I laughed.
"Easy, 'Guo, take a deep breath! You're no use if you hyperventilate and pass out." I grinned. "A Lunar Knight, huh?" I asked, giving the girl a long look... and then I realized she had no arms.
Sister?
I have my reasons, she replied smugly. This girl has talents where her 'disability' won't hinder her nearly as much as it could.

'Guo noted the way that Vash was looking at Rin, and quickly interceded.
"I know that she doesn't have arms! And I know that's a bit weird! But trust me, she's awesome! It's like, when she was painting? She used her feet. She picked up the brush between her toes and painted on the wall, she has this entire mural thingy on one of the walls back there!" He motioned to the street from which they had come, admittedly there were a few turns but all the same.
"And you remember how you said that the Void specialized in draining mana? Well, I bumped into her, and I swear I felt a link, like when I first communicated with Kerrian! I think I was draining mana from her... But even if I was, it was only for a brief second."

I sighed.
"And this is why you need to practice control, 'Guo," I chided him. "You can't go around draining mana from every Lunar Knight or magic user you accidentally bump into on the street."
Then, I turned to the newcomer. "Sorry about him," I said, pointing at 'Guo. "He's a little over-excitable. For that matter, I can be too." I gave her my best smile. "So, for example - he hasn't even told me your name yet."

Plenty of looks of confusion painted my face for a while, but soon just turned blank. "Rin. Rin Tezuka. Call me Rin. I don't like Ms. Tezuka." And the blank look turns back to one of empty confusion. "What's going on here? I suppose that's the right thing to ask... Out of nowhere, 'Guo just pulls me away from painting..."

I gave him a weary sigh. "'Guo, what am I gonna do with you?" I asked. "Don't worry. This isn't anything bad, Ms. Tezuka, I promise," I told her. "Have you ever heard of the Lunar Knights?"

My eyes look to the sky as I try to think. "Lunar... Knights...?" A groan of annoyance as I think fills the almost-quiet air. "No... I can't remember anything about them... No. No. I don't know anything..."

Ah, well. This was going to take a while.
"Well. Once upon a time, a long time ago, there were people who lived on the moon," I said. "Strange, huh? The story starts like a fairy tale. But I promise you, it's true. People lived on the moon, but their paradise was destroyed in a single day. They came here, to Allorum, and in order to impress the rulers of Allorum, they created thirteen 'moons' with spirits in them to channel each of the elements of mana." I sighed. "But, they didn't ask the kings and queens first... and they were afraid the Ketulunans, as they called themselves, would use their gifts as weapons of war. So an order of Knights was created to seal away their incredible powers."
I pointed at myself. "And so, we, the Order of Lunar Knights, were established, four thousand years ago." I grinned. "With me so far, Ms. Tezuka?"

((In an effort to save time, this is Rin's face)) "Um. Yeah, I guess. Moon people got blown up and came here. Then they made more moons, and people got upset because they were scared. And now the moon people aren't really liked, right?" The face stayed the same, the look both confused and curious. "But why did I get pulled away from my mural for storytime?"

"Because things are changing," I told her quietly. "The Lunar Knights used to only be Ketulunans, but their only remaining city was destroyed by the Sumata. The ancient promise still holds. We needed new Chosen... so we chose. And you're one of the new generation of Knights, Rin Tezuka."

"Eeehh? Now you've lost me. I'm not from the moon. And I'm not a Knight. I'm a painter, and a student... Or am I a Knight? Knights fight. Do I fight? Hrm..." The questions began stockpiling up now. "And... what exactly is a Lunar Knight 'chosen' to do?"

I shrugged. "It depends on the chooser, and the Knight. Their mere existence holds the seal in place. In return for that, they get some cool powers over the element they're chosen for. 'Knight' is kind of a misnomer, really - we're not all warriors, though all of us have at least some skill in combat. Take me, for example; I'm a pacifist! So's 'Guo here, despite the fact that that halberd of his is larger than he is. Mostly, we travel where we want, helping people where we can. At least... those of us who still follow the Order do."
I couldn't help the dark twinge of sadness that crossed through me. Rasen had had such high hopes for Seth, but what he'd seen... there just wasn't any healing from that. Eli was a much happier thought, even if he'd abandoned the old traditions in favor of new ideas. No matter what he wanted to call himself - he was more of a Lunar Knight than many I'd met.

"...Powers? Order...? Helping people? I'm not following anymore. What do you mean by powers? Like flying or fire eyes?! Or turning into a giant lizard?! Woah! That'd be cool..." I stare at some of the empty gray metal, imagining myself turning into a giant flying lizard shooting fire from my eyes. I start laughing under my breath. "Sounds good to me.."

'Guo couldn't help but smile, it seems that Rin's apparently absent train of thought amused him at least somewhat. He remembered when he found out what he was, no, who he is. He was terrified that he was suddenly in chains, he was constricted onto this one path with no possible way out and then he was told that all of that was nowhere necessary if he did not want it to be.
He reached forwards and put a hand on Rin's shoulder.
"Not... Quite..." He muttered with a small wink and smile. "Although... I don't know!" He raised his voice and looked up at Vash with a smile "Is Chalybs 'specialty' turning into giant flying lizards that shoot fire from their eyes?" He looked down at Rin and then back at Vash.
"Because, if it is? I'm going to be jealous."

I laughed. "Sorry, I don't think any Lunar grants powers like that." I gave her a wink. "But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be awesome, does it?"

A small smile crossed my face. "You never know what I could do with whatever I got..." This guy was pretty alright. Keeps his mind open. "So... I'm a Knight? And I have a spirit-thingy who wants me to do something or other, and is gonna give me powers to do it? ...Sounds alright. A little shady... But alright. What do I do to talk to this spirit thing, anyway? I think I should." I still didn't believe it one-hundred percent. But it couldn't hurt to try. If I am the sky, the entire world, why can't there be a spirit that wants me to do something..?
