Aya closed his eyes on this morning- he had been finished making his rounds, and recently, the castle of Chalybian rule had been deemed a bazaar for the people.
Ayalan hated comfy beds and the whole mansion rule, there was just too much room and not enough personality to it, so he decided to live amongst the people, leaving only the command room and the labs for the higher ups of Chalybian rule.
He closed his eyes now, and started to stroll down the streets again, no one really cheered or shouted for him, he simply came upon a few people before climbing down a secluded alley, through and past it, inside an enclosure of Chalybs.
Then his eyes met a fiery hair color, as he folded his arms, approaching the figure, yellow eyes piqued with curiosity. He had heard of a girl that most found interesting for a stupid reason- he felt his mechanical arm, and stopped next to the shorter woman. He didn't care if she knew who he was as per everyone he saw.

Steadiness had become easy after a few years. Few possess the ability to make a straight line with their leg in the air, holding a brush between their toes, and painting with the skill that I do. Well, many call it "skill." It's just me. It's what I do. It always has been. It's been what I've been good at. It was... well, surprising that people wanted these paintings.
I set down the brush on the tray in my easel as I could hear footsteps behind me. I sigh, lowering my head. I hadn't slept in almost two days, trying to finish this painting. "Listen, it's not done yet. Come back in another day or two. It's not ready for sale." I reply in an exhausted, lazy tone. I blink a few times, trying to stay awake, and a rather loud growl came from my stomach. Paint coated almost all of my clothing, and a few blotches on my face. The tops of my feet were coated, but I set my leg down to relax. My mind is in a state of exhaustion where I can think straight. "So if you're buying, look somewhere else."

Aya folded his arms and nodded with a smirk, as he stretched out his neck, nodding.
"It's almost like an axe kick you're doing. I can't imagine the stress you put yourself through. Albeit you know, the term 'starving artist' wasn't meant to be taken literally."
He presented her a roll, he had one in his other hand, figuring it wasn't much, but better than nothing for sure.
"Albeit you know, if you wanted an easy life, you could have gone with a different lifestyle to suit your needs, but you set out on a path that best fit you-I can respect that."
Aya's signature yellow eyes scanned the painting as he nodded..."By the way, the name's Aya."
His hand with the roll in it seemed to double as his greeting pose, well aware of the fact that this girl who had painted all of this art had been, in fact, a paraplegic of sorts; at the least though, his arm could easily be seen as a farce, the life was nowhere to be found in the scientific creation of his left arm.

I stare curiously at the man who had begun talking. He clearly wasn't interested in the art. "Rin. Rin Tezuka..." I return my name. It was a custom here. People didn't like it if you didn't... Spinning on the stool, I lift my feet to grab the roll he presented. I grab it inbetween all the toes on each foot, and then take a small bite. It was rather good. Not too fresh, not too stale. Feeling it over and tasting it in my mouth, I finally noticed the arm. He wanted to show it to me... I swallow the small morsel and give him a suspicious glare. "Why are you here, and what do you want of me?"

Aya laughed to himself as she glared, nodding a bit, "An all too familiar question. I'm here because I protect this city, and I try to get to know everyone I can. What I want of you, I've already gotten. An introduction, and a name. Ms. Tezuka then."
He sat back, watching the art for a bit as his eyes scanned deeply.."You know, I may actually come back in a few days, if you'll hold it for me. Not everyday you see an artist in this metallic boredom....well no."
"We have those. But we call them mechanics, engineers, and scientists. Never many artists though, and I admire it because even with a newly created arm to live my life, I couldn't make anything half as good," he closed his eyes and cleared his throat.
"I'm sorry. I don't mean to focus all of this on this city. I suppose if I'm bothering you I can come back when it's more convenient?"
It was at this point the Chalybian emblem could be seen on his good shoulder, as he put a hand on his chin, stroking his own cheek afterwards.

I shrug. "No, you can stay if you want... You could mix paints for me. That's always helpful, since the round cans slip sometimes..." I lift the roll to my mouth again and bite into it, a larger bite. Savoring it, I sigh a little in content. I knew nothing of imposing. Asking a stranger for help wasn't new. It wasn't favored either, but painting was kind of important.
"And call me Rin. Formalities bother me." I decide to add, after remembering that I was addressed as 'Ms. Tezuka.' I discard what was left of the roll in front of the easel and pick the brush back up. "With a little help, this could be done within the day..."

Aya laughed to himself and nodded, "Fine fine. I can do that, my eyes are still good so I think I can get you the shades you need. Just as long as you'll allow me to buy the painting when it's all said and done, I won't mind helping you one bit."
He stared at the paints as he thought for a moment, and looked to her for a good guidance on color, as Aya said lightly, "Rin then. Tell me, what brings an artist to Chalybs as opposed to Ariadelvento for the nature shots or Nerezza for their macabre landscapes?"
He figured a small bit of background couldn't hurt.

