I blinked..... then let out a huge laugh. "I guess so! I guess you really would." I put a hand on his shoulder, patted it. "Come on. Let's go back inside; Akira's waiting for us, after all, and even if you're not interested, I think a little more sake would be good tonight."

"And then that's when I said, 'This is for Shinny!' And I punched him... right in the face, you know?!" The red-haired girl had awoken just as the boys left. Naturally, Akira offered her a drink. And boy did she drink. Sake was like water to her, going down so smooth and fast. Akira was still only slightly pink in the cheeks as she laughed along with her new friend's story.
"Wow, Rin. That's really something. What a great power you have." She comments, trying to be friendly.
Rin seems to shrink at the mention of power. "Yeah... I guess..." The girl's head was filled with 'Tami instantly, how her power was not enough.
Akira seemed to hit a nerve, instantly sitting up and putting her hand on the girl's shoulder. "Oh. Hey. Sorry if I said anything wrong..."
Rin shakes her head. "Nah... It's okay. Gimme some more sake." She demands it.
Akira smiles softly, holding the bottle up to her mouth and tipping some back. Rin pulls away, a few drops falling to her chest, darkening spots on her shirt. Akira takes a small sip from the bottle.
"Hey. Where are the boys, anyway?" Rin asked.
It dawned on Akira that this girl had passed out and just woken up. She didn't know what to say, so she just smiled and said, "Outside. Talking. Just stay here and wait, okay?"
The armless girl just nods and sits back. "Fine. Can I have more sake?"

'Guo suddenly burst into the room, every bit his old self. He kicked the door open and took a few wide strides in before coming to a dramatic halt, raising his hand and pointing an almost accusing finger across at the innkeeper. He smirked, and the poor old man behind the bar suddenly started shaking in fear. 'Guo opened his mouth.
"YOU THERE! INN-KEEPER! FETCH ME A BOX OF YOUR FINEST DONUTS, AND A GLASS OF SALTWATER! PLEASE AND THANK YOU!"

Then I burst in afterwards, plastering my best silly grin across my face, and pointed a similarly acusing finger at the innkeeper.
"AND A BOTTLE OF YOUR FINEST SAKE, IF YOU PLEASE! AND ANOTHER BOX OF DONUTS! THE FOOD AND DRINK OF LOVE AND PEACE! WE ARE GOING TO BRING SOME LIFE AFTER DEATH TO THIS DEATH AFTER LIFE! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!"

Akira and Rin both look to each other and begin laughing. Akira laughs because the tension that has been lingering finally lifted. Rin laughed because she's drunk and her new friend also was. "Moooooooore sakeeee~" She sings loudly. Akira laughs and tips the bottle back to her lips. "Good to see that cleared up. Friends should remain friends." She scoots over and puts her arm around Rin's shoulder, making it easier to share the sake. And it cleared up a spot... "Hey, Greeny. Come have a seat now, eh? It's good to see you so fired up."Rin takes a swig and has an intoxicated facial expression, both full of life and lifeless. "Of coursh he ish... That'sh who 'Guuuooooo ish..." Her head falls on Akira's shoulder, closing her eyes. She was still awake, but almost passing out. |

I grinned, sat down. "Come on, 'Guo, pull up a chair! Kelci will make sure she doesn't bite, eh?" I laughed. "Come on, Akira! Let's have a friendly contest, huh?"

Akira smiles at Vash. "I'm always game for a challenge. Whatcha got in mind?" As though she didn't already know. Kelcia giggles and rolls her eyes. And directing at 'Guo, she says, "And if I actually DID want to bite you, Kelcia couldn't do anything about it. But I'll make a promise not to... At least while I'm still not drunk. Come on, big guy."

'Guo seated himself triumphantly with his glass of salt-water and box of donuts. Slapping his palms together, he stood up and took in a huge breath, puffing up his chest. Then, suddenly he burst out.
"THANK YOU NATURE."
With that, he sat down again, and with an almost cultured and calm air, he picked up his glass of salt water and held it in his hands for a moment. Bowing his head once, twice and then three times he looked overjoyed, before thirstily downing what was in the glass... Then... He fell upon the donuts...

I myself took a pair of donuts from my own box and munched happily, before turning to Akira. "Well," I mumbled through a mouthful of donut, "I was thinkin' you'nme could y'know havea friendly drinkin' contest dy'know?"

Akira shifted around so Rin's tired head was more comfortably on her chest. Rin's smile got bigger and dumber as she nuzzled into her breasts. Akira snickered and looked to Vash, a certain fire in her eye. With her free hand, she removed her eyepatch. "Challenging me to the game of drink? You're an interesting man, Vash. Maybe sticking around wasn't such a bad idea after all." Her smile turns slightly devious as she slowly turns her head to lock eyes with 'Guo. Her red-orange eye and ice-blue branded eye, stole his. "How about you join us?

He scratched the back of his head nervously. "I mean, I suppose I've drank as much water as I was supposed to today..."

Akira snickered as she felt Rin's body start going limp. The small armless girl was already passed out. "Fine. Suit yourself. But it would be much more fun if you decided to join us. But I guess I won't force you." And her gaze turns fully devious as her mis-matched eyes met Vash. "What are your rules? What's at stake here?"
Kelcia couldn't contain her giggles. "Oh boy... She's getting competitive. Watch out, Vashy~ She could even give you a run for your money."

I grinned. "I seem to get drunk so easily," I said cheerfully to Kelcia. "I'm sure that would put anyone at ease about their chances against me." I swirled the bottle and smiled. "We play a drinking game. You get to pick, but it's gotta be one with a familiar set of rules - no cheating on either side. As for prizes... well, I haven't thoguht about it. I was thinking just a friendly competition myself, with nothing on the line but pride... but you seem to have other ideas. What's your wager?"

Akira got very deep in thought... "Well, I've always been a fan of Drink Until You Pass Out. It's pretty self-explanatory. Whoever passes out first loses." Her devious smile then softened into a much more devious, subtle one. "And as for the prize... Let's wager 'Guo." Her eyes flickered to 'Guo for just a split second before returning to Vash. "Loser has to share the same bed with him."

I think there was a wicked glint in my eye when I finished hearing her wager.
This was too interesting to lose; I grinned. It would be good for 'Guo, and she didn't say he had to, well, 'sleep with' the loser.
"Deal. Shake on it?" I asked, holding out a hand.
