The two figures lay at separate sides of the arena in which they were fighting. Both were sprawled out across the floor with their blades by their side, a shattered, emotionless, white mask lay between them, representing the no-mans land of the battlefield which none should cross, none should dare step between these two juggernauts of swordsmanship.
A shuffle of movement.
PauseAnother slight shift.
Both of the fighters started to pick themselves up off of the ground, grabbing their blades as they went, before facing one another. Brea's shoulders heaved up and down as he stared across at his opponent, who simply stared down at the ground, dark blue, almost black hair, covering their face. They raised their sword in both hands, and whispered four words.
"Prove you deserve Ryu."They charged forwards, raising their dark black sword into the air, preparing to bring it down towards Brea's head. The Undian Captain was faster, his right sword swung up and outwards in a parry that sent the black sword off and away from his body, his left arm bringing his blood red katana up in an arc, aiming to bring it down onto the exposed flesh of his opponents neck. They reacted quicker however, as soon as their blade was parried aside, they brought their feet from the floor and spun inwards, placing their blade between the two of them, stopping the strike from breaching flesh. Brea smirked.
He forced down harder on his blade, slamming his opponent to the ground, the tip of his sword falling down and digging in to the ground on the right-hand side of the mysterious attackers face. His right hand came across, and stabbed the steel blade in his right hand into the ground on the left-side of their head. He stepped across so that he had a foot either side of his attacker, holding both swords like a pair of scissors, ready to close in on the neck of his attacker. Their hair still covered their face, the black blade trapped between his own, but unable to block both, he had the advantage.
"How do you know the name of this sword..?" He asked through gritted teeth, staring down at them. The swordsman was given no response, save for
"Ichiken; Akuma Daibingu!" (One-Sword; Devil Dive)His assailant disappeared from underneath him, but only one word rang through Brea's mind, as he already knew what was coming next.
'Ichiken..? He thought.
He spun around, he knew what the Devil Dive was, he'd used it himself before in sparring, and that was what worried him so much. How did this person know One-Sword techniques..? They were the specialty of the Itan-Sha... Was he fighting one of his old comrades?
He brought both of his blades up onto his right hand side, blocking the rotating strike of his assailant, who smirked. Sliding their blade down nearer to the hilt of Brea's two swords, they raised a leg, to kick the top of his blades. Brea's eyes widened as he recognized the manoeuver from somewhere in the depths of his mind, as well as it's effect...
His blades clattered to the floor, whilst he himself took a large jump backwards and away from his attacker. Now he was unarmed... Cursing inwardly, he watched as the long-haired figure hooked their foot underneath the steel blade, and kicked it up and into their waiting hand, before taking an offensive stance. The black blade, in their right hand, went underneath their left arm, pointing behind them. The steel blade in their left hand, went up to the right side of their face, pointing across at Brea, and a feeling of dread filled his stomach as he recognised the stance.
"Niken; Akuma Doroppu!" (Two-Sword; Devil Drop)The assailant suddenly burst forwards, swiftly closing the gap between themselves and Brea, and the Undian Swordsman saw the inevitable shape in the attack, the way that his attackers aura seemed to take the shape of a large Oni, or demon behind them as they charged towards him. He brought his arms up in a display of defence, before they disappeared from sight. He smiled, predicting what was about to happen perfectly.
He leaned backwards, planting his hands firmly on the ground, he kicked off, back-flipping away as the ground that had only moments ago been at his feet exploded up in a cloud of rock, dirt and grit. Landing solidly, he brought his arms up again as his assailant burst forth from the crowd, their aura still taking its demonic shape as this time, Brea also charged forwards, aiming to meet them head on.
He only had one chance at this.
If he failed, he died. Simple as.
"Nooken; Jisatsu Chaaji!" (No-Sword; Suicide Charge)The two came together almost as a blur, one was white and dark blue, the other olive green and golden blonde. The ground around them imploded and was spat up in all directions as another cloud of dust erupted around them, the arena booming with the heavy collision of the two juggernauts who had come together on this field. Slowly, the dust started to settle down, revealing two glowing lights... Surrounding two glowing figures...
A glowing yellow aura surrounded Brea, and surrounding him appeared to be a large golden Coyote, that was snarling, interlocked in combat with the glowing blue form of a Fox, which surrounded his opponent. Brea was stood, his arms held out behind his back, the tip of the attackers steel sword pressed into his forehead, stopped only by the steel headband wrapped around his head, with the symbol of Unda. His teeth were gritted, and his stare was determined as he looked at his opponent.
"So, Alta... This is how we meet again, huh..?" He snarled.
"What sign is this that you wear?" The assailant asked as the pair glared hard at one another, the long blue hair falling away from
Alta's determined expression, her own teeth gritted in a mixture of anger and sheer emotion. Brea snickered.
- Play: The Unbeknownst Grief -"Unda... I survived Duo, and the nation flourished under new leadership... Their new leader took me in and showed me sympathy and cared for me when no-one else would. When the entire world would have shunned me away, he stood like a beacon of hope... A beacon of loyalty and integrity amidst the storm of hatred and war. When every other civilized man and nation would turn me away simply because of the symbol that I wore,
he welcomed me with open arms,
he didn't judge me!
Benjamin accepted me as who I am! As a Heretic! As a killer! He took me in and showed me that this world isn't just about fighting, isn't just about death! There are people, Alta... People who we should care about!" He tightened his fists, as Alta looked on emotionless. He continued.
"I've missed you, as well, you know... I thought that maybe I would be all alone in this world, after what happened with Duo... But here you are..." The two auras faded away as the pressure being placed on Brea's forehead slackened, allowing the swordsman to step forwards slightly, the steel blade lowering as he stood up to his full height, looking down on the woman who had once been his best friend. Their shoulders heaved up and down from tiredness.
"I needed to know..." She breathed, her eyes glistening slightly.
"I needed to know that you were treating Ryu well... That you weren't disgracing the name of the Itan-Sha..." A single tear drew a line down her face as she held up the steel blade, and handed it across to Brea, who accepted it gratefully. "Prove to me, that you're the man that I remember." Brea nodded as the pair backed away from one another... The Undian Captain reaching in to his jacket and pulling out a second headband bearing the symbol of the Itan-Sha. He twisted the Undian headband so that is covered his left eye, and tied the Itan-Sha headband across his forehead, only his right eye showing. He raised Ryu, the steel blade, in both of his hands.
Alta reached into her long, white jacket and pulling out an Itan-Sha headband, which she tied around her own forehead. She raised her dark black sword in both hands and smiled lightly, as both of the fighters let out an almighty cry, their aura's flaring upwards, the two animals padding about behind them as they charged for one another...
- Stop: The Unbeknownst Grief -
- Play: Determination -The two collided in a flurry of strikes, their blades trailing lines of gold and blue respectively with bright sparks flashing in the air wherever they connected with one another. The two animal guardians went at one another as well, snarling and growling as they clawed and bit at one another, trying to gain the upper hand over their opponent. Brea swung across horizontally, but Alta back-flipped away, before charging forth, her sword skimming across the ground, ripping it up behind her. Brea charged forwards doing the same. They both cried out at once.
"ICHIKEN; JENTORU NOSOTCHUU!" (One-Sword; Gentle Stroke)[/size]
Their blades moved fluidly towards one another, but at the last minute, Brea disappeared, before reappearing behind Alta.
"Ichiken; Tabako Sutoraiku!" (One-Sword; Smoke Strike)Brea's sword rested lightly against Alta's neck... It was over.
"You win, Brea..."