I make a discomforted face with the price for help, but eventually nod. "Alright, you can buy it." I begin using up the rest of the yellow on the brush. "Mix me more of that turquoise color you see on my left cheek." I commanded, only slightly. It wasn't demanding, but just straightforward.
"I don't know what you mean 'what brings me to Chalybs.' I have always been here. As long as I can remember, anyway..." Which isn't really saying too much...

Aya watched the discomfort easily, he knew emotions all too well as he smirked, "Thank you very much."
Now the challenge was on, Aya simply started to throw together more blue with light green- why waste the white, it was a neutral, and the style of painting regarded neutrals as the most used besides the color red.
He handed her three tones instead of one, all of them matching the tone on her skin, but the difference was the light hitting them- simply, a color would reflect a certain amount of light depending on hue mixtures, even if they all came out the same color.
"I suppose I wouldn't know all too well myself..I've only recently come since the kingdom has been under new rule." He figured to play dumb with his own position, because he was glad to see someone who DIDN'T treat him like a precious jewel of a crown.
He was just a mercenary trying to make the place more habitable, but when you walk into a kingdom of metal..it can be tough.
"I guess what I mean is...have you thought of traveling or finding new places to call your own?"

I stop painting to think it over. Have I ever thought of leaving? Would I want to leave? What's out there beyond Chalybs? "I... guess not. I don't know what's out there. If I don't know what is there, how can I think of going anywhere?" My face shows clear confusion at such a question. Why would someone want to leave to go to the unknown? "Besides... I can't honestly describe why, but I can't leave Chalybs yet. Something makes me want to stay..."

Aya nodded at the reaction, as he spoke, "It is a scary spot. But how can you know if there's nowhere better without thinking of the unknown? In fact, you could be painting the most beautiful sky or ocean of Ariadelvento or Unda, and not even know it. Yet you've never been there. That's talent."
He folded his arms for a moment though, "You're drawn to Chalybs though?..How do you mean?" He had been busy assorting the paints more...accessibly. They were everywhere and if he were to mix them for her, he would need a better structure.

I blink a few times, trying to consider the statement about painting the sky or ocean. I'd never seen the ocean... but I'd painted it. Once. It was a gorgeous blue that sparkled like a precious gemstone... I had seen it once, in a dream. But I choose not to reply to this question.
"I've just been here. I feel like I need to do something here, or find something out... I can't explain it, like I said. But... I can't just leave yet. Maybe one day...." I give a sigh. I felt exhausted. But picking up a new brush, I swirl it in one of the turquoise shades and bring it to my face, contemplating as to where it should go. Another stain marks my face now, but I pay it no mind.

Ayalan smirked for a bit and folded his arms, as he watched her reaction, and slowly closed his own eyes.
"If you need to find something out, why not find someone to help you? Surely if you don't know what you're looking for, it'd be best to ask, right?"
He blinked for a bit, slowly watching her movements as he folded his arms over one another. "By the by..do you actually have a place of residence around here? You seem like you've been at this for awhile now..Dedication is one thing but to work through your fatigue is unhealthy."
Aya's concern was more of the fact that he knew what it was like to be fully out of energy- that was the naval battles of Unda talking though.
He held the easel out for her a bit more comfortably.

"Who would be able to help me find something that I don't know? I can't ask for help, because I don't know what to look for.."
"Thank you." I respond to him holding the easel. I yawn a little bit when he mentions fatigue.
"I don't technically live anywhere... I use my painting money to buy a room every now and again. But it is kind of a 'sleep where you fall' kind of thing. It's not bad, really. A little cold. But kind of... well, homey. You get used to it, become one with the metal. When you're one with the metal, you're part of the city..."

Aya folded his arms and nodded, "Well if you don't know what to look for, the idea of having more eyes aid your search can only be a saving grace, no?"
He then nodded at her strokes, and peered in, "Not a problem," he said in return, then he blinked.
"Become one with the metal? You're sounding more like a fusion specialist than an artist now. I mean..I run the city and I can't stand the turning of the gears every minute of every day sometimes. I was brought up in Nerezza. My eyes were blinded by the darkness, and my ears fazed by the silence. There was nothing but ..nothingness. I suppose that's why I especially enjoy some art. It's..totally different from my old life."
He stood up for a moment, "Have you considered settling down somewhere at least? That just sounds worrisome to just..go as you will..despite my own wandering lifestyle I suppose.."
Ayalan shook his head, "That was a stupid question. I understand what you mean completely. My life was full of traveling. I never stayed down in one place too long..makes you wonder how I'm here now."
