Volkmar was sitting on the finished fixed roof examining the deserted city of Lunatopia. He has been working on one of the abandoned building, fixing it up, putting a roof on it, and so on. Volkmar's new coat looked like his old coat, except for the right arm, with the sleeve removed, and the end was held together with a metal divider. His right arm was wrapped in a bright white wrap all the way up to his fingers. He heard someone from behind, and turned his head. "Hiya." Volkmar said in a tired tone. Fixing a roof can be tiring work.

Kurai gave Volkmar a cheery wave "Hello there!" He said with a small smile that could be seen behind his mask, his attire had changed little since they had fought the Ketulunians, his hair had grown a little bit but he generally looked the same. Looking up at Volkmar who was fixing a roof, or seemed to have finished, he realized the man's own appearance had changed just as much as Kurai's had not.
"You need any help?"

"Nah, I'm basically done." Volkmar said, as he turned his view back to his home city. "It's been a while, Kurai. How have you been?" He pulled out a bottle of wine, and took a large swig from it. He held the bottle out towards Kurai. " Wanna drink?"

Kurai waved away the bottle, he wasn't a very big drinker save for when the occasion called for it really. Looking across the horizon with Volk he shrugged "Not much, really. The order has little work for us now that the Ketulunians had been taken care of, so a lot of it is back to working for the Ariadelventian government as a bodyguard for the royal family. Gives me a not of free reading time I suppose, but I've not had much fun or action since we parted ways..."
He looked across at Volk "How about you? You done anything except being a carpenter?"

I watched from a distance, standing within a half-finished ruin nearby, power safely hidden behind the numbing influence of my coat's wards, wondering if I should approach. In my mind, I realized that never again could I go back to being the simple, silly Vash that had bugged Volkmar incessantly; the dynamic had changed, and both of them knew the full extent of what existed behind the mask. I sighed, shaking my head, but didn't leave, continuing to watch them.

Kurai felt that growing dread which grows in the stomach when one knows they're being watched, and he already had a few guesses at who it may be that was watching them. Tilting his head back he stretched and gave a long yawn, looking up with his Sharingan eye he peeked over his forehead protector and saw the subtle movements of someone in the distance. Could it be?! His hands moved with insane speed, he pulled out a scroll and his hand moved across it in a blur writing something out on it efore it was attached to a kunai knife and thrown.
Lodging in the walls of the ruin the scroll held one word
'Brother!'

I laughed, reading the word, then came out sheepishly with my hands up. Busted, I thought, shaking my head.
"Alright, alright, you caught me!" I confessed, slightly embarrassed; if he already knew I was there, I guessed there was no real point in hiding or running away.

When Vash appeared, Volkmar took the bottle back, and finished it off. He tossed the bottle over at another empty building, hearing it crashed. He gave a wave towards Vash, and turned towards him, "Hey Vash."

I had to admit, I was a little surprised; there wasn't even so much as an awkward pause before he said my name.
Then again, I supposed Volkmar was too drunk to care, judging by the way he tossed that bottle.
"Hey, there, Volk," I called up to where he was repairing the ruins of a house. I gave it an appraising look; not a half bad job. The family who had lived there had been friends of mine, and they would have been proud of the work.

"How have things been, Vash?" Kurai asked as he gently rubbed his normal eye, despite the boring routine he was now under, Kurai found little time to rest, he spent most of his time either reading or training new recruits how to fight in hand to hand combat. It was boring but tiring.

I laughed softly, shrugging. "The same as ever, I'd suppose; traveling from place to place. By now, the story of the brave struggles of the Lunar Knights against the ancient Ketulunan menace has made its way into the repertoires of several of Allorum's best bards." I smiled. "Of course, none of those stories mentions me, for some reason..."

"Aren't you normally an aloof person?" Volkmar asked, as he sat there, listening to the two speak, and staring out at the city.
Something started to move behind Vash, and almost out of nowhere, a monsterous being was behind Vash, standing about 30 feet tall and looking down at him, it's teeth glaring.

Kurai let out a short breath "Um... Vash...?" Kurai raised one finger and pointed it to the figure looming up behind him, it looked oddly familiar... In a, well, 'monster-ey' way.

Seeing as I am a being with near-godlike powe who has lived for four millenia, I would love to say that I calmly turned around and put a bullet between its eyes like the badass I am.
Instead...
"KYAHHHHH!"
....well, instead, I screamed like a little girl and jumped three feet in the air. At least.

Volkmar didn't even turn around, because he knew what, or more specifically, who. "Sayara, really?" Volkmar asked it, "Can't you just say hi?" Where the beast met the floor, an arch appeared, and it swung open, showing the Black Moon, Sayara. "Vashy, why do you never visit!" She asked furiously at him.
