I grin. "Good to see you're not so easy to fool. Nope. It's impossible that I'm travelling with Death. And that I'm just good at working metal, right?" This was surprisingly not awkward. "Why... Why are you working here?" I frown now, lowering my head just slightly. "You were scared of being a giant because you don't want to kill people... and that boy earlier... Why?"

"Well..." I started off by explaining how as soon as we arrived in Roccia, my parents forced me to train as a gladiator in order to earn money. I told her how I was nearly killed in a duel with my Father, and then promptly kicked out onto the streets. I told her about how fighting was the only thing I knew how to do, besides play music, and how I now lived in the coliseum as an undefeated Arena Ace. "And that's that. In regard to the boy, I always show mercy to those who deserve it, as well as women and children. That innocent boy was only trying to save his family from poverty, so I decided to do my part and help out a bit..."

"...More money in violence than in music? I don't like that..." I frown, recalling that mandolin. I'd painted it for him. He'd played it... His father smashed it. I push myself against him, as my only means of hugging. "Man... You've had it rough, haven't you?" I shake my head. "This isn't you. And you're unhappy." So am I. "Just... leave. Come with me, Dai..." My face starts to slowly turn from pink to red.

I immediately frown, knowing that I can't take her up on that offer right away."I'd leave right now if I could, in fact I want it more than anything. But there are loose ends I have to take care of." I told Rin, reaching for a certain good-luck charm around my neck. "Mr. Ace Mr. Ace!" I heard Alto call from the distance. In fact, here comes one of them now... "Sorry to interrupt your time with your girlfriend, but you need to come quick!" My face turns red as Alto begins to pull me away from Rin. "Whoa whoa whoa, wheres the fire little man?" I ask, trying to buy time. "Everyone is mad about that last fight, so they're setting up an alternative. They're making you fight the other Arena Ace!" The hot color drained from my face and my heart slowed at the mention of the other ace. I just had to say loose ends, didn't I?

"...Any way I could do it instead?" I ask rather... calmly. Fighting just wasn't him. And... man, when I punched Shin's dad, it was a rush! "Come on, Dai. Let me do it... I'm not the helpless little girl you thought I was eight years ago. I promise to give you a real show... And you can take the money, too. Please?" I put on my best puppy-eyes.

"Sorry Rin. If it was any random opponent, than by all means I would let you have your fun. But it's not any random opponent. It's the one man I've ever sworn to kill. He's a terrible person who cheats people out of their money with scams, shows no mercy to anyone, and worst of all..." My voice lowered to barely a whisper. "He broke my mandolin." Reaching around my neck, I took of my good luck charm that I was previously holding and put it around Rin's neck. "This charm is made up of the remains of my old mandolin. The one you painted. Ironically enough, the few pieces that I salvaged formed an almost perfect heart..." I said, with an odd smile across my face. "I trust that you'll do a good job holding onto it for me. Besides, this won't take long." I stated into her eyes for a few moments before finally turning around to head back towards the door that would lead to my last fight.

"Wait! Daisuke!" I lightly jog back after him, red as my hair. "Just, uh. Erm.. Ugh.. I'm not good at words." I smile lightly and jump up to peck his cheek. "Go show off your red, okay?"

Oh, um well... She's definitely not here with anyone I guess... My face turns as red as hers as I look down at her. "Right..." I say, resisting the urge to kiss her back. Can't get emotionally tied up before this fight... Turning around once more, I continue walking to await the announcer's introduction.

This would be my painting. I walk back up to Vash and sit down with a relieved sigh. "Hey, Blondie. I'm back." And I quickly pick up a brush.

I raised an eyebrow. "That boy; was that your friend, the one you're looking for? He's a gladiator?"
Unlike most gladiators, he'd shown mercy and compassion. He had a noble soul; and there was something about him that drew my attention.

"...Yes." A smile takes my face. "That's Daisuke." I could paint this scene. I take a brownish-gray and begin painting the edge of the battlefield. "Keep your eyes open, Vash... You're going to see a real display of red."

"I'm sure I will," I told her, watching the arena as the boy, Daisuke, stepped out. I would watch - I wouldn't look away, no matter how much 'red' was spilled today.
I had a feeling that she meant bravery, courage, guts; but all I could think about was the blood that would be splashed across the sand.

Crap crap crap I can't believe I forgot! I could here the announcer begin his speech as I ran through the inner corridors of the coliseum in an attempt to reach my room. I nearly tore down the door as I ran inside. Grabbing the bamboo shinai inside, I run back towards the entrance for the main arena. I reach the my station just in time to hear "... I give you a match for the ages! An Arena Ace showdown! Without further ado, I give you our top Arena Ace, the Red Star!" The crowd goes wild as I hear an uncomfortably familiar voice begin to whoop and shout. "OH YEAH! I'M THE BEST! I'M THE BEST!" Ugh. What an obnoxious person... "And our other Arena Ace, the Sauntering Sword!" And what an introduction... Steeling myself, I walk solemnly out the now open door. He's in full view now... The one man I've ever felt hatred towards. The one man that I can openly admit to wanting to kill... I'm now face to face with him, and I ever-so calmly offer my hand for pre-fight handshake. "Father." I struggle to get the words out, and try my hardest to keep an uncaring expression. "...Boy" My Father hisses, as if it was to much effort to use my real name. "I'm sorry, Father, for being such a terrible son. But you don't have to worry after today. In fact, you'll never have to worry about anything again." I say solemnly, still offering a handshake. "You tryin to tell me that YOU'RE gonna be the one who kills me?" He began to laugh heartily. "YOU'RE gonna kill ME?!" His laughter was hysterical. Swiping away my hand, he turned around and began to walk away. "You're funny." He said with more laughter, back still facing me. With that, I snapped. I charged at him empty handed as my mind flashed back to the night he took me away from Chalybs. The night he took me away from Rin. "You'll pay for that!" I screamed as I closed in on him. "You're funny!" He screamed in response, turning around at the last possible moment. My fist met his waiting hand, which he twisted to send me off balance. Almost simultaneously, he swung his fist forwards and caught my stomach, uppercutting me so strongly that I was flung into the air. Not again. I regained composure in mid-air and readied my shinai as I fell back downwards. I landed, a bit away from him, ready for anything. "Try this!" He yelled, pulling something from out of his clothing. "Red flash!" I'm not sure if it was magic or some sort of explosive, but a red flash struck my vision, temporarily blinding me. Luckily, I knew what was next. I instinctively sidestepped his charge, and struck the back of his knees. He toppled to the ground, which gave me some time to recover from that flash. He was still getting up when my vision returned. "Sorry, but you lose!" I began striking him with my shinai. Aiming towards his weaker areas and pressure points, I struck with all my might, each strike making him weaker and weaker. I backed up and took a deep breath before striking for a final time. "Goodbye and good riddance!" I muttered with a final strike to one of his temples. I watched with a neutral expression as my own Father toppled to his side, coughing up blood as he went. "No mercy..." I mumbled as I turned around and walked away.

"Heh... Daisuke..." He finally killed his father. I could only imagine. His father had always been abusive. I could only imagine the hatred he fostered to actually kill someone. "He finished it too fast for me to paint it..." I set down the brush, barely started. "Oh well... That's my Daisuke." I look to Vash. "Come on. We're going to see him."

I nodded, eyes closed against the headache, the scream of protest of the corrupted soul that fled thearena even as I stood. With my limiters in place, it couldn't sense my presence, but I could sense its. Perhaps, a soul so evil had deserved what came, but I was suddenly struck by the violence of its passing, and that made me ever so slightly ill.
I followed Rin.
