squealed mentally, I wonder if I really will see him again. Oh I need to focus first...right, tracking the Crystal.
She paused and let her senses roam, allow her to pick through the energies in the air and locate them.
"That's...weird...it feels close. Really close." she paused, "In fact...it's as if it's right behind me."
She heard something, movement on the cobble stones. Someone was behind her. Was it Eli? She turned around where she just ran and her eyes widened, someone was there...but it was not Eli...

– "The Shade"The person behind Juno was someone taller than her, wearing a black and red skin tight outfit. Armor layering several parts of his body, and a mask with a huge visor hid his face from his eyes. "Hello my dear...so you are one of the Ketalunanians coming to claim the Crystals?" he asked, his voice dignified...but cold, creating a fear in Juno that outdid her previous one. "I'm so sorry to disappoint but...you can't have it." He took several steps forward to her, "So I'm afraid your little search ends here..." |

Juno took several steps back, finding the strength in her fear to draw her knife. Holding it out threateningly.
"Stay back...stay back!" she yelled, "I won't let you stop us...I won't let you have the Crystals!"

Eli was feeling mighty proud of himself...for a moment or two, until he heard Juno yelling again. This time she was yelling at someone to 'stay back' from her. Not even thinking of the consequences of what could happen he took off down the street. When he found the source of the scream he saw someone wearing a strange armor in front of her, the person must of heard him walking because it turned to face him.
Eli's body coursed through the same fear Juno was feeling, like Juno he managed to pull out his sword. Hoping the action would scare him away.
"L-l-leave her alone!"

"What's this? Someone to come and crash our little conversation?" The Shade laughed, turning to face whoever was coming to them. "Well I..."
He stopped as he stared at this boy who had a sword drawn at him, it looked like...but it couldn't be...
...it wasn't. It may have looked like him, but it wasn't. He stared at this boy and soon he felt his body bubble with laughter, he let out a loud skyward laugh.
"HehehehehehhahahahahAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH! What luck! What a twist of fate!" he laughed, "I don't know who you are...but this gives me a whole new game to play...I decided I won't waste my time killing you."
He raised his hand, "Instead maybe I'll let you watch this town burn...give you the same rage he has."
He snapped his fingers and the sky suddenly began to cloud over, holes appeared within them and something was dropping from the sky. Monsters, all sorts of them...ones the people of Allorum had never seen before. Monsters fell down and let out roars, screams followed and then the beautiful sound of destruction.
And The Shade's laughter could be heard amongst it all, creating a darkness over all the village.

Andy listened to this man, Scott, introduce himself and found himself shocked. "Wait did you say French Foreign Legion? You're from Earth too?" Before he could get the chance to question the man more he saw the sky grow cloudy. "What the..." he said as he saw holes form and something fall from it...they were monsters! "Hell!?" – End "The Shade" – "Destined Fight""Where are these monsters coming from?!" Andy yelled, drawing his sword as monsters landed in the square. Roaring and attacking villagers, but over the roars Andy thought he could hear.... ...laughter? |
